It's okay they are entitled to their own opinion, they can slate the unfinished game all they want, do the same to the finished product. But it will not change the minds of people who play it. There will be a demo on the PSN and pretty much 90% of people will download it and play it. Then people can make up their own minds.

For me the problem lies in the fact that originality does not matter anymore. Graphics seem to matter more than gameplay and it seems that some companies will drop a reviewer for giving his honest opinion of a game.
I used to buy around 3-4 magazines per month to get a mix of reviews and also look online. Now I do not bother with a single magazine nor look online. I normally look at screen shots, video's or demo's then decide for myself.

I only know one person who got 100% on San Andreas. So to me whilst the DLC may appeal to hardcore GTA fans, I do not see as it will matter to the average player.
Having said that for people who own both consoles, the 360 version would be the better purchase because of this.
IMHO 5 minutes is nothing and if it installs and cuts out any load time at all, all the better.
And lets face it, you may save well over 5 minutes off loading times by the install. The game is 50 hours long.
Also if every 360 owner had a HDD in thier console, I would hazard a guess there would be a 5 minute install too.
Calling shananigans on this, not saying that there may not be a few PS3's that are going wrong, but they are making this sound way worse than it is.
I know fanboy's will love this, Xbox fanboys - will claim that the PS3 is as bad as the 360's problems and Sony fanboys - will claim that it is no where near as bad as 360 problems.

As a games machine, no. Graphics seem to matter more and more and they shouldn't. Yes they are nice and can enhance the gaming experiance, but they should not define on wither or not a game is good or not. In that respect - gameplay the Wii can keep up with the PS3 and 360 just fine. And that is where it matters.
Sorry but, if anything is going to fall in the next few years it will be PC gaming. With the cost of a high-end PC rising every few months and new components coming out more often and to that that consoles are getting closer in graphics and are a lot less money.
Yes the way consoles are heading now is a more multi-media direction, but I cannot see them disappearing any time soon.

I would rather have a finished game than have to download patches taking up hdd space. I would rather see the game not crash and remain stable throughout the gaming experiance. And I would definately rather have the game running at a fast pace and no corners have had to be cut to get the game out on time.
I do not remember GG ever giving a release date, I remember alot of people giving opinions to when the game would be released and online shops throwing round different release...

The more I play this game the more impressed I am. Multi player is excellent and single player is addictive. I have only just weened myself off Stardust HD and now this little gem has arrived.
Sorry but IMO software companies are killing off the PC market. Yes it is nice when new technology is developed as fast as it is for PC. But now it is getting ridiculous the specs needed to play the new games. A PC that may have been high end 3 years ago will not even run some of the new games.

The only surprise for me was the sales in Japan. The Metal Gear franchise has never been that strong in Japan, it may have sold over a period of time, but never that quickly.
With Gran Turismo 5, Killzone 2, Final Fantasy XIII, Resistance 2, Motorstorm 2 and maybe God of War III in the next year? And whilst some may argue that Resistance 2 & Motorstorm 2 are not system sellers, the others are IMO and can see Sony selling more PS3's on a regular basis.
