Props that don't disappear take up a lot of memory. The PS3 and Xbox 360 are already pushing those limits.

I never said it was a fact that those are the people complaining, but that it's obvious those are the people complaining.

Why would you complain about GTA IV on PC when you can travel throughout time? Play as your favorite character from other games? Import cars from Forza Motorsport, Need for Speed or Gran Turismo with soft-body physics deformation or load in maps from various games like Red Dead Redemption? Or, for that matter, engage in brand new game modes like carma...

People who complain about GTA IV are obviously playing ont he gimped and worthless consoles. I can't imagine anyone playing the PC version and still complaining.

Dude, it has nothing to do with "giving them a chance" it has everything to do with pre-order hype being irresponsible in the first place.

I don't think any pre-order hype is good because it's rare games turn out good and most times it's a gamble on the end of the consumer to pre-order without being able to play-test the game first (sort of like what Steam has opted to do with the early access where pre-order literally lets you play the game while its b...

WRONG!

It's irresponsible to promote, advertise or influence people to pre-order a game based on hype, a few game trailers and a smoke & mirrors E3 presentation.

Are you so quick to forget Aliens: Colonial Marines?

I'm glad a site has balls to tell people NOT to fall for the hype.

Don't take on the demeanor of a reputation manager just because a game you're looking forward to gets called out on its hype....

@toxic-inferno

I have some games like that as as well, I think they call it Blockbuster Burnout or AAA fatigue or something like that.

I think the biggest problem is the over-saturation of the experience -- we're kinda of bombarded with a lot of these games that beg for our time and yet despite their strong initial appeal, they're not really setup for deep commitments.

I find myself starting a lot of AAA titles and then just not finishi...

Dude... RAGE already has this!

It's disabled on the console version of GTA IV but you can re-enable these features with the realism mod for the PC version of GTA IV.

Vidya Gaem Jurnol1sm just evolved to Vidya Gaem Journalism. I approve.

Yes, I agree.

The only reason I haven't bought into any early-access games is because I don't have time to get involved with the community. But I do plan to do so at some point.

I like that Steam lets devs and gamers have a direct connection like that. It's such a great feature. I sure hope Microsoft doesn't screw it up on the Xbox One.

Those two were pretty cool. That was an awesome interview. Thanks for sharing that.

Amazing how down to Earth those two were.

BroForce is an awesome game and so is Project Awakened. Glad these games got greenlit.

"Conviction felt tenser and more personal than other Splinter Cell games and teased an intriguing shift for the franchise’s future."

Personal? Yes. Tense? No.

Conviction was easy-peasy and I had no problems steam-rolling through that game in about six hours flat. I never fully conquered Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory because it was too hard and I loved that game for that very reason (I also had a ton of other games I was playing at the time, too).

Most of the decently dressed female fighters are usually completely ignored.

So whose fault is it that gamers prefer a certain kind of character wearing certain kinds of clothes (or a lack of clothes)?

It's kind of like supply and demand and despite KOF being one of the few games with a lot of modestly dressed female fighters, they're no where near as popular as those that are offered up as fan-service... such as poison.

Thank you.

I can't believe there are people in here buying into this marketing buzz like it's a fresh new flavor of pizza.

It's sad we've reached this point in gaming where the console wars isn't even about console features anymore, but multimedia stuff that's available right now on just about any smartphone or tablet.

@JokesOnYou

I DID READ THE ARTICLE and that is why I responded with what I responded with. There is NOTHING about this that is the future or beyond what anyone else is doing. We already have this.

You ever heard of House of Cards? Do you not watch original content on YouTube?

So what does that make PC? Eons into the future?

It's funny how these dated features were included in the XB1 and everyone calls it the "future" when ALL of these things have been around on PC for years.

Is this serious or has marketing buzz-feed reached a new height of stupidity?

Is this it? Could it be the start of Order 333? Steam Box + L4D3 at Gamescom and then the roll out of HL3 and Portal 3?

@Major_FitZZ

Not sure if you're being sarcastic but why on Earth would moving into the digital age entail losing your rights and being shepherded around like sheep for the corporations to financially abuse on a whim?

Right now we have good sales from Valve and Steam but it's not like that with any other digital distributor except for maybe GOG/Greenman, but they're independent vendors that don't answer to shareholders like the others.
