Retailers are good for consumers. I've gotten a ton of great deals on games. How often does a sale happen on psn or xbla? Once or twice a year on a handful of titles? Without retail we'd paid full price for everything no matter how old it is. Not to mention giving up our right to trade in or sell a game. As for devs slaving over a computer to make a game, they can cry me a river. There are much worse jobs that people have to do for a lot less money.

Its a 2nd party studio. But best of luck to Dylan he seems like a really cool guy.

@1.5 Naughty Dog is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sony Computer Entertainment. Insomniac is not although Sony owns the IPs for both Resistance and Ratchet and Clank.

Yep looking forward to this one.

He makes some valid points. But as long as MS continues to foot the bill for lost sales I guess Square and Bandai will continue to release their games on the 360. However, if or when MS decides its no longer viable to pay Square and Bandai for games that don't sell very well (let's face it. MS is only doing it to hurt PS3 sales) those two companies have painted themselves into a corner. There are a lot of angry Ps3 owners that won't just take them back with open arms. They'll be left with...

There is no way in hell it FF 13 will sell more worldwide on the 360. That's three territories compared to two. If they mean US only then maybe. But the disc thing is a factor. I'd much rather have 1 scratch proof blu-ray disc then 3 or 4 dvds where if one gets messed up, you have to buy the game all over again. Not to mention a lot of people buy the 360 version of a game because they want to play with friends on xbox live. FF 13 will probably be a solo experience so xbox live doesn't p...

That would be really funny if MS dropped the price of the arcade below a PS2. But hey if they can do it and still turn a profit in the division more power to them I guess.

@4.3 Read his comment again more carefully.

"Sony "buy" exclusives alright, but they don't just buy a game, they buy into the IP. Every Sony published exclusive, Sony own the IP rights."

Sony owns the IP of every game they publish (not every exclusive) examples are Resistance, Lair, Heavenly Sword, LittleBigPlanet and Motorstorm (before Sony bought the developers). All 2nd party games but all the IPs owned by Sony. However, MS publishes games wi...

Weren't they suppose to release a bluetooth version? Looks like they raised the price $20 over the first version. $80? I'll stick with the sixaxis.

This article is pure speculation. I don't think any of these companies are trying to get around anything or using loopholes. Exclusivity contracts run out. Its as simple as that. Ninja Gaiden 2 was released 9 months ago last June. Sigma 2 is suppose to release in the Fall. That's a little over a year after its original release date. Coincidence? I don't think so. It was the same for Eternal Sonata and Bioshock. Both games were released on the PS3 a couple of months after their 1 yea...

@2.8 all 360 games have an optional install now since the NXE update. That's the only reason I had to buy a 120 gb drive. Installed games are so much quieter, run smoother and no read disc errors. Otherwise I would have used my 20 gb hard drive forever instead of paying those insane prices.

@1.1 Wii sales in Japan have been trending down for over a month and a half and sales are down 60% in Japan this year compared to a 11% drop for the PS3 while the 360 has actually seen a spike this year. That is not 2 bad weeks of data. Are you sure you weren't talking about yourself with that fanboy comment?

As for Monster Hunter 3 it has yet to be seen if the success on the PSP can be replicated on a home console. Monster Hunter and Monster Hunter 2 did not sell nearly as we...

Actually you can get a 320gb 7200 rpm Travelstar Hitachi drive off zipzoomfly.com for $60 after rebate. That's for a 7200 rpm drive that will actually give you faster performance. The prices for 360 hard drives are truly ridiculous. Good thing I bought a used 120 gb 360 drive off ebay for $73 and I still felt ripped off. I can't imagine dropping $150 for that POS.

Other prices cuts were usually leaked retail ads. Until I see one of those there's no reason to believe there's a price cut coming.

Kind of sucks that they are charging money for a hard mode. I might pick up the Edy pack though.

The Wii has been consistently trending down for about a month and a half now. Plus Wii sales are down 60% year to date in Japan. It's not one week its 2009.

Hmmm Mr Hickey. The same blu-ray driveless ps3 Hickey. The same Hickey who said a price drop was coming any day back in Feburary. How does this fool get quoted by business publications or even keep his job?

Doubt it. PSP's 4th birthday comes around in about a week (at least in the US). So at its current pace Sony would need to support it for an additional 4 years. I can see it hitting 70-80 million but will probably be short of the 100 million milestone.

I doubt they'll drop the wifi either. Remember they added it into the 40 gb even though the 20 gb didn't have it. It's probably dirt cheap to include which is why they added it even though the 40 gb was suppose to be a cost cutting measure.

But yeah this must be the stupidest comment I've ever heard from an analyst. You can buy a blu-ray rom for the pc for $80 on sale now. So it may cost Sony what? $40-50 per drive? Sony's not gonna gimp the PS3 to a download only system to ...

It seems the reviewer might have played the game with a PSP-1000. Did the you guys play it with a PSP-2000 or PSP-3000? Maybe that is the reason you guys are getting better performance then he is.
