The Xbox support twitter accounts need to get their shit together lol

4705d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

Okay, I'm a little worried.

http://twitter.com/XboxSupp...

I directly asked them about transferring the 360 friends list to the One and I got told about gamerscore and achievements. Hopefully it's just because no official word has been given, but I'm cautious.

EDIT:

Thanks and agreed! Video game fanboys are, like you said, worse than religious zealots (or at least on am even keel with them). You almost have to wonder if, when they get older, they will be as staunch in their blind support on other topics. I could definitely draw parallels between the hardcore political types. In all cases, it's not about being right so much as it is about proving somebody who doesn't agree with you wrong.

@devwan

Well since Live Gold carries over, our Gamertags will as well. Our friends lists are attached to our gamertags. Therefore, it would make sense.

I think what they meant was that your 360 list will remain as is, and your Xbox One list will be your 360 list plus anybody you add on One. But those you add on One won't go backwards and appear on your 360 list.

At least, that's what it sounds like. I could be wrong.

I'd like to see them focus on non-indie PS4 exclusives. Also maybe some of the major multiplats like Battlefield 4 and MGSV running on PS4 hardware.

An even better way of putting it is to say that the Xbox One is a Rally car and the PS4 is an Indy car. On straightaways, the PS4 Indy car has a top speed and acceleration advantage, giving it a lead. However, on turns and uneven surfaces, the Xbox One rally car has better performance and handling, giving it the lead.

Bottom line, both are good at different things, but neither has a big enough advantage to take a substantial lead over the other due to t...

"32MB of ESRAM is plenty for high res textures, because its a form of cache, it doesnt hold on to the data like normal ram, instead it functions as a bridge that pushes data around in high speed."

Finally, somebody who understands what eSRAM is used for. And nobody is claiming that it will consistently outperform the PS4's GDDR5 in graphics. The point is that it will put them on par or at least close to on par in terms of bandwidth.

Thanks! It's true - people love to see reversals of fortune. There is something about seeing the guy on top falling from grace or the guy at the bottom rising to glory. However, when that becomes all that is important to us, we have to take a step back and consider why we care in the first place. Games should be the first, second, third, fourth, fifth, and last reasons that we like a company. RAM can make them better, but it can't make us enjoy a turd or despise a masterpiece. We get ...

I agree. Gaming journalism has become as trashy as celebrity dirt sheets. Instead of selling copies of People and Star Magazine, it's all about hits on EuroGamer and Kotaku. Sensationalism sells more than honest reporting. In fact, if you AREN'T reporting something, you're behind the pack. Hence, rumors and other sources of dubious credibility become front page news. People take these as truth, or at least talking points, and go to their forums of choice, where they are defended a...

"And if the answer is "yes" and a 4 Gig PS4 is more powerful than an 8 Gig Xbox One, then what does that mean when we bring the 8 Gig PS4 into the equation? Anyone want to tackle that one?"

Why yes, somebody would like to tackle that one. And that someone is....you!

Poorly planned - screamed incessantly about how much better having 7GB of available RAM was than 5GB of RAM. Then the amount of RAM was no longer important when a rumor put it at 4.5. Then it was important again when another rumor put it at 6.

Ugly - go out of their way to put down the Xbox One and anybody who chooses to buy it. Write off any potential positive difference or innovation on the One as PR talk. Repeatedly celebrate and bring up a...

"You're wrong. Sony never said what amount of ram was for gaming. It was an assumption that we gamers went with."

Fair, but consider this:

Most major outlets and gamers have been talking about the alleged 7gb available for games for months. Sony said absolutely nothing about those claims. For months.

Now somebody says that the RAM available is actually less (4.5gb, 5.5gb, or whatever the claim really i...

Microsoft didn't almost kill gaming. That's way too dramatic of a thing to say. Even though I and other people didn't mind the original plans, there were plenty of people that didn't like them at all. This would have definitely meant lowered sales and adoption for the console, as seen in the initial preorder info and general mood, at least amongst the hardcore community.

But killing gaming? Come on. People who wanted next-gen and didn't want to play ball w...

Yes, but it's a special edition with a few features removed. Regardless, Sony would be wiser to bundle a game that anyone buying PS+ isn't already getting. I'm hoping they have an inFamous Second Son bundle when that comes out because that's about the time I'll be getting a PS4

Well, the info WAS a leak. Expecting questions answered immediately about something that wasn't supposed to be known until GamesCon isn't exactly reasonable, no?

"The rest of my post, I didn't get a reply from you. It sounds to me like this cloud storage is just for Entertainment - which i still think will not be unlimited when you think of the implications of unlimited media storage."

Yeah I agree with you. The whole "store your games on the cloud" doesn't make sense since you already have to install every game on the One anyway, and you need to have the disc in your console to play ...
