I don't think many people actually play the singleplayer. People will obviously start it up but my vague memories of looking at the trophy statistics the last time I played the game revealed that not many people really bothered with the singleplayer at all, I recall a huge drop in trophy percentages for late-game story-related trophies.

I think that with GTA5, the majority of players really are just playing GTA Online (which is baffling because I think it's a terrible...

They should remove online multiplayer from behind the PS+ paywall like it was on PS3. Having to pay for it when the quality of service hasn't improved (and we still don't have dedicated servers) isn't fair at all.

And yet I'm the only one that's provided hard facts and the proof to back them up :p Meanwhile, it seems the only retort thus far is, "B-b-but Sony owns the IPs!" to which I respond:

Duh.

Of course they own the IPs, I said this in an earlier comment. Doesn't really change much, though. I'd love to see brand new Wipeout/SOCOM games that are good. Anyone being realistic about the matter knows that the chances are slim. Sony owns a lot ...

Yeah, Unreal Engine 4 is actually a great engine. I could understand people groaning if they were using CryEngine or something, but UE4 is solid in my opinion. It should also mean that the PC version of the game will be well optimized and scale quite nicely to 60fps and 4K for the people who have fancy rigs.

@Why o why

"Can someone please explain to crim and infected that sony started quite slow last gen."

This far into the PS3 lifecycle we had Resistance, Warhawk, Uncharted, Metal Gear Solid 4, Wipeout HD and a bunch of other genuinely excellent exclusives. For all the nonsense people spouted about the PS3 having no games, the first two years of its life were much better games-wise than the PS4.

"Can someone also explain to them t...

You're right, I made a whoopsie there. Unfortunately however it still has no bearing on my original point which you never managed to address outside of twisting my words to create a strawman so uh... anything else?

Outside of the SSM stuff however, the original point I was making before you derailed this on a weird tangent was that Sony shut down Zipper Interactive, they no longer exist. As EDMIX pointed out, Sony still owns the IP but can you guys honestly ever think of ...

"In that case lets take out Ninja Gaiden Sigma, and plenty of other PS3 games from the list I post."

I did lol, the numbers are for real exclusives only, NG Sigma didn't count towards the PS3 total that I gave.

As for your argument about whether it's important to prove these things true or whatever, it's a bit late to say that people are fanboying when it was you that decided to prove it was true. Unfortunat...

If Christopher is going to start doing things like that then he'd also have to take a bubble away from himself for breaking N4G rules when he used bad language earlier in this comment section (in his response to magiciandude).

Also, begging moderators to silence people just because they disagree with you is distasteful. Besides, it would be biased of Christopher to punish gangsta_red and not also punish you for being off-topic with your comme...

By my count:

In the first two years of the PS3 there were 46 exclusives.

In the first two years of the PS4 there were 20 exclusives.

The PS4 count goes down even further if you exclude the Uncharted and Last of Us games, which you really should since you don't need a PS4 to play them so they're not exclusive, but I left them in the count anyways.

It also looks like Nintendo is absolutely dominating when it comes to ex...

Where did I say that Sony shut down all of Sony Santa Monica? The only deception is by you attempting to twist what I said. I just posted facts and backed them up with evidence.

Also, would you really call Cory Balrog one of the best minds behind God of War when the game he delivered after the SSM purging was Ascension? God of War 3 was absolutely fantastic from start to finish, and I find it hard to believe that anybody could say that Ascension was great and that Balrog was ...

What misinformation? Are you seriously trying to say that Sony didn't shut down Zipper Interactive, Studio Liverpool, or fire the team working on a sci-fi IP at SSM? If so, I have some really bad news for you...

http://uk.ign.com/articles/...

Zipper Interactive, the developers behind the SOCOM games, no longer exist because Sony shut the studio down and fired everyone.

I think the worst thing is that after the beginning, Shawn Layden took the stage and said, "If we start the show like that, just you wait until you see what kind of announcements we have coming" which instantly hyped the crowd into a frenzy and got everyone excited.

To say that he was spouting BS would be understatement of the year.

Also, SOCOM is never coming because Sony fired everyone who worked on that franchise, just like they fired everyone wh...

I criticized Microsoft a lot during the last console generation because they favored marketing deals and timed DLC for multiplatform games, along with a heavy focus on indie XBLA games over actually delivering some high quality exclusives.

Now that Sony is doing the exact same thing I'm going to criticize them as well, because unlike a lot of people on this website I don't have double standards.

I honestly didn't think that Sony would take this ro...

I criticized Microsoft heavily for relying on that stuff during the 360 era and I'm criticizing Sony for doing the same because I don't have double standards. It's a shame everyone else will let their extreme bias dictate when something like that suddenly becomes a good thing, however.

Sony did not have to reacquire licenses for every PS2 game when they released the backwards-compatible PS3.

The reason that Microsoft has to acquire licenses is because it's software emulation and legally, the games are considered to be released again which is why they need permission. If the Xbox One had a Xenon CPU inside the box and was going with hardware BC rather than emulation, they wouldn't need to check with any publishers at all (provided the BC was disc-bas...

You actually missed a bunch of other PS3 titles as well such as Formula One:CE (back when Sony had the F1 license, I still consider that game much better than any of the Codemasters F1 titles that came later) as well as Folklore, SOCOM and one of my favorite games of the entire generation, Wipeout HD.

There's a whole bunch of other games as well, such as Haze and Lair which were obviously terrible, but god damn when you consider that people ...

The game's being made by Team Ninja, who made the Ninja Gaiden games. NG1 & NG2 were good games, and both were very difficult. The last game they made however was Ninja Gaiden 3, which was terrible. It's kinda 50/50 right now how Nioh will turn out, but it could very well be on-par with DS/BB in terms of difficulty, and maybe even surpass those games if they crank out another NG/NG2-styled classic.

My prediction is that each episode is $60 and that over the course of development Nomura will quit to work on another project and Sony will show this game at every single conference that they have for the next six years (and beyond, if we're being honest with how long this game will take to make).

I don't believe for one second that this game will be finished on PS4 either, if they're going the episodic route. The later episodes will be released on PS5 which will ...

Yup, what's the bet that each episode of FF7 Remake is a full-price $60 purchase?

I joked that we'd be seeing FF7 Remake at every single Sony conference for the next three years or so because of how long it would take and how much they'd milk it, but in light of this recent news I might as well double my prediction to six years, because we all know how this is going happen.

God, what a crappy console generation this is turning out to be. Remasters...
