How is that suppose to compete with Gears? Back on Topic Resistance 2 did look good. Much better then the debut trailer on Spike TV. Also interested in Quest for Booty though from the sounds of it and the price its gonna bet way short.
From what Tretton said they are only upgrading the hard drive in the 40 gb unit to 80 gb.
They just needed the exclusivity window to get closer to expiring. Hopefully MS footed the bill for a lot of the costs and PS3 owners get the game for a discount seeing as how they had to wait a year. I doubt it though...
Old PCs (which are still very capable of displaying multimedia) have to go somewhere. It will eventually dawn on people that their old PC has a vga/dvi/hdmi output and so does their new HDTV. It may take people a while but they will eventually put two and two together but I'm sure they will.
with just a netflix membership? My bro just gave me his 5 year old desktop and it has vga and dvi out so its not like its hard to hook up a comp to HDTVs. So what kind of selling point is this? Correct me if I'm wrong because I have Blockbuster membership. Love the Total Access plus I get a free game rental every month.

They sold about 5 million psp slims in a year. Yep this time last year their install base in Japan was about half of what it is now. That's pretty impressive I'd say.

But this articles is talking about how this new update will blow away what ground Sony gained with 2.40. The 2.40 updates were basically all game related. As far as I can tell none of the stuff mentioned here really has anything to do with improving the gaming experience.
and none of this stuff remotely interests me. Why would anyone want to sit and virtually watch movies or listen to music with other dudes? But whatever I guess people who are into this sort of stuff will like it. I'll pass.
There is no Plat trophy for small dl games like Stardust HD. So his comments have nothing to do with Stardust HD. But kodus to Dylan and Incog again. Great game and great guys.
@1.5 I'm not knocking Bioshock as a game. But in terms of sales Bioshock isn't much to compared to FF13. And would you be willing to wager FF 13 sells more then 5 million units? I'll give you 2 to 1 odds on that any day. But if Sony can wrestle away Dead Rising 2, Biohshock 2 and Mass Effect 2 from MS I'd call it a draw. Those are big ifs though. I think Sony will be able to get 2 of the 3 but a hat trick will be hard.

Sony just lost their biggest remaining 3rd party exclusive. Pretty amazing that Sony just let it go. I would of thought they would do anything to keep it exclusive. Oh well it is what it is. Hats off to MS. They just pimp slapped the hell out of Sony today.

The 80gb bundle proved to be very popular with a lot of retailers selling out of their 2nd shipment already. The $100 gift card at Walmart also didn't hurt sales. Still very good numbers for the middle of the year though. Hopefully they can keep some of the momentum until some of the other big titles hit in the Fall.
They own the intellectual property. They decided to let EA pimp the game on the PS3. They collected money from EA for it. Why shouldn't they be held responsible? BTW your Konami analogy makes no sense. There is a big difference between not releasing a game on another platform and releasing a game, collecting money from customers, then washing your hands of it and refusing to fix it.

But they were complaining about the price drop because they thought it would be temporary not about lack of BC. They assumed the 80gb Motorstorm bundle would bring the price back up to $599 which never happened. But that did not stop people from jumping all over Sony.
They are updating the version that isn't broken. I like the Half Life series a lot but that is just wrong...
When it was discovered at the last E3 that the PS3 price drop "wasn't really a price drop". The media came out with tons of articles about how Sony $&#^#@ up again. Even though it actually turned out to be a permanent price drop anyway. MS should get the same treatment if not worse (because unlike the Sony price drop this one isn't permanent). from the same media but they probably won't. Because MS hooks them up with more swag and what not.
But yeah Nintendo's would be at the bottom of the barrel for sure. I can't wait for their next E3 so they can unveil Wii Lifeguard. Using your wiimote to do swimming motions to save your fellow Miis...
