Dude, the article is a lot longer than a few sentences.

Did you actually read it?

I couldn't follow what Sony was trying to say in the "this is living" campaign. It was just too confusing.

Only Russbomb seemed to show signs of recognition for the current market trend of the PS3, but there was still a lot of sugar-coated flaming going on with everyone else.

It was tough to tell if the article informed people or just made them [more] angry.

I own an Xbox and every friend of mine who owns an Xbox NEVER had the problems you listed. In fact, my Xbox runs nearly all day long and the only games that sometimes have problems are Ubisoft's games....and sometimes Jet Set Radio Future locks up. But only if the characters get jammed in a wall or something.

But anyway, what kind of crap is that? You must be a Sony fanboy who was paid to post tripe like that.

I also have a few out-of-state friends who are alwa...

Normally articles like this start flame wars. But I'm impressed that everyone is showing decorum in their comments.

I also agree with the poster about 100 million PS2 owners does not equal instant success for the PS3. As history has shown, a huge fanbase for the NES and SNES did not cement the N64 a victory over the atrociously bad PSOne. In fact, I threw the darn thing up in an attic to collect dust, though I still play the N64 and even the Genesis, sometimes.

Let's face it, when you compare any fighting game to the wrestling genre (i.e, SD vs. RAw) they just suck.

Wrestling games offer create-a-characters, progressive (interchangable) storylines, online play, up to eight people on the screen at once and commentary.

I think everyone who says that the fighting genre has maxed its capabilities are dead wrong and ignorant of game development. We still don't have a single fighting game like Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon -...

That game did have a wicked AI. Geist tried to imitate it, but failed miserably.

But it looks like, for now, devs are working harder at giving bad guys facials and soft shadows, rather than thinking power.

Dude, how on earth can a site that has softcore porn for advertisements be a reliable source for console sales?

Added to that, if you even remotely keep up with the NPD results you’ll find that the 360 barely reaches the 200k mark for units sold each month. Just to indulge the fanboys, let’s say that M$ did SELL 9 million by last year November...counting up until now (at an even 200k per month, which the Xbox 360 is not selling consistently) that would only add 1.2 mil to its ...

If you played NG: B on your 360 with an HDTV (not SD) using a VGA component cable, how can the game look as awful as you say it does?

In HD NG: B on the Xbox (or 360) certainly doesn't look as bad as the Gamespot screenshots.

THWIP, I understood him just fine. I respect the comparison because that's sort of what I was saying all along.

It's not about whether the PS2 was the most powerful console of the last gen, or if the Xbox was the most powerful.

*Edit: It's more so that a lot of people (myself included) expected the same kind of "wow" factor from the 360 that the original Xbox had when it first debuted with Halo. It was expected of M$ to out-do what they did the first t...

Actually THWIP, think about it this way:
What PS2 game can you compare to the PS3, graphically? And actually go "Wow" the PS2 almost looks like the PS3? None. That's a testament to the upgrade the PS3 has over the PS2. If you look at the change from the Xbox to the Xbox 360, it's not quite as impressive. The screenshots showcase how the original Xbox was a breakthrough in gaming and yet it's not the same for the 360, so far.

And FeralPhoenix...I did modify the ...

I just don't understand why we're supposed to cheer on the Xbox 360 when the former big-black-box had games that looked as impressive as some PS3 ports.

This was certainly not the case if you compare the PSX and the SNES.
Or the N64 and the Sega Genesis. I know the PS3 is a pain to program for, but what's the excuse for the 360? It was supposed to be developer friendly. Why do so many of the games still not look impressive? Why was the original Xbox so cool and differen...

Gatlin, dude you make some good points...

Everyone is so focused on the Beta seeming self-sufficient enough to magically alert Bungie of user complaints, they tend to forget that the whole point of the Beta going public was so users could inform each other and Bungie about the problems in the Beta.

If you play an MMO during its Beta usually people rant and complain until problems are fixed. I'm glad some people are at least bringing out the flaws in the Beta. Otherwi...

The PS2 was in competition with the Dreamcast -- they were part of the same generation of gaming.

Remember the cheaper PS3 died because no one bought it. Its sales were even more dire than the $599 PS3. So maybe price isn't everything. If people just had to have a PS3 (the same way they wanted a 360) why not just buy the cheaper one and wait for the great games?

So apparently it is the software, because the the Core/Premium 360s are still shifting units for people who just want to play games. I think the price is still steep for the PS3, but I think it's the lack of softwa...

It's weird because Wii games are getting simpler, yet they keep propelling the Wii's success. Developers are literally throwing things together (Alien Syndrome) just to pick up on the money train that is the Wii craze...

I guess this means we'll get the original Pong publicized and re-relased for the Wii. And somehow it'll end up all over the news and will go double platinum. Old folks will sit around saying "Oh sonny, I didn't know they had games out like this". <...

Maybe M$ will just take note of all the people who try to log-in to the Beta and then close it down, this way a whole lot of people will have bought Crackdown for no reason.
