Tallying up all entries now...
:P
I shall heed your lessons and become a shinobi you'll be proud of, oasdada-san.
But it's too hard! How do I know if I can muster the courage to go on, FatherSwank-san?!?!
"...but remember it is never impossible and anybody in the world could beat it if they really wanted to."
Show me the way, Sensei. Seriously, there are times I'm facing off against mini-bosses towards the beginning and I just get so dissuaded from moving forward. Then, there's that one try where everything begins to click. That Shinobi Hunter one in particular stands out once I unlocked Mikirri Counter: beating his two phases with patience (both stealt...
I hope everyone enjoyed the review. In honor of tax season, let's indulge in some horror games! >:) Feel free to leave any comments, questions, and/or criticisms below. In fact...
So, in light of this and Tacoma being on sale I wanted to have my own personal contest that'll run from now to Sunday 11:59 EST. Anyone who comments below during that timeline will be pooled into a lotto drawing where two lucky winners will get either an XBL gift for SOMA or Tacoma...
Awesome. Hopefully not in a bad state, I hope. This game is giving me GOTY/'Almost-GOTY' quality vibes since watching the trailer.
Here's hoping it's successful.
So the defense you've decided to muster for 3rd party platform-exclusive content is "well that's what you ought to play on" then? Doesn't that just validate this practice moving forward?
I...did not expect a review emphasizing that aspect of the game, and I dig it. Interesting perspective to see before I dive into this one next week. How do you think the first Division handled social commentary compared to this one?
Also, welcome back to N4G! It's cool to see how long you've been away from submitting & commenting and then dropping this Division 2 review over the weekend. Hope to see more content from you.
Judging by how often that term is bandied about for anything, neither does the community.
Well, it does come with the territory. The site is called "ChristCenteredGamer" ; after all.
Do you mean creatively or financially? In either case: lol yeah right.
Nevermind the $$$ ND's raked up from TLOU (Tremendous New IP success) and Uncharted 4's phenomenal sales. Some of ND's most thematically interesting work has come out since then too.
Much appreciated, Atom.
Yeah they really did. I dig that description and can follow where you're coming from. The economics of Tacoma's world was something in particular that drew me in and felt more relatable than high-school girl drama, but there's more design ideals in GH that clicked better as a work/prodcut.
I'm really interested in doing a retrospective of GH in the future too.
Hey. Hope everyone enjoyed the review. Feel free to leave any comments, questions, and/or criticisms down below.
Right, I followed that they age them. But I'm still trying to find the through-line as to why aging--in this particular respect--should be something that MUST be avoided for games. A plethora of films, books, etc. course with of-their-time political jokes that can still be hits. See for example: Ted Kennedy, Nixon, Reagan, Thatcher, Clinton, Bush, Obama, Trump, etc. These figures may become outdated in regards to their time in office, but they may convey timeless attributes that write...
There's like a small cadre of super-fans, but you're mostly on the mark. I haven't seen it but it didn't seem all that great.
I mean...why? You seem to be *part* of the way there in saying politics can be "background" but I don't follow why there's to be an arbitrary limit. And just b/c games haven't done them well before (contentious) shouldn't restrict future games from giving an effort.
I honestly don't but am curious if you have a specific thread link.
God I get more and more tempted to pick this up.
There's been rumors Rare has 3 projects going on (SoT updates being one of them). NT's rumored game is supposed to be called Bleeding Edge (may not be final name).
"... maybe even Compulsion may have something else to show since We Happy Few came....and went."
Nah. They're still dedicated to updating that to get past the buggy launch.
Same here, feenix-5. Actually, when I heard about its console exclusivity (though timed they were very hush-hush about it hopping to XJuan) this was one of those that tempted me into getting a PS4 early. Looking past the list wars & their constant updates on exclusivity, quality timed deals can be great drivers in selling hardware units.
Indeed. There's so many high-minded concepts compacted into a modest campaign runtime.
