Quality over quantity, folks. They're cleaning house to make way for a more focused gaming division and less... Kinect stuff.
I do like Tv shows. And games. But not together. And mark my words, this will be the biggest downfall of this game. All the 7.0 and 7.5 reviews that talk about what a masterpiece it could've been if only it weren't for those pesky, lengthy tv show interruptions... just wait.
I think it looks great as a shooter. But my hold up is I don't want a 20 minute cutscene of live action footage breaking it up. Games & TV should remain separate for the sake of immersion.
In the same way I don't want breaking bad interrupted with me as walter in a shootout, I don't want a game interrupted with me now watching a tv show. It's not a knock on the story or anything (i haven't played it) but I don't have to play something to know I don...
My guess is he got his wires crossed in the interview. What I think he was thinking was that it costs (roughly) twice as much as an XBO to play PC games on par with an XBO. Not simply the GPU like he suggested.
He's still off, but not AS off.
Actually the part thats more work for devs IS the opitmization for consoles because their hardware is weaker than even a mid-range gaming pc. Skyrim ran at 60fps on my (then) 3 year old build when it struggled to keep 30fps on console. How was that more work for devs on the PC side?
The niche is real
To be fair, MS has adjusted what it is you're paying for greatly. What once was everything behind a pay wall (and no *free games) is now *free games and playing online only, everything else is 100% free. It feels to me like Gold is evolving into a service more about *free games and will ultimately be that alone with online MP being 100% free.
Because this was a japanese game, which they marketed towards america with some WCW guys.
I think the point is that Revenge's engine debuted in this game.
I think the point is that initially there were fears of this but as they talked through it they felt confident it wouldn't. Do you really think they would've if they felt it could very well ruin consoles?
Different take on the car analogy...
PC: Muscle Car you fixed up in your garage. Hand picked every part. It's your baby, it'll go faster than most other production cars, looks cooler. Can be a bit pricey depending on parts but for the results you get, it's cheaper than buying a ferrari. Continue tweaking components on it to your liking as long as you want.
Console: A hyundai. Didn't cost much, gets you where you need to go albeit not super fas...
I mean you have to be realistic. I want it to be available outside of the window store as much as the next guy but I get it...
at the end of the day if it means me getting to play it on my new rig, I call that a win.
I feel old. I just don't get MOBAs.
that's the way to go!
Genuine question: Is the TV show part integrated into the game or is it a show on the side?
From the article:
"It’s no secret that many Xbox exclusive games are also available on PC, and with Ubisoft’s The Division available for both Windows 10 and Xbox One with one purchase, it surely begins to highlight their intent."
Is it just me or is the author saying there's crossbuy for the Division? I've not heard this news and can't find any indication of that being accurate. Perhaps they're confused with Quantum Break?
That was my fear watching streams of the beta. I've hated this 'bat vision' since day damn one. I've called it "cheater's vision" for a reason. 20 years ago this cheater's vision would've been something you used a game genie to unlock for kicks. Now it's standard practice. It sucks the fun out of a game. There's something so fun about exploration and finding things you may have missed and not always knowing what's around the next corner (and ...
Here, have my disagree, sir. Respectfully, of course. Because no one really enjoys hitting the disagree button.
STEP OFF YONA BEN TO A NOTTA DA KILL YOU KNOW A SEE A KNOW BENNA DAT CHU WILL
or however the disturbed theme went.
I honestly didn't know the live action stuff was skippable... that instantly makes me more excited for the game.
