Bubbles, sir.
The baby would mutate into a growling, untameable beast...oh wait, nevermind, that already exists in the form of 4chan.
They would fit in well over there.
What are these exclusives people keep talking about other than Forza? Titanfall isn't exclusive to the XB1 and only Project Spark (which is also going to be on the Xbox 360) looks really interesting.
Launch wise the console seems to have a bunch of multiplatform titles, none of which seem all that great. Maybe I'm missing something?
True.
But publishers state that console holders get like a bit for royalties, retailers get a small cut and then manufacturing and production.
So even if we say pubs get half of the SRP, we're looking at $30 a pop per every new copy of the game. And even at 3 million, that's $90 million (which is what the Last of Us made in just three weeks).
So yeah, Transporter47 is right, Cliff is on crack to suggest that a game would need to sell...
@cell989
Pandamobile is right.
EA spent $50 million marketing Battlefield 4 and Activision spent nearly twice as much to market Call of Duty (can't remember which one, it was either Modern Warfare 3 or Black Ops 2, you'll have to google it to see)
Majority of the budget for AAA games go into their marketing. We all know it certainly isn't spent on actual gameplay mechanics because those are usually non-existent save for walking ar...
Have a bubble, my friend.
It had to sell 5 million copies within its first two quarters of release.

So what happens when the pre-order lists, the polls and the consumer interest outlets all point toward massive sales for the PS4? What do we point to and blame at that point?
You know, I actually agree.
WHERE are all the articles on N4G and from gaming media talking about Monolith's 'X' or potential games people want to see on the Wii U? Or games that could benefit from the GamePad? Or inside info on upcoming titles for the console? Where is it all?
Seems like most of it is all about talking down about the Wii U, even if the site isn't necessarily being negative.
Think about the headline(s) and th...
Dat picture...
Reeks of sub-contracted evil. I wonder how much of the actual work they're going to do no the PS4 and XB1? They'll probably get Platinum Games to slave away at 80% of it and then if it's good, finish the last 20% and say it was all theirs to begin with.
That's because a lot of them sound like shill accounts or spout off untrue stuff.
Seriously, the XB1 is just a PC with all the bad parts and none of the good parts.
I honestly don't see what people are excited about.
By comparison at least the Wii U is a real game console and has some game-centric features.
For $500 you're getting a boxed-in PC with no modding, no open-source and no third-party peripheral suppo...
That's Doritocracy for you.
Actually, you're right...
Sleeping Dogs was pretty much a spot-on alternative to Max Payne 3 while maintaining similar mechanics.
It was a lot closer to MP3 than Kane & Lynch (no offense Pancit) and Splinter Cell.
@ifritAlkhemyst
That's the thing -- in Max Payne 3 you had options. You could run and gun if you were good enough, you could pick your shots from a safe place if you wanted, or you could tactically or strategically take guys out with a mix of play-styles. You didn't really have that option in Stranglehold, it was just mostly run-and-gun if you wanted to survive the wave-based enemies.
"all the features"?
Please. This is still an overpriced PC with none of the benefits. You can't mod your games, you don't get word processing, video editing or graphic design tools and you're trapped within a closed system that is made up of mostly a lot of multiplatform titles save for whatever first-party games Microsoft has in store outside of Halo.
People have to be completely blind to see a system with lower specs than the PS4, a la...
lol what?
Stranglehold was terrible.
Graphics were pretty good for an early UE3 title and they still hold up today, but the game was essentially a glorified arcade rail-shooter.
You couldn't "play it safe" and the whole game encouraged you to wastefully run through the level as fast as possible knocking off headshots along the way. I thought they wasted a ton of good looking and well-designed set pieces so players could blast ...
What do you mean by "game design jobs more accessible to women"?
Last I checked there's no gender barrier when making games in the indie space. Heck, if a female designer wants to get a game kickstarted with a female protagonist, she just has to take the idea and her design skills to Kickstarter or Greenlight.
HammadTheBeast makes a good point.
Microsoft publishing games doesn't really hold the same weight as say, Sony or Nintendo publishing games.
They gave up some of their exclusives over the course of the Xbox 360's lifespan.
Quantum Break might be the same way.
lol, someone really needs to fix the changes so this article can get approved. This is hilarious.
I wonder what it feels like at the MS home office in Redmond when the marketing manager walks in and tosses the pre-order stats on the table...I can imagine it now...
Ballmer: What the f*** is this?!
Feeble Marketing Manager: Uhhh...it's the pre-order stats from Amazon, sir.
Ballmer: I see that, but why is the Xbox One behin...
