"Form your own opinion. The game is solid because it's solid, not because some biased/paid for fanboy slapped some number on it. =)"

Your comment would have been fine except you had to add "some biased/paid for fanboy slapped some number on it."

Why can't a review be an honest opinion? Because it's a 360/PC exclusive or because it's NOT on the PS3 (which IS your console of choice - don't even try to deny it)? When you say something like you di...

Demon's Souls is a great game, but it is probably a little too niche for the wide audience to appreciate (which I think is probably the point of this article)?

Totally agree on Uncharted 2 though - best single player experience this year and one of the best of all time...

I definitely see your point, but look at the US as an example:

http://www.google.com/publi...

To save you the calculations, the difference between 2008's population and 1998's population is about 28,000,000. Since 1998's population is 275,000,000, that's a growth of just over 10%. That's definitely a significant number.

I'm...

Yeah - the setpieces are my favorite part of God of War. Since the first one with the Hydra battle, they set the bar high with the craziness of the bosses/sub bosses and the creative ways to take them down. I mean, the gameplay itself is great as well, but that "XL-ish" nature of the game makes it so awesome.

I'm excited - finally get to see what this is all about.

Comparing Bayonetta to God of War isn't fair - they're two totally different games (besides being part of the "beat 'em up" family).

In terms of gameplay, Bayonetta is more focused on outlandish combos/fatalities and gunplay, where God of War is more about large-scale setpieces/puzzles and maintaining a "thrill-ride" aspect to the game.

Both games have their place and both look awesome. But comparing the two is like saying Halo is the same as...

The problem is, the moniker of "third-fastest selling console of all-time" is misleading. The population of the world has rapidly expanded over the years. There are more people, hence more customers, out there looking to buy consoles.

Let's say that there were only 5 people in the world 10 years ago, and 4 of them bought Console A over a year period. Fast-forward to today, where there are 100 people. Console B comes out and sells 50 over a year. It's the fastest selli...

I don't know how people can actually get excited for a game NOT having co-op. It's hard to guess what that co-op would be or how it would work, but I am 100% confident that Santa Monica could've pulled it off.

It doesn't change a thing - God of War III will be awesome. But who WOULDN'T want more game to play? I understand that fanboys needs their damage control and such, but saying that a game is better because it doesn't have co-op is like saying that "it's good that I am m...

Definitely - I didn't discover R+C until Greatest Hits on the PS2 versions of the game. I think that it's one of those series that (for some reason) people want, but not at full price. Shame, cuz I'm sure that that costs Insomniac (who do SUCH an excellent job in making the R+C games) a lot of money in lost profits.

That thing IS ugly. I need a new PS3 controller, but it looks like DS3 for me instead of this no-rumbling monstrosity!

True, but the sum of all "exclusives" that MS has lost doesn't even come close to the impact of Sony losing GTA4 exclusivity (timed or otherwise), let alone the combination of GTA, FF13, and future MGS projects.

You said:
"Video gamer in their own words admit that this game is 'incredible' and then dish out a 9 score."

Incredible and perfect are not synonyms. Heck - read the synopsis of their review:
"The single-player adventure packs in so many incredible moments that you'll be talking about it with friends for months and the multiplayer is rammed with content. A must buy."

or how about the closing sentence of the full review:

I'm actually all for exclusives on any of the three current-gen consoles. Each console has something that it excels in, be it graphics or sound or motion controls or online connectivity or whatever. When developers harness that certain power about them instead of vanilla-ing the game up a bit to fit on all 3, the game is released in a form that is truest to the original vision rather than bastardized to go multiplatform.

I don't want Uncharted on my Wii, or Left 4 Dead on my PS...

I loved Uncharted wholeheartedly - my only disappointment was that it had to end. I realize that games can't go on forever (development reasons, people getting bored etc), but it was one of the few games that I wish I could have stayed in the game world for more adventures for a couple of more hours.

I can't say that I had any ZZZ moments except when I literally spent a half hour with the blacklight torch trying to find out where the heck to go. Real "duh" moment for ...

For sure - it's kind of ironic, but both of the Official magazines probably have the least amount of "bias" in the media. In a way, it's probably BECAUSE they only focus on one brand and can kinda dispense with the whole "my console's better than yours" talk and get on with good and fair reviews.

Although OXM still baffles me to this day with their first 10 ever being Fight Night Round 3...

Consider the (accepted) model of $2.00 a song for a music game download such as in Rock Band or Guitar Hero. The costs of it include licensing, royalities, etc.

Now double it, because each "song" in DJ Hero is actually 2 songs in one, each with their own artists and record companies to reimburse for their usage.

That's why the price is high for DJ Hero DLC. Stop whining about Activision screwing us - it's just simple business...

The problem is that people are saying LIVE users are "getting charged" to access services such as Facebook, Twitter, last.fm, and Netflix (well, the streaming is free on your computer if you have an unlimited account). This is the wrong way to look at it in my opinion.

LIVE has been $50 for years - way before any of the free services. LIVE users are getting these services as perks rather than being charged for it. If LIVE users were being charged for these services, th...
