This is (unfortunately) where the whole "Edge is biased" conspiracy is cranked up to eleven. They never post which person on the editorial team actually created the review.
*blushes* Thank you :)
@kingdavid
WTF does that mean? It could simply be a sandbox game more suited to his tastes. Heck, Eiffel has a review (still on the front page) on why he liked the game so much.
Technically, all of the "dead code" containing more dialogue is there for the taking (look at Project Gikza). That could be essentially polished by any studio.
One could be inclined to believe this re-release could be another focus test, like that of Shadows of the Empire basically was for the prequels. And stop killing my dreams!
If KOTOR 3 turns out true:
coolbeans = :'D
Even CoD's pre-orders have perks! This system just won't die.
:P
I'm honestly not sure how this is a complaint. Elite members who subscribe get the maps a few months early while non-sub members just wait until they add up into a 6-pack collection. There's really no reason to complain about a voluntary stat-tracking service (with most of the features free anyway) that doesn't coerce you into purchasing the yearly subscription.
Certainly feel bad for those at Zipper who lost their jobs. As least they went out with a bit of dignity with this game instead of SOCOM 4, which seemed to raise a bunch of complaints with fans of the series.
Sorry I can't talk much about the game itself; I haven't owned a handheld since my Gameboy in the...late 90's. lol
No problem :)
I can certainly respect what the writer is getting at here. The only problem with the article is how it mentions CoD2 begins with the D-Day mission (Pointe De-Huc I think it was called). The beginning of CoD2 place you in the shoes of that Red Army private in Russia.
Hopefully, he frequents on here so this can be editted (perhaps it will be corrected by the time you read this)

I can agree that I was left trying to dive deeper into the story as well. Like other minimalist gameplay/narrative games I've played, Dear Esther did leave me with a few emotional moments. UNLIKE those other minimalist games I've played, I felt Dear Esther took away too many of the novelties those other games employed. As much as I enjoy the "Iceberg Theory" in narratives, I don't like when certain elements feel intentionally shackled. ...
No problem. If you wish to discuss the game and/or review further (since you're out of bubbles D:), feel free to PM me with...well generally whatever you want to ignite more enjoyable discussion.
:)
From the review: "Unwilling to bow down to conventional game wisdom, Dear Esther is a game that focuses more on stimulating the player through storytelling rather than gameplay mechanics-an ambitious attempt in today’s market."
Although I'm glad you commented (your comments are always welcome :D), your assumption is wrong. You would be correct if you stated I don't have much experience in these games like "The Path", "Everyday The Same Dream&...
Goldeneye (N64) was made by Rare, not Nintendo.
From what I recall of the multiverse episode (one of the few new ones I've seen in a long time):
- One universe had no Christians in it with science 1000 years ahead compared to us.
- One universe was dedicated just to make one joke about Walt Disney's supposed anti-semitism
...It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know Family Guy's low-brow, no-wit humor will display just shallow it has become and how offensive it needs to be...
Hope everyone enjoyed the review. :D
It's rather surprising to see how tough it was to review a game that's based so much around experiences. It was a fun criticism, but felt like a chore to explain sometimes.

"...$15 LIVE monthly fees, contracts... urh!"
Feel free to prove how this contract deal for ONE of the 360 bundles will be implemented into EVERY 720 bundle. You could have had a decent argument going without the part I quoted.
You should see him in the n4g forums. He's constantly bragging about his cheevos/trophies and raging at those who slander CoD. ...../s :P
I think he really mentioned his 1000/1000 to point out that his opinion is essentially final since he searched every nook and cranny for that 100%. There's also been reports of some critics not even finishing the game before they post their review (these reports heightened by ME3's ending).
It's really not Sony's fault. Just a CVG article looking for hits.

While I need to go somewhere online and reread all of the different verses to better support my theory, my initial thoughts were that my trip through the island was a manifestation of his subconscious while he's recovering from the accident with Esther (or she may be dead already). Although he has those letters set out to sea, I think that's metaphorical for honest feelings/adventures in his head that he'll never be able to discuss with her.
