What this could mean for the industry is that Both Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 would be on equal playing fields in terms of 3rd party support. Meaning that all competition would have to come from 1st and 2nd party games. Meaning that Both Sony and Microsoft would have to invest more in creating their own exclusives. It's a win, win situation for gamers.
I have all three systems and because I own a video game store, I get to play almost every game that been released for all system. For the most part, the larger percentage of games that have come out for the Playstation 3 were on Xbox 360 first and therefore old news [for me]. That would likely explain why those that have multiple Systems favor Xbox 360 (in my opinion).
I hate this guy and his forecasts are always way off. Yet, I can't stop reading his Forecasts. Kind of like a moth drawn to the light.
It looks as though Microsoft sent him all the different types of merchandise made available to the public. As a reviewer, you may want to talk about whats out there and their differences. It all makes for an honest review.
I don't speak for everyone, just for myself. I have a Samsung LCD, and It's a pretty good brand. I do intend on buying a 1080p Television in the future and that may change my opinion. I still can't see buying a Blu_Ray at $30 each. Maybe in the future, we'll see them at a lower price and I may consider them. As of now, long live DVDs.
You are using VGChartz, so if you are using that as a basis, than the Playstation 3 has sold 4.64M and the Xbox 360 has sold 11.10M units. That means you have 6.46 million Playstation 3's to sell before you catch up to Xbox 360 (todays figures). Metal Gear Solid 2 Sold 5.56 World wide. If everyone that bought Metal Gear 2 bought Metal Gear 4, you still don't have enough users to beat todays Xbox 360 sales. Halo 2 Sold 8.28 World wide.
Xbox 360 will have the better version of G...
At BestBuy, I've seen them in 1080p and I can tell a difference but I can't tell a difference between an upscaled DVD and a Blu-Ray on a 720p LCD. Silly me.
As of the moment, My TV only does 720p. Therefore, upscaled DVDs are good enough for me. I'm not ready to pluck down $2000 for a 1080p television. Nor am I ready to replace my DVD collection with $30 Blu-Ray/HD DVDs. As a Playstation 3 owner, I don't see myself ever buying a Blu-Ray.
This has to be the stupidest post I've ever read. The rate in which a games rumbles is based on how high a developer sets it for their game. It sounds as though Playstation 3 fans are grasping at straws.
Heck, I don't think they are hurting for any game, they didn't even buy Heavenly Sword. However, it's the volume of delays that hurts. Nearly all multi-platform Releases sees a Playstation 3 delay. It doesn't far well for the Playstation 3's reputation.
Shankle, I don't think I mentioned anywhere that that was highest priority in life. My highest priority in life is my Family, health and then my business (a video game store). I bet you wish you did that for a living. In terms of video games, I'd rather play a game that I enjoy that leaves some record of what I've done.
Anyway, don't get mad a me because the Playstation 3 is getting owned by Xbox 360.
I've never played the original Halo past the second level. However I do intend on finishing the Fight. Achievement points baby.
There only one thing that matters... Achievement Points baby!
I think I'll go and get myself a glass of milk.
I don't see anything in that article that has Microsoft claiming to have sold 10 million units. It say's they've shifted 10 million units not sold through.
Of course Microsoft has conveniently forgotten about the Wii Sales but they also didn't mention that they are kicking Playstation 3's A$$. So what's the difference?
As a retailer, you see Gamers of all Types. The most common for me are die hard Nintendo fans. When you talk to Nintendo Fanboys, they can usually tell you why they are fanboys and why they love Nintendo. An there's a lot of good reasons too like Nintendo that I need not get into.
I myself wasn't a fan of the original Xbox. It was Microsoft's first stab at the video game market and there wasn't really much for me but most players that were fans of the original Xbox were fans of...
Actually, Its hard to call the Playstation 3 a failure. Its really the first system to launch at a $600 price point and sell millions of units. Both 3D0 and SNK tried this but never meet a mass marketable user base. But there's a big difference between that time and this time. Prior to the Playstation 3's Launch, the Playstation consoles were number 1 all over the world. If Sony had just released the Playstation 3 with a regular DVD drive. They could have released the same system at around $2...
For those of you that want to give your life to Xbox 360, repeat this prayer after me. Dear Xbox 360, I ask you to forgive me of my sins of buying a Playstation 3. I've had nothing to play on it and nothing but fales hope. I ask you Xbox 360 into my heart. In Xbox name I pray, Ahhh-Men.
I'm mentioned this before. There are many similarities between Sega Saturn and Playstation 3. No one could deny that the Sega Genesis was a successful system for it's time. The transition from 16-bit to 32-bit wasn't easy for Sega. The Sega Saturn was released at a very High Price point; $399.99 compared to the Playstation that was released at $299. Sega claimed that the Sega Saturn was more powerful than the PSone due to it's two 32-Bit processors.
It was very complicated to p...
