What this brings to PC gaming industry is this.

5: On the go gaming. - solves the problem of having to lug a rig around in order to be able to play your favorite PC games.

4: Reduced hardware cost. Imagine buying one system for the rest of your life? Besides the small subscription fee, you would never have to buy the newest 600 graphics card in order to enjoy the best in visual effects. (That doesn't include cpu, PSU, RAM, MOBO, etc etc)

3: No installs, ...

No, he didn't get it right. The video is running real time using higher quality lighting/shadows/AA/char models being generated in real time using the in game engine. It's able to look better than whats running durring game play because the system does not have to contend with extra information like AI/control input. This is a common technique used in many games. A good example of this is in gears of war or Mass effect 2 when you see the higher detailed models/textures load in during a cut sc...

You realize that Halo Wars was designed to be like what Halo was originally designed to be right? Halo started out as a RTS and slowly was changed into a FPS. It was also not bad. Not the best RTS but it didn't deserve the kinda hate it gets here. I think the people who cry out the most about this game are the people who bought it thinking it would be another FPS game.

They are running the video using the in game engine. The video is not pre rendered and all the in game comments were meant to say that the game video shown would not be pre rendered like the old halo 3 commercials. Stop nitpicking about terms. I sweat I've seen the same Sony fan boys give three different defintions on N4g now 20 different time about cgi, fmv and in game. The video was meant to give an idea of what to expect from the game story and looks wise. It wasn't a OMG LOOK GUYS WE PWN ...

Scratch resistance, not proof. I have a PS3, none of my games have any scratches. Neither do my 360 games either though. My wife works at a gamestop though and I can promise you. You can scratch a blue ray disk.

No, Halo ran on it's own engine. Halo 2 ran on it's own engine. Halo 3 ran on a modified version of the Halo 2 engine. Halo ODST ran on the Halo 3 engine.

Halo: Reach is running off a brand new engine that was designed with the idea of taking full advantage of the 360 hardware. They even went as far as to swap information with Naughty Dog. They gave ND help with the multi-player components for UC2 and ND gave them some tips for the engine in Halo Reach. ND even has a ty to Bungie...

look at a higher def video. Also look at the objects in the background. You can see them a little bit. I watched the hd version of the trailer on my 52" tv last night. I could see them.

Awesome, someone took some lowrez screen shots from the trailer. If you really are curious to get accurate look at the trailer, take a look at a hq version of it (not on youtube). Also these screen shots don't even show the better parts of the trailer. Also, for all the fanboys out there who claim this isn't a new engine. Bungie worked with Naughty Dog to build this engine. In return they helped with UC2's netcode and multiplayer set up. They even thank Bungie in the credits.

Not to mention Reach was the most heavily defended planet even more than Earth (mainly because Earth's location was still unknown). It literally had artificial rings around the planet that acted as docking station and contained massive Mac cannons. The battle of REACH WILL be intense.

What if the blue ray disk got scratched? Wouldn't that ruin the entire game instead of just part of it?(honestly both would be bad). That shouldn't be a reason that the 360 is bad.

One of the biggest benefits of Blue ray though is the high quality sound. MKV has very highly compressed sound. I find most shows I see in MKV to have very poor sound quality.
Image quality is very good though.

What about the single player? Am I the only one who gets excited about these games for the single player and think about the multiplayer as an extra?

Gamestop wont break street dates normally. I hear they broke street date on MW2 because some rogue managers were trying to compete with some mom and pop local places that started selling the game early. I believe those managers were reprimanded. As far as this, my local store has their copies in and are selling them. Sounds like a missinformed employee.

I like to look at pre-orders as a advance layaway. I can pay on several games a little bit every few weeks until the game comes out and I only have to pay 5-10 $ to pick it up. It's a mind game really but it makes it feel like I'm not spending as much on a game.

Yeah, that stuff is possible. However those people get banned too. They are the ones complaining on these forums about getting banned and are going to go buy PS3's instead because of it. I love my PS3 but PSN is free. You can't expect as much action for stuff like this on there because of it.

They are short term bans. Stop trying to make this into a MS trying to make money conspiracy theory. It only shows your ignorance.

You have either not played Halo 2 in a very very long time or you are playing both Halo 3 and 2 on a very small bad tv because Halo 3 graphics look much much sharper with better lighting/ particle/ water effects. You can't say Halo 3 wasn't a graphical improvement over Halo 2. I don't understand how anyone can.

Microsoft doesn't own Call of Duty. Also, Call of Duty is a multi-platform game. I'm pretty sure your statement doesn't make much since.

Yeah, too bad MS doesn't make any money off of console sales. Just like SONY MS sells their console for a loss but makes up for it in software/live sales. It's how the business model has always gone for consoles. You sell the hardware for a loss until the cost of the system is cheap to the point you can lower the price keeping the same price loss margin. It's why it took SONY so long to lower the costs like they did. They really couldn't justify the greater loss margin until they were beginni...
