"But that's the point. Just like the article said, what is Microsoft's vision for the Xbox One then?"

The vision has changed, albeit not the direction. What Microsoft originally going for was a uniform user base - everyone with a regular connection to the internet, everyone with Kinect, and everyone with their games installed onto their hard drives.

DRM/check-ins, always-connected Kinect, and an unclear trade-in ...

I guess, but it's still odd, given that next gen is around the corner and the impression the public should have is "ZOMG next gen, best evah!"

This is kinda stupid for them to say, given the biggest market for COD is on consoles. Everybody knows that PC versions typically look better than console versions, but devs coming out and saying it in this situation is probably not for the best.

Lol I know. The ridiculousness of that is compounded for me, given the fact that I've been gaming for about 30 years. It's like some fanboys/trolls don't even try to be eloquent or persuasive anymore - hatred is enough for them and their ilk.

I agree with every reason except #3 - the controls. There is a reason that many FPS's mimic COD's control scheme. It's effective, fluid, and familiar. Why change it, or better yet, why even put that on this particular list?

As for everything else, I agree that they need a true next gen engine that addresses these concerns - particularly animation. I can deal with less than pristine visuals if characters move realistically and environments react like they would in ...

What would people here cry about if it weren't for inconsequential things? :)

I love that he has a lot of consoles - it's great to see that even though he works for one company, he is a gamer above all.

A fan is somebody who loves their console or game of choice.

A fanboy, as I and many people use it in a video games sense, is somebody who thinks that their console or game of choice is perfect in every way and above reproach. However, console and game fanboys also go out of their way to disparage the competition and anybody who supports it.

To sum, fans love their consoles, fanboys hate their consoles' competition.

I've never liked Killzone, to be honest. I've played COD the most this gen, but Battlefield 4 looks like it will be taking a lot of my time next gen.

"Also, why do people not understand the concept of "if you don't like it, don't play it"? I don't comment on articles of games I don't like."

Because the only hobby that can rival gaming for some N4Gers is bitching about games that they have no intention of buying.

"Well the ps4 ram rumor was being treated as a fact by most Xbox fans and many articles."

Well, the 7gb RAM rumor was being treated as a fact by all Sony fans and articles, and used in an innumerable amount of insults towards Xbox fans by those people.

I agree that Sony has provided a lot of great titles in the past. I have enjoyed many games on PS1, PS2, and PS3. However, my point is that that doesn't guarantee that PS4 will produce games on the level that Dedicated is describing. And, given that, one cannot say that Xbox One will not provide comparable or better experiences.

"I'm not about to waste money on a console that isn't going to provide me the absolute peak of gaming quality. Right now, PS4 is the safe bet in that department."

I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but nothing about the PS4 launch titles (or any future ones shown up until now) screams "absolute peak of gaming quality". Driveclub? Knack? Killzone? Do any of those strike you as games that justify the much celebrat...

I can see that. However, while the first party games may not have mass appeal to non-genre fans, there are plenty of third party games that benefit from upgraded hardware. 64 player Battlefield. New engines and more realistic animations for the sports games. The true versions of Watch_Dogs.

Plus the second wave of games coming soon, like inFamous:SS and Titanfall. Next Gen isn't going to take long to heat up.

Okay. Much simpler example.

Somebody is buying something that you have no intention of buying. Why do you give even a single thought about how much value they get out of it? Why talk about something that doesn't interest you? Why degrade something that has no benefit for you?

In other words, tend to your own garden.

"blah blah blah Microsoft lied blah blah more fanboy drivel blah blah."

Let's say somebody tells you that they're going to give you a hundred dollars tomorrow. You get excited at the prospect and spend the rest of the evening thinking of what you'll do with it. You debate buying something you don't need, or having a nice dinner, or buying clothes, or saving it. Or whatever.

Tomorrow comes and the person s...
