Yeah, the SP is where the healthy majority of the complaints come from. I would've given Homefront's online a bit of higher had it delivered a few different modes and...maybe..1 or 2 more maps (although the shipped ones are good). Ugh..that visual design is something you can't escape, whether it be SP and MP.
There's some weird glitches I've noticed on the MP side that I first noticed on the roof of a Hooters (forget nap name). When I shot out my 2 He...
I personally disagree. Ep. 1-3 are movies I can honestly watch over and over again. I'd also argue that all of the SW movies are obvious cash-ins, given the toy manufactering that started right at the beginning.
"You do know the entire premise of a game review is to compare it against other games..."
Although you later state this is your point of view, this part is clearly up for debate. When it comes to Edge's deilvery on reviews, I actually respect them for refraining from the annoying comparison game of what's it does better than x or y game (which is funny given they usually have the longest reviews). It's not that it's considered inconsistent, but m...
They gave Skyward Sword a 7.5 so there's no chance of it being nominated.
One of the top 5 articles on n4g (atm): "Two Playstation 3 exclusive games joining the Platinum Range lineup"
Troll harder.
Exactly. Even when 2nd/3rd parties take the risk of sticking exclusive (or limited their platforms in general) when they have the choice to do otherwise, they're also rewarded with a fanbase that pushes those titles: thereby administering more competition. I'd love for thatgamecompany to keep making games exclusive for the PS brand simply because sales driven from flower (and soon Journey) could inspire other developers, both indie and $40-$60 retail, to strive for different artisti...
I'm sorry, but that's really calling for those people to get a life. Granted..ha..I'm one to talk (I Christmas-fied my Memento avatar for goodness sake), but that absolute need to grind your way to the max level in about 5 days {after early access codes were given} is kind of telling that you're sort of disregarding what experience the game was intended to deliver.
Of course...there's always alts for that :P.
- What you initially stated makes no sense at all. Examples like LBP show that Edge hasn't reviewed PS3 games under the radar, while certain 360 games have been given score below their meta by Edge.
- "There isn't really any other explination for that other than Edge are unprofessionally bias."
Really? You've stated absolutely nothing on the context of their reviews and now you're calling them unprofessionally bias?
Althought the Tropico series looks fun, I have rarely been able to hold my patience for sims like these :(. Happy reviewing! :)
*Rolls eyes* That's the usual over-dramatization I expect to see. Sure, no Star Wars since Empire has been burned as an all time classic by critics, but that doesn't mean any of the ones to follow aren't solid movies in their own right. When you reach what is probably the epitome is sci-fi/fantasy opera greatness that is New Hope/Empire, there necessarily isn't anywhere to go but down.
- Your point just shows how Destructoid's follow-up rings true (in most cases). In three posts, you've made NO agruements against the context of either this review or MW3's review that you're blantantly trashing. How can you possibly think your point is solid by looking at your previous statements?
- " And whenever a publication does it, it's to defend itself."
Umm...yeah it is defending its opinion...by diving deeper into ...
"It was set for all formats"
Yeah...back in 2005, then was announced 360/PC after it wasn't heard from in awhile.
I agree, it did end abruptly. At the same time, that's something to be expected given both Resistance 1 and 2's ending cutscenes ran for 30 seconds at the most. At least it felt complete.
The only two blockbuster 2011 FPS campaigns I haven't completed are KZ3 and Crysis 2 so I can't speak on comparisons.
That's what I mean by "the release date" part :).
That's great to see Resistance 3 holding its own in Europe, especially so soon after it released. While it may have underwhelming sales compared to its predecessor, I argue it's more of a case of the release date than the actual quality being the reason for fewer sales. Those looking for the best new FPS campaign this year should look no further.
"Let's pretend I am..."
I found this a funny way to open your statement.
"Whenever a publication has to post an article defending their view, usually there is something wrong with that."
You're going to have to give proof of this to back up an insinuation like this. Whenever publications do this, it's normally to dive deeper into a review to allow the publication to deal with the usually heated traffic. ...
What you just stated isn't even considered circumstancial evidence of Edge being biased. Playing the comparison game with metacritic to judge bias is the very joke I was implying in my first post. You know, words the abuse of the terms "bias" and "proof" have lost their real impact thanks to posts like yours.
I'm guessing everyone you disagree with loses credibility in your eyes.
Hope everyone enjoyed the review. I'm glad I pushed this review out before Christmas since it could be on some gamer's wishlist.
My personal view on who to buy this for:
Gamer with no online connection: Don't buy...unless you want to show that cousin what you really think of him/her :P.
Gamer who's the type that goes straight to online: This is certainly a game for him/her.
In light of TOR releasing s...
I heard Dead Island launched with a plethora of problems across all platforms.
I knew there was something off the minute I started playing Crazy Taxi.
