It's very common for Electronic equipment to get updates on a yearly basis. An example of this would be TV's or PC's. The Likely hood is that Microsoft would just exchange the regular DVD drive for an HD DVD Drive. Its unlikely that Publishers would start putting their games on HD DVDs. That would divide the market and confuse consumers. It would be no different then Microsoft adding the HDMI port.
If Microsoft wants to take on Wii with 360 Arcade, they are going to need to drop the price to $250, just like Wii. They should consider packing in Viva Pinata and Kameo.
That is all fine and dandy but if you are going to compare system, than compare the volume of games each system has to offer, compare PSN to what Xbox Live Silver membership has to offer (HD Movies, TV Show's, Xbox Live Arcade). It's not hardware that makes good games, its good games that makes a hardware good.
I just don't like how zealous PS3 fanboys are. I enjoy the Playstation family. I just see the Playstation 3 for what it is and not what it isn't nor do I see it for what it doesn't have or what it might become.
I posted this news yesterday twice. Playstation 3 fanboys kept reporting it as fake, spam or dupicate story and just getting it knocked off. PS3 fanboys are so zealous and hate news reported that they don't like.

I actually bought a PSP and PS2 version but I decided to wait for the 360 version. I did enjoy what they did with Tomb Raider Legends on Xbox 360.

This site is absolutely congested with Playstation Fanboys that have nothing better to do than get together and agree that PS3 is king. I’m at a work and can check the news, play games and work at the same time. I doubt that most of you have that leisure. If the Playstation 3 is so great, why do people like Nazim spend 24 – 7 on this site? Don’t you all have games to play? I check this site one or twice a day. There are so many great Xbox 360 games out there that I don't even have enough time...
The Playstation 3 only has 2 million users in North America. I'd Say that a half a million Xbox 360 systems in a month is a pretty good tally. That's 1/4th of the PS3's total users base in North America. Should I compare the 7.5 million Xbox 360's sold to PlayStation 3 2.1 million here in North America?
The last Metal Gear Solid sold 1.42 million units in the United States. Halo 2 Sold 6.52 million in the USA. If the sales of 521k Console are small to you (with the release of Halo 3), I'd hate to hear what you think of PS3 sales when Metal Gear Solid 4 hits. I doubt it will do as well as Halo 3.
Good Hardware sales usually spawn good software sales. Good software sales spawn more third party support. More third party support usually amounts to better/more games which leads back into hardware sales and so forth. The consumer votes on a system with their wallets. So for those of you that question why sales are important, that would be the reason.

Most New Wii games are old PS2 titles from 2005 or shovel ware. Not to say there aren't going to be a few gems but most of the games are trash.
If you consider the Xbox 360 dead in Europe, than PS3 must be vapor ware. As I have mentioned before. I have all systems. And for reasons I've mentioned over and over, I favor Xbox 360. But that doesn't prevent me from enjoying games on all systems. I wouldn't seem so extreme on this site if Fanboys wouldn't drive me to the extreme to make a point.

The Xbox 360 has twice the Ram of the Playstation 3. PS3 has 3 times the storage on a Blu-Ray Disc. Blue-Ray does not improve visuals. Ram can directly effect the visual quality of a game or the lack there of. It will be interesting to see how UBISoft trouble shoots this.
It's funny how the format wars made its way into the video game industry. Somehow we are the ones that are to choose the next generation format. Boy aren't we special.
Although Microsoft still has publishing rights to the first Mass Effect, EA now owns it and can put it on whatever system they want. It's future is in EA's hands now.
Update: I guess there's too much we don't know to make any calls on the Future of Mass Effect. It was build from the ground up on Xbox 360 and would have to be re-written for the PS3. PS3 sales will probably be poor in October as well (in North America). The Price drop for PS3 and the new 40 Gig system don't take effect until November 2nd. Meaning that those that are interested in PS3 will likely wait until November. So for PS3 fans, November is the Month to watch.
