"Lets hope EA/DICE get the message that skimping on content will not be condoned by the gaming community"
Unfortunately that doesn't work if people go out and buy the DLC anyways. They ruin things for the rest of us unfortunately, since they send a clear message to developers that there is a market out there for people who will pay through the nose for this kind of thing.
Unfortunately their games are always loaded with large amounts of DLC and microtransactions. If you actually go and look at how much the last two had, your jaw would drop when you saw the pages upon pages of the stuff on the store. It's appalling, and I always hate when developers start trying to advertise this stuff long before the game is released.
@UlyssesFeral
If I didn't have a PS4 or a copy of Bloodborne, why would I want the framepacing issue to be fixed?
Seriously, think about that for a moment. Also, go and re-read my comment because it seems like you replied without actually understanding anything that I said. I never said that the game runs at 10fps, for example. Maybe if you could put aside your fanboy tendencies and actually read my comment like a normal person, you might have a clearer v...
You're not the only one, I'd love to see that fixed as well because of how frustrating it is. Don't mind the disagrees either, fanboys will defend anything, even if the game ran at 10fps most of the time they'd still say it was perfect and insist that it doesn't need fixing.
Those of us who actually play the game and don't just mindlessly defend everything about it because it's exclusive? Yeah, a lot of us want to see that fixed. You're right t...
It's fascinating to see how level-headed people are when a multiplatform game gets a review like this from GameSpot, compared to when an exclusive game gets a review like this.
If only people could apply this same rationalization of criticism across the board, rather than frothing at the mouth with rage when an exclusive game is subject to similar criticisms and scores.
@TwoForce
You know what's really absurd? The private messages that you were sending me, telling me to leave N4G because you didn't like that I was criticizing Uncharted.
How about for a change, you stop being such a fanboy and try to look at things objectively and with a level head? I mean really, how can anyone say that DLC is really bad in one game, but totally okay in the other because one of them is a new IP? Do you have any idea how ridiculous yo...
Yup, DriveClub's handling of DLC is just as despicable as Forza's, but it's hard for people to accept that when double standards are so prevalent amongst fanboys. I remember when people had a strong backlash against the DLC for Evolve for example, yet the masses of DLC for DriveClub is apparently okay? It's utterly stupid how people will go against their convictions just because an exclusive game pulls the same crap on them.
I mean look at the guy above, he th...
Yes it is. I just wish people could be united in standing against BS like this rather than having double-standards based on fanboy allegiances. Forza having microtransactions is disgraceful and you know what? Naughty Dog's obsession with pay-to-win microtransactions is disgraceful as well.
I wish people could take a stand against all of this, rather than picking and choosing when it's okay and when it's not (usually based on which console they own).
@Imalwaysright
Actually, I think you'll find that method of playing last gen games on a current gen console is completely different from this method of playing last gen games on a current gen console.
Besides, nobody wants to play old games anyway, that's why so much money is spent on making remasters and why so many people buy them.
The funny thing is that people who try to downplay backwards compatibility are usually the same ones touting how great the latest remastered game is. It's kinda like how people will have double standards for stuff like DLC and microtransactions, proclaiming how bad they are until an exclusive game for their favorite console starts to do it, then it's suddenly the best thing ever. It's just silly fanboy nonsense really, they always end up contradicting themselves.
I wonder why they keep making remasters then...
"only a few games coming out next year"
Is that really so different from any other year? That's always been one of Nintendo's biggest problems in my opinion, is their releases are few and far between, which is made worse by the lack of third party support.
Well in the case of indie games, if I see one that I'm interested in then there's a high chance I will have already played it on PC long before the PS4 gets it. Two recent examples of this are Nuclear Throne and Broforce.
Can you really blame the guy for not being impressed with announcements for stuff like the FF7 remake and Shenmue 3? You just know they're games we're going to be seeing at E3 for the next three or four years. The Shenmue 3 announcement was pretty distasteful as well given how it was basically a Kickstarter announcement. Not really in the best of taste to sell tickets for cinema showings of your E3 conference and then ask all your fans to fund a game for you.

The highs for me are Bloodborne and what's been shown of Dreams so far, it looks fantastic. The lows are pretty much everything else.
Interesting way to handle game development really. Release a broken game that's missing even the most basic of features, and as you slowly patch it to get somewhere near a full product people are duped into thinking that they're getting great support.
I remember the last racer that got bikes as DLC, it was an amazing game called Burnout Paradise that actually launched as a full-featured and functioning product. Criterion actually gave away the bikes DLC for free as we...
There was nothing technologically ambitious about the social connectivity of DriveClub because Criterion already pioneered that years beforehand with Autolog. It's hard to forgive DriveClub's hiccups as well since Autolog actually worked and had none of the connectivity problems that Evolution were struggling with for so long.
Criterion did all of this back in 2010, long before Evolution took the stage at the PS4 reveal and said that they had to wait until PS4 to have...
Imagine how impressive a Wipeout game would have been. Studio Liverpool had some technical wizards working on Wipeout HD and it really was a very impressive game on PS3 when it launched, and incredibly fun as well. Absolutely fantastic game.
If Sony had chosen Wipeout instead of the garbage game that DriveClub ended up being, you can bet Studio Liverpool would have delivered their game on time and not only would it have been a technical masterpiece, you can bet it would have ...
I think something that you guys are forgetting about console sales is that a lot of people simply don't have as much disposable income as they used to either. The purchase of a videogame console isn't as easy for some people as it used to be thanks to the economy being the way that it is.
I wouldn't be surprised if there was some relation between that and the popularity of streaming sites such as Twitch either, where there's probably some people who like to wa...
There's something about the developers of a glorified Skinner Box introducing a referral program that just doesn't seem right to me. I can understand from a business perspective sure, but that doesn't make it any less slimy. Sad to see the industry going this route.
