It doesn't surprise to see such a major decision like this being played in the shadows. Thank you for this information. I'll be sure to dive into it more later on :).
"coolbeans wins too many times..."
At life and n4g (what more could you ask for?). I'm the first one that hit "agree". Just to let you know :P.
The video's been blocked.
What really infuriates me is the idea that the "self-respecting gamers" can't like these games in his/her eyes. Perhaps the author didn't intend for that, but perception is key.
I've had some great times in Assassin's Creed (1) and MW3 too.
Solid piece on SWTOR; however, you can't really make a complaint against Star Wars EU's refusal to drastically change how the technology is for said timeline. Just like with LOTR, Star Wars is still a fantasy [opera] first so no one HAS to introduce new changes in the overall tech.
^And a new motion perhipheral doesn't make a difference? The logic I presented is concrete. There's thousands upon thousands of better things we could be doing with our money; Kinect isn't the worst of the culprits.
Why don't we act like this whenever each new CPU or GPU comes out at a higher price and may only boost its predecessor's performance by 10%?
Nah, I'll just ban you for this month :P.
"If they're are upset by the game and don't want their kid to play it..."
I see where you're going, but are you directing that part at the Family Research Council?
Ps3 Withcer 2 has never been off the table, but you have to look at the time this has taken. PC and 360 have similar architecture, yet it has taken these guys nearly a year to polish this port up to peak performance. It just displays how much time SHOULD be taken in addressing the strengths/weaknesses of each console.
It's amazing to see such a smaller game developer-compared to the rest of the field-essentially teaching many others how to make RPGs and quality ports. CD Project Red has to be in the top 5 for this-gen success stories.
From what I've read, it's more about "not turning back" than sheer difficulty.
I agree, it would be Underground 2, followed closely by NFS2: Hot Pursuit.
I see this thread was doomed before it even got 10 approvals.
It wasn't so much those features as it was the extra customization, such as working out, eating a boatload of chicken, and fine tuning a certain car you like.
2-for-2 on what I would score the GTA games! Excellent narrative, meticulous focus of New York City (both in spirit/ethos and design), comprehensive MP, etc. etc. Only shame is how many of those extra elements from SA were removed.
Basically the same score I would give this one. The only GTA game that can stand shoulder to shoulder with the technical/gameplay marvel of GTA3 (which I give a 10).
There are so many other developers who're not receiving the ample credit they deserve. There's been plenty more "saving graces" this gen.
"Hmmm. I wonder. It wasn't to the Wii. I mean, sorry for being totally cliche, but we know the Wii sold to 'teh casuals and grammas', right?"
How do you know this isn't the case? Surely you can't think over the 100+ million PS2 purchasers were all "core gamers". It's perposterous to think Wii's market share is nearly 100% a new user crowd of 'kiddies and grandmas'.
New Flashpoint and Operation already? Guess I'm going to have my plate full when I reach 50 (I'm level 49 atm :P).
