@UltraNova
So you want it to be rushed and buggy like Mass Effect Andromeda?
Nah, it died pretty quickly out of the gate due to the disc-locked content or on-disc DLC. That news spread around all over the place, and most people refused to support Capcom's practice of locking away tons of paid content on the disc itself. That's not to mention that some of the gems were also DLC, so Capcom was pulling a Star Wars Battlefront 2 before EA even came up with the whole pay-to-win DLC mechanic in a premium priced, competitive game.
The death threats were a hoax. Kotaku (of all people) confirmed that the dev claiming to have received the death threats didn't even work for EA.
It's about par the course with every other AAA title. It took MGS 5 five years. It took Mass Effect Andromeda five years. It took Fallout 4 around five years to make as well. None of those games are as big or have the fidelity of Star Citizen. Why would you expect a game with a procedurally generated universe and cinematic-quality visuals to launch in a shorter time frame than those other titles?
That's not to mention that certain modes in some games become completely non-functional for the Wii U, such as the asymmetrical multiplayer or the head-to-head mode in ZombiU.
It would be a huge step backward for Nintendo to remove the GamePad and would be a serious showing of their lack of confidence in their own product.
Yeah if we're counting "mediocre" titles EA and Ubisoft would have to have many of their games extricated from the store.
Okay, no. Sorry. I looked at them and other than some slight lighting changes, they don't look that "massive".
Some of the PS3 shots actually look very impressive measured up against the PS4.
Consistent frame-rate versus spotty frame-rate.
Doesn't take a genius to do the math.
He really beat her to the punch.
Yeah I agree. Too many other commentators just seem like it's a job and they're going through the motions.
The commentators at EVO get hyped just like the people watching and it sends chill bumps down the arms once those epic moments happen and everyone gets excited.
Nintendo is very indie friendly. They were handing out free Unity Pro licenses to select registered developers. They also eased up on their concept approval process and setup more options for allowing developers to deal with dev kit fees.
They've been very indie friendly since last year, which is why so many indie games are now coming to the eShop.
No, we just don't like being screwed.
Dang this is actually a pretty useful article. I wish sites like this were around back during the Doom days of trying to find workarounds for the Expanded memory problems :(
This is very good news. I don't understand why they never give this guy time to fulfill his visions.
Wii U had an ugly start but they're turning it all around.
Oh that's kind of cool.
Sales data.
Asia is known for free-to-play games, mobile titles and MMOs. That's where they make most of their money from.

lol, vague MS response. You know what would be hilarious is if the servers shutdown but GFWL only received "support" in the form of Microsoft keeping the name alive.
Also, if diversity is the thing that's supposedly going to "magically" drive sales, why the heck wasn't AC: Liberation as big a seller as previous entries? Or why is it that mediocre action games like Wet or Remember Me don't sell as much as other mediocre action games where the lead isn't a female protagonist?
If simply being "diverse" would drive up sales from people who pass up a game because of gender/race differences, then games that ...
Given that most video game "journalists" are kids with degrees in English and next to zero knowledge about video games, I would probably say 'yes'... it is his first console generation.
Smaller budgets? Smaller scopes?
Why do people keep saying "player expectations" as if it's some all encompassing zeitgeist that must be sated?
Cuphead moved 2 million units in a fairly short amount of time and was made on a pretty small budget. Life Is Strange is another game that seems to sell well on a smaller budget and is a narrative-heavy game and the graphics aren't that great at all.
I think expectations are...
