I don't think that EA's acquisition of BioWare and Pandemic studios would be such a bad thing if EA had a good track record. Things don't sound so bad but then again, it's EA we are talking about. I personally think of EA as the Devil.
In order to make money, 3rd parties have to learn who and how to make games for the Wii's demo graph. If Nintendo can make money off their software, so can third parties.
As Developers leave and exclusives are lost, PS3 fanboys are so quick to point out their 5 exclusives as though it's going to save their faltering system. Wait... This is all subjective to Nintendo. If the market is starved of Wii's (which continues to selling like Hot cakes due to it's price point), than the consumer will go in one of two directions, they will purchase a cheap PS2 or a Xbox 360 with 2 games at $349 (because it's cheaper than PS3). The New PSP will do better (I intend on getting one myself) but PSP has like 24 million users while DS has over 50 million users. DS is too far for PSP to catch up.
Just like Blu-Ray, the lack of BC is good for Sony because it leaves gamers with limited options in terms of what they can spend their money on. [NEW]PS3 owners can either buy a PS3 game/games or Blu-Ray discs. In the end, its not so good for gamers but it's great for Sony.
The best way to show your loyalty is to support the developers by buying their games. I love Sega and Capcom. It doesn't matter what system they put their games on, I buy their games to show my loyalty (however if it's multi-platform and happens to be on 360, I'm getting that version for gamer points). Hironobu Sakaguchi created your beloved Final Fantasy Series, why not support him and his new studio? Don't you want to see more Final Fantasiesk games by the man that created the series?
Every week I'm looking to see whats going to be released for the Xbox 360 because of gamer/achievement points. The community of friends I have all love achievement points as well. So we all fight every week to see who's on top with the most Achievement points. To this day, I've only bought 2 games for my Playstation 3 (although I've taken home PS3 games from my shop). One of those was Virtua Fighter 5 but I sold it for the up coming 360 version because I wanted to be rewarded with Achievement...

The game market is different all over the world. I can't tell you that the Xbox is a great system where you live. Release dates are different and because Sony Held back the PS3 release in Europe, it may be a healthier market out their. In North America, it been apparent that Sony Lost their momentum. However, you have to enjoy the battle between the Giants. Healthy competition brings great games and price drops. It will be interesting to see what happens this Christmas with the New 40 Gig PS3...

Whether you agree with me or not, Playstation 3 software sales aren't so good. This may get more Playstation 3 owners to buy Playstation 3 games since they will no longer have the option of buying PS2 games.
