"These guys in the thread are basically saying they are paying to demo games before they buy. Instead of the old way when gamers got *FREE* demos to try before we bought a game."

Uh, no. They are paying to access a large number of COMPLETE games. Not sure how you could not understand that. You do understand that the games on Game Pass are the same games as you would buy, right? They don't usually include DLC, that is an optional purchase, just like it is i...

Wreckfest and Destroy all Humans are a couple of recent ones that I thought were interesting, but I wouldn't have taken a chance on them.

"E3 2019 was a big year for Microsoft’s press conference. The main event was held on June 9th, 2019 at the Microsoft Theater with a large batch of trailers and surprise reveals throughout. The conference was an eccentric mix of trailers showing footage from titles such as The Outer Worlds, Ori & the Will of the Wisps, Minecraft Dungeons, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Blair Witch, Cyberpunk 2077, Spiritfarer, Battletoads, The Legend of Wright, Microsoft Flight Simulator, Age of Empire...

It's pretty fun. I picked it up for $30 a couple of months ago. Not sure I'd pay the full $60, but as an old Rockband guy, it's fun.

Lets see it the Xbox fanboys show up bragging about how this was on Game Pass a year and a half ago.

While I agree that, personally, I find it pretty boring. I loved looking at it, beautiful game, but I just couldn't get into it. I think a lot of that is because it is meant to create a world to live in, basically a cowboy sim, with some action. I will probably buy it eventually just to see if I can eventually get into it, but I think most of the problem is with me. As far as "open world", I guess that depends on how you define it. It is, I think undeniably, one of the most...

I have somewhat fond memories of Blockbuster, but more were frustrating about not having the game I was looking for. Sure, I did discover some gems, but not nearly as many as I do now on Game Pass. True, I might not give them as much of a chance as I would if it was the only game I had been able to bring home from the store that week, but more often than not the game was what it looked like, average at best.

Not sure of the age of the writer but I think most of this can b...

"split screen: Well... yes but now we have online multiplayer you can game with people on the other side of the world."

Yeah, but that really isn't the same thing. Couch co-op encouraged actual human interaction, that is missing on multiplayer. I guess I don't really understand why both aren't able to be included on some games. I miss the old days of being able to sit down next to an actual person and play a game. I can still do it, as long as I ha...

I'm pretty sure that you get the "new" ending on LE. Of course you may still find that to be "crushingly disappointing", but I guess that is just personal preference.

@neomahi: " PlayStation releases games that I set apart several days where I lock myself in a room with a DO NOT DISTURB sign. I cut myself off from society and live an experience from start to finish."

I appreciate your devotion to gaming, but most people don't have the ability to do that. It sounds like GP is not a good option for you. I, on the other hand, am older and don't have hours to devote to gaming (anymore, used to be just like you!!), so for ...

The first paragraph of the article is:

I am thrilled to announce that Dark Alliance will be available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Windows 10 PC, and phones and tablets via Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) with Xbox Game Pass on Day One, June 22! The game will also support PC and console cross play at launch!

There are dozens of articles on this. Here is one

They all pretty much say the same thing. Deals are made on a per developer basis. For some this is a good and successful model. Others find it good to extend the life of a game after it has been out a few months. Some like to launch day one for the buzz. Phil Spencer is on r...

I think they listed them from worst to best. Also keep in mind that this includes Andromeda characters that aren't part of the remastered trilogy. Interesting refresh on the characters though.

I'll give that a shot, especially being on GP. Needed to make sure it wasn't turn based though. I was getting it confused with Baulders Gate

Yeah, guess I just kinda like stirring the pot sometimes!! I knew it would go down this way, but it's fun to watch from the peanut gallery!!

Your opinion, not necessarily that of the poster

I am 100% an Xbox guy and I can find nothing wrong with what you are saying. At this point it just isn't worth it. Now as a rule, I always wait at least a year before upgrading, as usually in the first year developers really haven't figured out the new system yet and there are still many cross gen titles to choose from.

For me, personally, the same would apply to the PS5, though I think you can make a MUCH more effective argument about jumping in on that new syste...

The answer is to beat the game. A lot of words to say that!!

I thought I was the only one who forgot how to play a game when I set it down for a couple of months!!
