Valve is basically claiming that Sony and Nintendo pressure devs/publishers to charge for updates. While Valve may be right I doubt they actually know anything about Sony's policies or PSN's certification process since they probably don't even have dev kits or any contact with Sony.

Definition of slander: a malicious, false, and defamatory statement or report: a slander against his good name.

if that isn't their policy. Either way I doubt Gabe would know. He's obviously talking about MS but lumping all 3 companies together to toss into the fire pit.

But I did realize I bought it too early. It especially hit home when the price dropped $100 (Amazon was also giving away a free movie and remote plus the 5 free movies by mail). At that point I had only played a few games and Resistance and the Japanese Hot Shots demo were the only ones I really enjoyed. That's when I realized I bought the system 6 months too early. Oh well, whats in the past is the past. Lets just hope when the PS 4 launches Sony will be ready this time on the software ...

"DVD benefits over VHS were huge... not to mention adoption was a lot cheaper..."

Adoption was not a lot cheaper when adjusted for inflation. Maybe you weren't out of diapers yet?

"Who can benefit? Anyone willing to pay $10-$15 more than the DVD version"

Blu-ray check. Again its the diaper symdrome. DVDs costed about $10 more then VHS back in the day.

"DVD picture quality is better than VHS"

Blu-...

People that have waited this long (almost 3 years) probably won't buy much stuff online anyway so whats the point of a bigger drive? I don't think the $50 price drop in the US on that model will help much either. Since the $50 drop on the 20 gb model didn't move a lot of extra consoles. MS's last chance is the $199 arcade model in the US. I think that may shift some units. But at only $70 more then a PS2 (which doesn't even come with a memory card) it better or it may be time to start au...

Because I won't pay $2 for it. Especially since they still haven't even bothered to patch rumble in not to mention trophies.

Edit below:

Why don't you paypal me the $1 then? Just pretend you paid $3 for it. I mean $2 or $3 same thing to you right Money? And yes I'd rather have a pack of chips then pay $2 for a single character in a game.

Sony would have to work on each game individually to get PS2 games to work on the bc less ps3s. So yes maybe they got Singstar to work on PS3's. It doesn't mean they are going to waste tons of man hours trying to get each individual PS2 game to work on those PS3s.

And calling Sony money grubbing at this point is a bit ridiculous. They have given gamers a ton of stuff for free compared to other companies. They make almost nothing on peripherals any more because very little of ...

So go ahead and try this if it is real. I hope they ban your @ss. Who the hell needs PS3 back ups. Blu-ray discs are extremely hard to scratch and even if you do manage it they still play. Short of leaving it on the floor to step on this is purely for pirates.

but click the tab of the game system you are interested in, then wait a second or two. BAM! Gaming news on that system. Feel free to paypal me $20 for the tech support.

If that is the criteria for a "killer app" does that mean the PS2 as well as the 360 have yet to have one? The only ps2 games to do numbers like that were GTAs, MGS2, Gran Turismo and the Final Fantasy series. None of them were original IPs to the PS2 although an argument can be made for GTA 3 I guess. 360 has Gears of War but that's kind of a gray area. Since MS owns publishing rights to the first 2 games but does not own the IP. Putting those kinds of restrictions sounds ridi...

Does that sound like a good business strategy to you though? Spend money to annoy potential customers? It seems pretty childish and stupid to me. Why pay to alienate people who might of got a 360 in the future?

and what service is that? Allowing me to play MY games online on MY 360 using MY ISP and MY 360 as a server? Yeah what a deal.... Why don't you send me $50 a year and I'll let you use YOUR money in YOUR wallet for whatever You want. I'll call it Wallet Gold membership if you like.

you can bet that Sony and MS would have sued PSP and 360 hackers out of existence by now.

since he probably has to pay for it himself now. I know I did. If I would have stuck with it I'd be in my 3rd year by now and down $150.

He actually said the 80gb drives may actually cost them less then the 40gb drives. Makes sense as Sony would probably have to special order 40gb drives from hard drive manufacturers.

Maybe Capcom should of went with a 2D 8 bit version of the game.

6405d ago 6 agree1 disagreeView comment

since Capcom refuses to release a new Powerstone. If this is better then Small Arms on the the 360 (which wasn't very deep) definite purchase for me.
