-Woah, woah...within two sentences you've cross-connected the idea of not playing 'enough games' with not playing enough of the most notable ones. For one, he's already made several other top 10 lists (like disappointing, overlooked, etc.), along with reviews, this year which suggests at least in the 40's-50's of '18-released games played. Doesn't sound that much different from the typical reviewer at a big publication. Second, having to play x amount of pop...

-How? That's the title template most people use when doing their end-of-year lists so that doesn't make sense.

-...yes? You've literally been on the receiving end of submission warnings in the past so this shouldn't be some kind of REVELATION. There is a process to how submissions are handled here. You're sacrificing coherence for another snarky jab. Before Qt3, Tom Chick had written featured articles for bigger gaming sites (including IGN). If Jef...

I figured that was the whole point of making your own unique list: whittling down your 10 favorites from the potential thousands of games released this year. "...without playing the top games" is just a vacuous declaration.

-"Why this crap keeps getting posted here....no idea. Oh wait.....coolbeans is why. That's right."

You bet! It hits the site's threshold of what's allowable on here, so I see no reason for it to be ca...

That wasn't on his list. I have changed it to appropriately match one of his choices.

I wouldn't know. I haven't played yet either. :P

I don't know about Just Cause 4. That big trailer showcasing the tornado had me convinced they would also polish up the structure.

-"@coolbeans:
Sales and the fact that nothing of significance has been done with the IP are the only true measures to regard it. That Sakaguchi made it just says Sakaguchi made it. "

It's like you've done nothing to rebut my response or Foxtrot's original intention in order to just pound your fists down once more. That LO 'only' made close to 1 million sales and didn't receive a sequel just says something about its iffy financial...

You're twisting the intentions of his Foxtrot's words to rebuke the point. It's quite obvious that "filling a role" in this case is connected to the idea of getting the classic Final Fantasy 'fix' where the main FF games went astray--either in respect to aesthetics, narrative, or gameplay (most obviously).

Taking the sales route to invalidate the point has become as banal as ukulele overuse from new indie bands.

Did you get notification yet (as of now)? It took a couple of days for my ticket to go through too.

"Yes, SFV did release bare bones, but Cap was upfront about SFV being GaaS the entire time. Many of the same people who attacked SFV for being GaaS and releasing bare-bones also attempted to make excuses for Sea of Thieves and its lack of content."

Bull**** Who are the "many of the same" to be discussing this to begin with? And there's a near-universal theme of anything more done to SoT as being "too little, too late" from what I've g...

Congrats to SegaGamer.

So...I'm going to have to do some caveats, as my backlog of 2018-released games is embarrassingly large. I should've jumped on more '18 titles. Anyways, the caveats focus on games I haven't played enough of or haven't touched yet. That means the expected RDRII, Spider-Man, GOW(4) are out. I feel it'd be dishonest to list when I've still so much to play from them to get something resembling my final thoughts. There'...

Congrats to The 10th Rider (the previous 9 were already taken)!

Hmmm...I'm thinking of combining a theme rather than a singular event. From Ninja Theory's continued mental health charity promises for reaching x amount of sales, Xbox Adaptive Controller, and various gaming streams, you literally see a push from all corners of gaming to tackle physical & mental handicaps affecting so many worldwide. Granted, some of these are tied to selling products, but I thi...

Congrats to The PsychoGamer!

I'd say the Telltale closure & the concomitant fallout from it. It's one of those stories of disrespectful management that quickly kicks a majority of the team to the curb w/ only 30 mins notice, broken labor laws currently under investigation, and tragic stories like of a newblood who moved across country for this opportunity to only lose it ~a week later. Really terrible behavior that further poisons the 'crunch-time' men...

Respawn Entertainment. Ok, so I think it's fair to specifically point at Titanfall's launch as a sour spot--though most do so with hyperbole. But I want to highlight more of what they've done to the 'conversation' of the FPS versus other aspects. Just as how they did with CoD4, those former Infinity Ward brainchilds presented a legitimate culture shift to FPS games: crank up the speed! I don't think many can forget the energy TF brought at E3 and thinking "thi...

That's more a reflection as to how poorly it performed compared to previous entries versus some kind of hypocrisy you're trying to find. Street Fighter's had a vocal outrage community since Ono began poisoning it in SFIV (regardless of what bland critics say). SFV (vanilla) literally launched without modes that've standard to the series for years.

Bungie. They have this weird habit of "fixing" their games only after their next-year expansion; even then, they're only getting the game out of "nowhere near the level of promise those Bungie ads show" to "only mildly disappointing" levels.

Everything about those early trailers held such promise, the leaked Joseph Staten-penned scriptwork that was totally bungled, and the avaricious nature of Activision has seemed to poison Destiny 2 a ...

Congrats to...me! :)

There's a sizeable pool of VA's of exceptional quality, unfortunately narrowed to just a few in these comments. My choice will go to Dave Fennoy. Lee Everett became one of my favorite characters thanks to him. He may not have the widest range compared to North or Baker, but there's something about the quality of his voice that gets me.
