An absolute idiot would have to be hit with an autistic stick to believe that GTA V on dated consoles would be 1080p native.
That...or they've got hold of some of the best hash in town...mmm...hash.
Well good for you. Because of GFWL there are some games I've paid for and CANNOT play at all because there's a glitch where it won't save the progress to the profile. There is no fix, there is no patch and I'm not going to format my hard drive to try to get it working.
Anyone who supports GFWL supports the death of gaming because the only way to get some stuff working is to pirate the game.
Thanks Microsoft for trying to kill PC gaming with G...
Yeah it's not like they deserve to be put on a pedestal or anything.
If someone's game or movie or music sucks and they ask you about it, you can just politely tell them "Sorry but your game sucks more hairy monkey balls than a zookeeper with a dirt devil."
I can't watch the video. I'm just not going to.
But can someone answer me this:
Did she bring up Legend of Ilya? How about Super Brothers Sword & Sworcery? Giana Sisters? Bleed? Age of Enigma? Post Mortem?
Did she at least give props to the dozens upon dozens of indie games with solid, strong female leads? Or is it just more crapping on males and male gaming?
This.
Activision is making a killing of braind-dead noobs who keep buying maps they already paid for to minimize the fragmented multiplayer scene so that they can "play with friends".
The cash grabbiness is off the chain with some games.
Sorry dude, highly disagree.
Look at the original Baldur's Gate, look at the new Shadowrun Returns, look at Dark Souls... we still enjoy good games we just don't like crap and cash-ins. Nowadays we have a lot of crappy cash-ins.
Publishers have become lazy and forced devs to make bad cash-in games and gamers have grown tired of it.
Yeah old NES games were hard but SNES, PSX and PS2 games were great fun and offered amazing nostalgic mo...
I disagree about longevity.
Jim Sterling made a good point. Why would you add DLC to cheat the game and power-level or unlock everything if you don't want people to trade it in? Also a lot of newer games are made to be conquered quickly with checkpoints every five seconds and eight hour play times.
DLC cheats + short play time + no new game plus + lots of checkpoints = a game I play once and trade in once I'm done.
Horse mod? Piano mod? LOL???
Nah, they should have listed more inventive mods:
You want realism and cool driving? Download the Forza/Gran Turismo cars of your choice and race to your heart's content.
You want some really trippy adventures? Get the Back to the Future mod with the updated flying time travel. That still blows my mind and I have no idea how they did that.
Also make sure you get the updated one that allows you t...
They just recycled assets.
If you look at many of the cars in Max Payne 3 they're all from GTA IV. They even used the same bullet physics models and explosion effects for the cars from GTA IV (or GTA V, depending on how you want to look at how they scaled the assets).
I don't know about marketing... the first Wii didn't have a strong marketing presence at all. It was mostly word of mouth.
I think good games, exclusive games and a holiday price cut should be enough to grab the attention of core gamers. That's who Nintendo needs to win over this time around because casuals are poor these days and they can't afford to be a fad whore so they can paste a picture of themselves on Facebook with a Wiimote in their hand and say &quo...
Games, games and more games.
Fixed.
LOL dude... BULLSHOTS?! Are you serious?
All Project CARS media assets are from the actual gaming community snapping shots while they play. There are no press assets for Project CARS at all!
This is the one game where what you see is what you get if your PC can handle it.
The Wii U version will supposedly be 720p at 30fps, I have no idea what the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions are going to be but they should just scrap them and port to the PS4 and...
Cool story, bro.
Send the check my way next time your sister-in-law makes that much money.
Exactly this.
A lot of people also don't know that "current gen" game engines are downscaled for today's current generation consoles.
Many engines have been underutilized because they've scaled well beyond the capabilities of the PS3 and Xbox 360.
I was pretty sure ND had already showcased a high-poly version of Drake in their engine before he went into the low-poly version for use in Uncharted 3 on the PS3.

@JP1369
He's sort of right. Look at the profit margins for a lot of AAA publishers and you'll see that most of it is in the millions. The only people hitting solid billions on the fiscal year in profit are online game publishers and casual/social publishers.
This.
I'm tired of all the Wii U hate and how they say Nintendo is rehashing old IPs, yet if this game doesn't sell they have only themselves to blame.
Nintendo pumped out a system with respectable specs, it can hang with the PS4/XB1 on the gaming front (especially after realizing both Sony and MS's systems aren't all that hot compared to mid-ranged PCs) and yet people still rag on it for being "last gen" and "not having any gam...
Well, that's nice of you to educate us on that front Mr. Chivalry Puritan, however some people do like games that exercise exaggerated fantasy that you can't find in real life for the very fact that you can't find it in real life.
I'm not saying I agree with or like the character designs, I'm simply saying that it aims to fulfill a niche that some individuals enjoy from indulging in a fantasy universe.
You know... because lightsabers aren...
Obviously the next-gen consoles... notice the rain particles, the crash effects, the draw distance... unless Microsoft and Sony recently upgraded the GPUs in the 360/PS3, the current-gen consoles aren't capable of some of those effects.
spinalc0rd gives the best advice.
The game will look crappy on Xbox 360/PS3 compared to the next-gen versions. There will be HUGE gaps in quality.
However, if you don't mind a game that looks par the course for other open-world games on the 360/PS3 then it's no problem.
If you actually want to play the game the way it was meant to be played then you should definitely get it for a next-gen console.
This is it, exactly.
Microsoft went about it in a greedy douche bag way and they got treated like greedy douche bags.
If they wanted to be like Steam how about they first fix GFWL? I mean, WTF?! Why would I trust Microsoft to handle a locked down DRM system when they can't fix their own DRM system currently ruining games and services on PC?
Worse yet is that they had an opportunity to build an audience with their Games on Demand services but...
