Better yet, have the villan not designed by you but have their looks effected by choices you make throughout parts of the game that don't seem to have a direct correlation at the time. For instance, as a kid, you turn in evidence of a man committing a crime. In the mans anger, he goes home and beats/brands his son with a hot iron. This boy turns out to be the bad guy and is branded because of your choices. Heck, it could be the more good you do, the more evil he is. The more evil you are, the...
the point is, how much is crysis taking up ram wise on your computer? 1.5gig? That's about 1gig more than what current consoles offer.
JRPGs are normally linear with strong story.
WRPG are normally open with strong game play.
Two different style rpg's. Doesn't mean JRPG's are trying to be like WRPG's. If that were the case, FFXIII would be open and not linear.
You know Sony has part ownership in the DVD format (along with a bunch of other companies). To avoid having to pay Sony royalty costs for using the DVD drive in the original XBOX, they disabled DVD playback unless you bought the remote, which part of its cost went to paying the royalty. Since then many other companies have signed on to the DVD FLLC however this just shows, it wouldn't be the first time Microsoft has had to invest in using another companies technology.I predict, Blu-Ray's read...
Did capcom actually come out and say they cut the content due to disk limitations or did they say the content was cut in order to get the game out faster? *ie: content was considered done in time to ship final version to get printed? Capcom hasn't really been known for being generous when it comes to what they can make an extra penny off of. I could see them cutting stuff just so they could have DLC for the game sooner, despite what can or can't be fit to a disk.
wuh wuh WUUUHHH?
MGS4 is in sub HD? Was it just unscaled to 1080P? That is news to me. I'm surprised I never heard anything about that sooner. If there was ever an example of a game that showed that up scaling to a higher resolution doesn't make that big of an impact on a game, it would be that one. Still getting this on PS3 just because its one of the better PS3 games and I need more PS3 games compared to the amount of 360 games I have.
FF8 was bad
I don't care if the game is linear as long as the story is good and the game play is fun. A game can be linear and good. Just as a game can be completely open and good.
What this means is hopefully they won't ever have to do this again since they can simply update live to meet new standards without it effecting older games.
The original Xbox live was tied in with each game. They all had different interfaces and so forth. The new live is dynamic and isn't hard coded into any game and thus can be changed and updated all you want. Part of why they are shutting down the old live service is so they can update the standards for current live. For instance, upping the amount of friends you can have in your friends list.
Downloading and burning a game isn't the only way to play non legit games. I have a feeling if the PS3 ever truly gets hacked, it will involve being able to copy blue ray games directly to the console hard drive just like the original xbox. You will borrow a friends copy or rent a copy of the game and copy it to your system to play. Simple as that.
You are absolutely right. I have a good chunk of friends who bought PS3's on top of whatever other console they own for the Blue Ray player first, game console 2nd. I mean when you compare the price of a PS3 to most Blue ray players and consider everything else it does, it seems like a no brain-er. I know for a fact that retail stores have been pushing PS3's to people just looking for Blue Ray players instead of a stand alone unit as well. This isn't a bad thing. If people want to play the gr...
Considering Halo 3 is already at 10.83 m lifetime sales. I would seriously think it could... I think GT5 will be a great game. I don't think it will meet the sales expectations that most on N4g say it will.
BTW, I'm pretty sure the limitation this company talks about are the same limitations any pc company has faced when making a game for pc and console at the same time. They do not have all the recourses a pc can offer. The graphics cards are not as powerful or do they contain the fast memory or as much memory as graphic cards do on pc. The amount of memory is far less than what is present on most computers. Imagine designing a game with a minimum requirement of 3gigs and then trying to bring t...
BlackKnight, you've got it correct except for one thing. The texture resolution is effected by the size of the medium it is stored on. As you mentioned, ram plays a crucial part in level size, texture quality, amount of 3D meshes being shown on screen. The reason why? Well the higher quality a texture is, the more memory it takes up due to it being a larger file size. You can compress this texture and load it into the ram thus bypassing the dvd storage limitations however this only goes so fa...
If the game truthfully met everyones expectations, there wouldn't be any need to make a sequel. No GT6. Why? Because anything you could want from a sequel would already be in GT5. If it wasn't then it wouldn't of met someones expectations.
A real world example of this: I love the way GT5 looks. I think the cars look just about as good as it gets. The thing that bugs me the most about any racing game so far is the fans. They are either not there at all or just look like crap. I want to ...
I remember reading an article once that stated Bungie was strongly apposed to pirated games. One of the reasons being that Halo 3 had been downloaded by almost half the amount of copies sold. Imagine selling another 2-3 million copies of a game. That is a lot of money lost. I'm sure that is scary.
...Because like the press response from SE to address this very issue said, those shots were released as press kits from before the 360 version had began production. They weren't meant to be up to date or to be used as comparison shots.
I'm sorry. Did I miss somewhere in this article where they mention anything with a DVD? Why the disagrees? I didn't say stuff didn't get cut from the game because of DVD limitations. I just pointed out nothing in this article talked about that and it didn't make sense why he would mention that.
Your allies in the game are based off how bad or good you are. Allies you get when going bad are allies the antagonist would have if he was bad and you were good. Of course there would be neutral allies and paths as well. Were the story would shift from bad/good to two not so good, not so bad guys competing for the same goal. Same with love interest. Ultimately, the good guy falls for the same girl however whoever the bad guy is, ends up killing that girl. If you are the bad guy, you have to ...
