It would be no different than having Netflix installed on your TV, which most TV's currently offer.
Well, Sony does make TV's. I think they are going to wait and see how this goes for MS. Sony is in a very good position right now and it wouldn't surprise me to see them follow suit if MS is successful. For those who keep saying that Sony tried this 7 years ago...the internet was in a very different place then. Even now, you need a good, fast, solid connection for this to work. Just because someone failed with new tried tech 7 years ago, doesn't necessarily mean it's a bad...
This is a constant and real issue. However, think how many more people today have access to high speed internet than 10 years ago. This is a long term play for MS. You don't wait until everyone is able to access something. You start early, and figure out the way to work out the issues. Then by the time everyone else figures it out, you are ahead of the game. The is the MS plan. I am not a fortune teller, so I do not know if it will be successful or not. I tend to think that it wil...
I could see them partnering with a TV manufacturer (Sony?? LOL) to make an Xbox TV just as a demo. Some people would buy it, but the main play is getting the app for Smart TV's. Apparently you an do a work around already if you have an Android TV, but they would really need to get a company like Roku on board to really make this work.
Forgot you can do that. Will do today, thanks for the reminder

Even though mobile games are not for me, I think this is just representative of my age. Mobile is the fastest growing game segment out there. Doesn't do much for me personally, but that is still a pretty wide open market that nobody is really dominating just yet. Not saying MS will be that company, but I have a hard time knocking for trying to get a piece.
Who knows, maybe if everyone is using a common interface to access their games (like GP app) more might move f...
Yea, I don't get the hate from PS people. The fact of the matter is that Xbox has some good first party releases and have a good deal of potential to present an even better line up. Time will tell if that happens, but why would a PS owner not want to be able to download an app, get a free trial of GP, and check out some of these games that they are complaining about, most of whom who never tried it...because it really doesn't make since for most people to lay out $500 just to play a...
I wouldn't say "never", but not just yet
I think it's just for game clips
Really looking forward to trying this.
I wonder how many people actually read the article before commenting. The article was about what Microsoft's plans were for the Games With Gold program, not about if they wanted to get rid of the whole live program.
While it is obvious that Microsoft's game plan is to try to get as many subscribers to Game Pass. They seem to be all in on that. They have already opened up multiplayer on free to play games, but you still need Gold for paid multiplayer. Being that ...
^^^THAT^^^
Just don't forget to cancel before your trial ends. Not really that big a perk, and I'm a big Game Pass guy
I think every game goes out with some bugs. With the size of games these days, especially with 3 games together, everything can't be caught. It is a massive piece of software.
Good to see they are going to update this. Haven't had a chance to play yet, but am looking forward to it!
I don't really have an opinion one way or the other, but didn't MS state that all 1st party games will also be supported on last gen systems? Personally, even though I still have a OneX I thought a year of support was sufficient. Did they change their minds on this?
You can usually pick it up for half price by then. Games prices drop quickly these days. I mean, if you haven't played it, it is still the same game 6 months later. Maybe better if there were launch issues.
If you are on a computer frequently there is also Microsoft Rewards quiz daily, and you can get an extra 150 points just of clicking on Bing searches. Takes me 5 minutes a day and I haven't paid for Game Pass a couple of years. I have also cashed in a couple of hundred dollars of Kindle and Microsoft gift cards over last couple of years.
I actually think that is how they currently do it. They may change that in the future, but for now.
"Project xCloud uses Microsoft’s Azure data centers’ hardware to render gaming experiences remotely, and the games will then be streamed to your device of choice. Each server blade has the internals of four Xbox One S systems, if the demonstration video Microsoft released is accurate."
