to say that this game is just COD4 with new skins is doing treyarch a massive injustice. Just because they used the same engine doesn't mean there is nothing they can mess up. Does it mean that anyone who uses this engine is guaranteed to make a AAA scoring game? Of course not.

I love it. I feel engrossed from that alone. I can tell as much money went into music as the other aspects of the game.
the textures (except for the playable characters) are quite bland. Not that it matters though, this game will be awesome. I have wanted to get into a good RPG for a while now.
Although I would agree with the final fantasy VII choices. Those were always difficult.

doesn't mean they think the game is worse that it's predecessor. I think one thing reviews taken into account when reviewing, aside from the games merits, is how the game is compared to what else is out at the time.
Every year the bar for a quality game is raised, right? Sequels being better than their predecessors isn't just normal, it's expected. But how that game compares to the current bar level is a different matter.

in that you can see them. In so many FPS's you feel like just a floating head with a gun. But would it not have been a better choice to use a third person perspective. This would allow the parkor moves to be shown off to full effect. I wonder what the reason was behind making it first person?
I think the reason the R & C Entertainment pack is selling so much better than the 4Gb pack is not necessarily because it is such a great deal and people are particularly interested in it but because comparatively it is a better deal than the 4Gb pack. People going out to buy a PSP are going to look at both and decide which is going to give them the best value for money and the R & C pack is clearly that.

Obviously this isn't to be taken literally but the some of the highlighted parallels are shocking and dare I say it, a little embarrassing? It would be nice to think that we as a society are above some of the events which occurred in Rapture but it appears we aren't.

I predict 7/10 average. Good, not great.
Why can't they just let the great price go to the consumer? Why do they have to rip people off at every given opportunity? Their bundles are always crap because they only seem to include games that nobody wants but they want to shift and their preowned game prices just take the piss because they are usually just a few pound cheaper than the brand new version. They rely on the fact that a few pounds makes all the difference to the consumer.

They could go two ways with their new IP; stick to what they know (action shooters) or try their hand at something completely different. My money is on something different, something more kid friendly and something aimed at a less hardcore crown. In other words, something that would sit nicely on the Wii! This plus a lot of devs are seeing the £££ potential of the Wii means it's likely that this will be thier platform of choice.
