Although I haven't really noticed detractors of Infinity Blade II, I wouldn't be surprised to hear some "hardcore gamers" act this way.
"There are hardcore gamers out there so proud of their self-styled character trait that they shall defend it jealously."
Funny to notice that quote when I had a recent comment around that same subject :P.
Just make sure your alts are more inconspicuous than "cgoodno1" or "ondoogc" :P.
Thanks to the users/admin who voted for my review. Hope everyone enjoys my coming user reviews/blogs/n4g presence in general. Basically on a 2011 shooter hiatus right now with the likes of Homefront, Brink, etc.
Even worse: It seems that some people completely disregard the fact that you may have played earlier entries into the series and recently picked up this game, thus the lower rank. Can't imagine how many times I'll keep getting flamed for going 10/0 K/D for a match on Gears 3 (once in a blue moon), despite reminding them that I've had ample amount of pratice in 1+2.
You're showing just how low this site's community can be by vehemently assualting his opinion like that.
It's one thing to respectfully disagree; it's another when you make someone out to be "just somebody whom isn't a REAL gamer" in your eyes.
Knew it, this means they're essentially making Alan Wake 'Season 2'. WTF is wrong with some of you? This works in respect to the gameplay they're trying to accomplish: episodic content released on a predetermined schedule (like the TV show it alludes itself to being). I think they'll keep to this formula, then give it a retail release once the "TV season" is through.
Thank you for the disagrees. Allow me to correct myself: That's because n4g doesn't like to make fair discussions. The posts in between mine just prove that.
That's because people don't like fair discussions.
To all those who aren't aware of R3's hype: The game was really hyped before release. What do you expect from a three-quel were its predecessor sold over 2 million copies worldwide (VGChartz)?
To MSXboxWorld: If you're going to call it a "stinker", at least formulate an opinion that at least makes it sound like you played the game.
F*** off, EA is all I can say...
To your question: Ummm...I'd say yes to majority (at least 51%), but not the vast majority (80%-90%).
Too right on your last sentence. Your points do stand, so I suppose it's just a wait and see sort of deal.
Interesting blog btw.
"Why are we even talking about CoD in a Zelda article?"
I replied to part of Venox's comment, then you replied to mine. Since first post only mentions CoD, that's why we're on the subject.
"I won't go anywhere near as far as saying it 'didn't deliver anything refreshing'."
Since I haven't played SS yet, I'm not going that far either. That wasn't really aimed at Zelda anyway....
^CDbiggen
Fair enough, but Ocarina of Time was around 13 years ago and SS is still that similar structure. I'd argue that the CoD's since Modern Warfare 1 has procured just as much change to their overall formula (counting SP, Co-op, and Competitive MP) as the 3D Legend of Zelda's have to their SP formula.
Plz bear in mind I'm not saying change is necessary. Just showing the other side of coin for games YOU may highly praise don't de...
Master Chief has talked since the first Halo, but having only a sentences in each game.
"...- all it's missing is multiplayer...until now."
Why does the lack of multiplayer in a game or series now become something that's "missing", as if ME3 would be an incomplete experience without that component?
How can you possibly prove that?
To answer your title, it does for a healthy majority imo. I think your examples prove just how few "die-hard fans" there are in comparison to the numbers of consumers who just want X console becuase that's what my friends have/will have. Given that this is the first generation with a superfluous amount of avenues for fanboys to "display their loyalty", we'll see just how rooted in a future console some people will be (despite not knowing everything it's going...
CoD has had some noticeable flucuations to where to doesn't feel like the same thing. I contend that 3's Battlefield-esque approach to MP and 4's Modern Warfare were enough for players to feel like it was a different approach.
It's more a question of creative differences and production rather than "hiding it". Who knows if this was in constant production or how often they went back to the drawing board.
That seems to be one of the main complaints, but one I don't follow. Like I've found in other games with the setting feeling redundant: If that area evokes the best sense of atmosphere, why not keep to that-if only to meander off course sometimes?
Edit: But...that's just personal preference, I suppose.
