Damn did guys notice the retail price on Star Ocean? That's like $100 US. As much as I hate the $60 price point in the US at least its consistent. In Japan it seems like the publisher charges whatever they want for more popular titles. Dragon Quest 9 for $66? They are trying to get $66 for a DS game...
1. I agree with you about the PS3. There is no way it should be lumped in with the Saturn. I think the Saturn sold around 5 million units total in its lifetime. But Sega's marketing didn't suck. Their management did. They diluted and pissed off their user base by making the Sega CD and then the 32x. Plus they were going up against a much bigger company that could under cut it on the cost of hardware (Sony).
1.1 Actually the Wii is the PS2. Just in white with flicky stick...
Developers should increase challenge in creative ways or with smarter A.I. They should not increase challenge by gimping the player. That's just the easy way out.
I really hope they include co-op. It would make it an instant purchase for me.
Damn that article read like a advertisement for the xbox 360...
That's because Sony didn't send out a $800 bride bag to all the reviewers. I can honestly say these "game journalists" are a joke. Especially that X-play review. It took no more then 20 seconds into their review to bag on the PS3 and its owners.
Yep I hooked up a ps3 for my friend and loaded all the games I bought. I then created 2nd log in and deleted the log in that was linked to my psn account. They were sudden locked out. So yes you can still share. But you must keep the user log in that dled the games.
2 gb sd cards.
You mean shows that people just tivo or download skipping the commercials all together? The Super Bowl is one of, if not the only event where the commercials are considered part of the event.
There were some movie ads and multiple ads for Doritos and Pepsi. Why not a game/PS3 ad? This was Sony's chance to advertise Killzone 2 to everyone. And many of those people were watching the Super Bowl in HD. If not at their own home then at a Super Bowl party. It would have blown people away. It was Sony's chance to show off what the PS3 could do compared to say the Wii. I know Sony will show a lot of commercials during nba games (as they have done in the past) but that demographic is...
I can see a $50 to $100 price drop (more likely $50 with a pack-in game) maybe announced at E3. I don't remember many console price drops occurring the first half of the year. They usually drop it late Summer/early Fall to cash in on Holiday sales. Correct me if I'm wrong.
MS are liars and David Reeves is an idiot. Fanboys can just choose who they want to believe. Neither source is credible in my opinion.
No I rented all those other games except for Bioshock and finished them all. So I didn't miss out on anything. I just don't have a bunch of games on my shelf that I'm never going to touch again. There's a big difference between the two. 95% of those games do nothing but go down in value so why hold them.
Split screen co-op adds a lot of value to a game for me. I'm the type that only plays through a game once no matter how good it is or how much I like it. Unless a friend drops by then I'll play it with them. As is KZ2 is a rental for me.
Its more like interactive software for non-gamers. Things like interactive cookbooks, self help, fitness and "How to" programs.
Yeah that is pretty bad. Especially considering the game only retailed for $39.99 to begin with. Is Rare next on MS's chopping block? I hope not. I actually like their games.
No way in hell KZ2 is going to outsell Halo 3. I think Sony would be hella happy if it sold half of what Halo 3 did. That'd be about 5 million units? That would make it the best selling PS3 game to date. But of course the crazed fanboys will disagree and be disappointed once again when they cling onto ridiculous expectations. I thought Halo 3 was average and KZ2 will probably be a better game but the better game doesn't always sell more.
At least this one will be 4 players. Having a single player turtles game was just stupid.
That's something I don't get. Sony and MS have had almost 2.5 years to create motion controls for people who like that stuff (personally I don't. Its too impercise for me). Instead they both sit around bickering with each other about who has more of the scraps the Wii left behind. Make a damn motion controller, pack it with a sports demo (which is all Wii sports really is) and slap it on the retail shelf. How hard is that?
As a single player only experience Uncharted is the more polished and fun game. More variety in play mechanics, better animation, better acting, better characters and better story. The only weakness in Uncharted was the puzzles. They were ridiculous simple. But the fact that Gears gives you co-op and multiplayer evens the two games up and give the better overall package and value to Gears.
