A smart move by Microsoft, this will generate momentum going into Halo 3. IMO they know that UT3 will sell well and as a timed exclusive may fare well for the PS3, we know Halo 3 will sell better, but with the added incentive of a cheaper 360 some people maybe swayed.
I own a PS3 and admit freely that what happened to Bioshock was just crap. Now EA yet again proving that they don't give a damn.
If they did they would make the game bi-annual and charge $15 for an update to teams / new players / rule changes. With most consoles sold (that they have developed for this year) coming with a Hard Drive, it could be possible.
But instead we are stuck with yet another update, at full price.
I have to wait 9 more days..... DAMN IT..... Then it should arrive on disk.....
IMO Sony need to do nothing. They just need to wait around 2-3 weeks, by then the Halo 3 rush will have peaked. I know people will disagree with that, but there are very few games that continue to sell that strongly after launch (so 300-600k week 1 and working its way down from there slowly). I believe Halo 3 will still be in the top 10 at Christmas.

The PS3 will last 7 years at least = 2555 days
Price of a PS3 = $600
That means if you divide 600 by 2555 works out to under $0.24 a day. So is it really that expensive?
IMO you get what you pay for, I am happy with the PS3 and have never seen the system as over priced.
Whilst I agree there should be more content on the PSN, the quality of the games on there is pretty good.
I would like to see more PS1 downloads. Some of the new games look interesting.

Yes I will be buying this game, you either love or hate big battle games. I love 'em.
There is no way PS3 will win this season. The Halo 3 effect, no GTA 4 and strong showings from its competition will stop it this holiday season. That is not to say that there is not good games coming out this year on the PS3, I just feel the momentum is not swinging in Sony's direction fast enough this season.

I look forward to this game. ICO and Shadow Of Colossus are 2 of the best games I played. Originality, gameplay, graphics and sound all worked well together.
IMO if it is on par with the other games Sony will have a pretty good year 2 for the PS3.

IMO Microsoft took something from every XBox owner, the same with Nintendo. Sony may be accused of a console having too long of a shelf-life, but with games such as Shadow Of Collosus, God Of War II & Final Fantasy XII all coming out within the last year, what do you think could have been achieved on the XBox with another year? No-one says that they should have held back on the 360, but they could have given the XBox a proper send off.
I own a PS3, but I know it is far from selling as well as expected. I own a PS3 because I was happy with the other 2 consoles. I have no grudge against any of the other consoles, I have a limited income, so I only choose 1 console per generation.
IMO Sony will not catch the 360 or the Wii as I believe Microsoft / Nintento will both have new consoles out by the time the PS3 is even getting close. Both companies have all but admitted this, Sony is the only company to state 10 yea...
Whilst I think that Microsoft are in a strong position, I do not agree that this year is the be all / end all. The PS2 sold more later in its life, not early on.
IMO the only reason that this year is so important for Microsoft is if they plan to show new hardware next year and release it the year after.

The hardware will last, the point I was making was, that to scrap the PS3 is not a viable option financialy, not that they are going to do that.
