IMHO I think it will be a remake a not a sequel, could have a few extra whistles and bells on it, but a remake none the less.
The difference is, whilst a sequel would bring in many $$$, a remake would nearly give them a license to print money.
It is a good game if a little short by what gamers expect today. However it does scare you at points and has a story that makes you want to play it.
I do think it was a good and a bad thing putting on the PSN. Good thing - shows that not only just shooters are coming to the PSN. Bad thing - it is kinda linear, but the story seems to make up for that.
8/10 is about right, but I do think it is worth it if you like Survival Horror games.
Well 12 episodes at around 1gig to 1.4gig each so around the 16-18gig mark. Not installed it all yet as got to free up so hdd space until I fit my larger hdd.
If they mean by that one programming language, but allowing all 3 companies, infact any company to develop their own version of the console (so aslong as it has a Motherboard/CPU, Graphics Card, Memory, Ram and HDD it would), then that could work. I am hazarding a guess you either did not play FFVII or just did not like it or maybe you played it years later when games had moved on. Yes it was not everyones taste, but this was the first FF that hit it big all over the world probably the first JRPG to hit it big.

This is quite a catch for Microsoft, have to congratulate them on that. However this can easily backfire, if the game requires an install or multiple disks with many disk swaps, I can imagine that many people could see the PS3 version as the better option.
The only thing I now hope is that they do not postpone the PS3 version, instead opting to release it later on the 360, allowing both versions to be optimised to the respective consoles.

Most homes have at least one console, back when FF VII came out there was no-where near the install base of now.
They would be idiots not to, really the only question is: which platform will it sell best from a world wide view point? They will only develope this for one console and as I only own one console of this generation, I hope it is the PS3.
I have not had any problems with the update. The only time my PS3 has ever crashed is during 2 of the Return of the Jedi levels on Lego Star Wars. Never a problem with an update.

I would rather have an install that allows the game to run better and / or cuts down loading time than to make sacrifices so there is no install.

I had chance to play this on a 360 over the weekend, I liked it and felt it had some nice touches that I had not seen before in a survival horror game. I know I will pick it up for the PS3 in September.
GTA IV has an okay story that at least kept me interested long enough to complete it. Kinda also liked a few of the characters in the game. So in the end why did I feel disappointed??

No particular order and I might actually buy one of those.
For £20 or $40 it is worth it. A Blu-Ray version would be more appealing to people with the 40gig model.
This is one of the best Survival Horror games ever and it is not just stuff jumping out at you.
