Other benefits:
never worry about scratching discs, losing discs (borrowing, stolen etc)
games tied to your account like steam.
don't pay taxes on games (equal to $5 off all full retail games)
supporting sony/ms/n more directly and not supporting places like gamestop & walmart.
Everyone's really written this guys off lately. Everything I've seen gameplay wise looks awesome and fun and I'm still completely onboard. You can show me gifs all day of ps3/360/wii-u footage and tell me it's ps4 but I don't believe it. All demos I've watched look great.
How about we give devs a chance to build engines from the ground up for next gen first, huh? Oh no, sorry, that won't work, you expect everything to be fully realized out of the gate. There's no denying how much more horsepower these machines carry over their predecessors and there are already some fine examples of jaw dropping graphics that couldn't be achieved with last gen hardware. KZ, ryse & infamous come to mind. 2 of those are 1080p and the other is 900p. Those are all ...
I think it's a good mix... I'm personally tired of games that want to do both (most of which fail). I'd rather devs focus on one or the other.
TF being mp only and Infamous SS being sp only mean we get 2 extremely focused AAA titles that don't half ass one aspect or the other.
Video games need more focus and less "let's get a piece of every pie!" mentality.
Well definitely not logic or rational thinking, then.
I'm very pro Sony but MS is taking solid steps forward lately to at least not make me so anti-MS. They seem to be getting their act together across the board. Next Windows will default to the desktop, next E3 is said to be all about games for MS... good moves. Good moves.
I gotta hand it to MS... I was SURE servers would crash and people would be furious. Doesn't seem to be the case. I think the whole cloud stuff that "it'll improve power" is BS, but even if it only means online stability then that's still a big plus.
I'm a sony guy and I'm really enjoying the twitch integration on xb1. It really is nicely done.
I have to say I'm very impressed with how good this feature looks to be on xb1. They did a great job.
Or it's because in this day and age you can see HOURS of gameplay before a game is out which SHOULD be enough for you to gage if it's something you'll like.
Years ago we relied on magazines and mostly images (with a FEW videos), so demos were necessary to get people more excited.
Also considering the fact that it's not like you just go File > Export Demo > Save to make a demo. It takes time and money to make demos.
You'd place more importance on hacking mini games via gamepad over a more immersive next-gen world?
Possibly. Publishers are cutting cost however they can. Wii U development might not worth the investment.
bareboned mp game - 9.0.
TLoU - 7.5
Seems legit.
Just wait til the 21st.
MS definitely won in this deal. EA lost BIG TIME though.
Tacky voice? Really? I always said that about Hayters voice. It always felt so forced. I know I'll get hate for saying that, I did enjoy Hayter's work, but mainly because it was all I ever knew of Snakes voice. Honestly what I've heard from Sutherland, it sounds more believable.
You know you can comment on articles without reading them. people do it all the time here.
review scores are dumb. KZ was a lot of fun and people will no doubt have a good ol time with TF.
Hell, I'm still on Thief and love it! and that's sitting at a ridiculous 68 metacritic.
Or shelling out $60 for a half finished game and then $50 more for the rest of the content.
@kingdip90, good points. My hope is resting with Google Fiber. They can save the internet.
Although data caps have always existed as far as I know. That wasn't relegated to a NN issue. NN kept places from blocking services and/or slowing the speeds of certain services.
Lack of NN is likely to be abused mostly with streaming. But for large downloads... they don't care if you're buying digital over retail games. They can about you streaming netflix...
