No it isn't, the only console to ever beat the PS3 in the first year is the Wii.
IMO too many people want the PS3 to fail, they want Sony to lose this round. They will forgive anything that Microsoft and Nintendo do as long as Sony don't win.

I do not feel cheated, in fact I want Sony to get as many people as possible to buy the PS3. I have enjoyed my console so far and know I have many more years use yet.
I know only by console sales will software companies make games for the PS3. So if they release a new SKU at a cheaper price then I am happy as it will cement a large game library in the future.
The 2nd biggest critisism of the PS3 this year (the first being lack of games), was Sony's price of the PS3. Now finally Sony are offering the 2 SKU's:
60gig (add to that 80gig when the 60gig runs out) for £349
and
40gig for £299
One with BC and one without. So what is the problem? You want backwards compatability you pay for the more expensive model.
As for pricing in the US, IMO the 80gig will drop to $499 ...
Gonna get the game, I like RPG's and this looks pretty dam fine.
The older reviews as I remember was for the Japanese version of the game. Jap text / voice over - so they could not understand the game and what the storyline was. So the score was reflective of gameplay only not storyline based play. As with any RPG unless it comes with a script, many frustrating hours looking for which way to go and what you are meant to be doing.
For me the Keyboard and Mouse option is a big plus. All consoles with usb slots games should be keyboard and mous compatible, especially FPS.
Sorry but, how many of those things listed do you notice when playing?? None IMO, why? Because the game is fun as it is, yes there will be updates, but this just seems to be someone nit-picking at Warhawk.

It is likely to be either the new SKU, which it is not a price drop, the console it the 40gig format is new, anyone thinking otherwise should consider the Elite as a price increase.
I would like to see one of the following (not that I think these will be):
1) God Of War 3 announced.
2) The purchase of Take Two and Rockstar. With a Christmas release of GTA 4.
3) MGS 4 before Christmas and Dual Shock 3.

This is a shame and not just because of the PS3 not getting the game.
Whilst Microsoft are ahead on sales this plan can / will work. But if the combined sales of the PS3 and Wii grow large enough, Microsoft will force the developers to chose between developement for the 360 or the PS3 and the Wii.
I like the draw distance and the fact that for once a jungle level that isn't just overcrowded with trees.

Everytime I have seen something new on this game it has impressed me more and more. Day 1 purchase for me aswell.
When you consider the improvements in gameplay, speed and graphics, this could be the killer app. Not that many games before have not been / going to be worth playing, but the franchise has always been of a high standard.
IMO it would be hard to convert MGS4 to the 360. It would take multiple disks, you need to store the control system on each disk, if every 360 had a hdd then this would not be an issue. I do not mean that in a flaming way, but if you have to retred through levels it could become a problem.
IMO if they are going to be released you would be looking at late 2008 / 2009, but I don't think it will happen. I can see another FF franchise on the 360 and maybe MGSO being converted to 36...
This is likely to be real. Aswell its not really a price cut and the price is slightly more customer friendly.
This was not announced at the TGS as Halo 3 was going to be released within a couple of weeks. IMO Sony will announce this around the time of UT3, its a big release, timed exclusive and if they chuck in a rumble pad (I know they have mentioned next year for outside of Japan) alot of people could be persuaded into purchasing the machine in time for Christmas.
IMO both have their own merits and both have their own problems.
4 of us got together last night for a fragfest, played Halo 3 for around 2 hours, then Warhawk went on for around 6 hours. I admit I am a Sony fanboy, I would not own an XBox (Windows XP done my head in for nearly 2 years blue screens all the time) and Nintendo used to be my console of choice until the N64 (third-party software is very thin on the ground.
So by definition alone I am a Sony fanboy, but I also accept that competition is a good thing, Halo 3 may be a good game, but how good will Killzone 2 and Resistance 2 be because of it (companies 1-upping each other).
For once this has nothing to do with Microsoft, nor anything to do with Sony.
IMO some of the best software ever (PSN and retail) have appeared on a Sony system during its first year (as in normally year 1 is quite dull on the games front). The games whilst not the best on the planet, survice until the big guns hit. It is the same with any console, I mean come on how many 360 owners have been waiting for Halo 3 and Nintendo its Mario.

I agree that Halo 3 is selling well, I also agree that Microsoft may well sell well with it.
But - to count Sony out because of one game? last time round Sony had 3-4 years before it started selling well. So it sold the most the last 3-4 years. It actually sold 4 times as many consoles in the later stages. The PS3 is in year 1, I would expect it to make at least 6...
IMO if MGS 4 is around 5-6 hours long it will be worth it (looks to have good replay value especially if it has multiple endings). But if MGO is half as good as Warhawk I would be happy to pay extra, if not then I will only buy MGS4.
IMO no, most consoles sell more during later years not the first year. Yes Sony has made some mistakes and yes the media do seem hell bent on destroying Sony's name, but the system is far from a total failure.
If Sony only expected this console to last another 2-3 years, then they would be in a dire position, but they expect the console to last around another 6 years at least.
