Business suicide. Although it might work in developed countries where most people have reasonable if not still brilliant net access, the sales of such a machine in still fairly strong territories with poor net access- the africas etc will be......zero.
By going cloud only you automatically take away a vast amount of your audience including casuals that maybe never even hook their machine up to the net.
Its all relative. Console gamers just don't understand a thing like resolution, seems to me. Wii games are said to have last gen visuals, but when pumped into HD on an emulator they generally look rather crisp.

Actually feels like a step back from Forza 3 to me. There have been noticeable compromises in game i think. I hope some things are gonna be different in the final game. The track chosen with in your face colours and no subtlety, the music...the way you can easily hold massive massive powerslides for ever and ever in sim mode in the 458. It has more than a whiff of outrun stylee arcade racer about it.

I didn't really expect many visual upgrades. Forza 2 to 3 was a big leap but basically its about the same as 3 with tiny tweaks here and there, or changes to times of day rather than huge wholesale visual changes.
Its still a sweet looking game but if you expect some sort of graphical leap over Forza 3 then you won't find it here.
Horses for courses. These are great games and i enjoyed them but i class myself well outside the diehard Nintendo fan area so i would like to see Nintendo grow beyond Mario and Zelda.
This will never, ever happen though because they are masters at catering to their dedicated audience for those titles. These people are the ones who will always put certain Nintendo titles and behaviour above any criticism, even though they might be deserving of some.

The framerate is very dodgy and stuttery. I hope that this is a early build and the finished thing is far better. The game has gone gold BTW, several weeks ago.

The 'settings' are often a little bit arbitrary to be honest...They are often extremely rough guidelines and you won't really know how a game runs until you see a benchmark to give you an idea or try it yourself.

I think you aren't looking hard enough. Everyone that even reviewed this game acknowledges it looks better and that the details are improved, and the effects are improved.
When the game launched last year people moaned ove rlow res textures on cars, these aren't mega high res, but clearly higher than 2010. The paddock areas are also clearly higher res as well as many of the billboards and trackside textures.

Playing the PC version now. Looks fantastic with everything turned on in DX11. Much crisper than 2010. Far better reflections on the cars and lighting. Better textures and track models. Even better wet races and better track reflections.
PC version one of the best looking racers made IMHO. But it gets better still- it even runs a breeze maxed out.

A core 2 duo and 8800GT is four year old and minimum, and that poops from a great height over everything in either console.
This being the 'crappy' PC that you need to run this. That being the case, then ANY machine that meets min spec of it will beat the living daylights out of 360 and PS3.

Crysis four years ago implemented an entirely dynamic lighting system with full HDR. This means everything is calculated on the fly, as it should be. Static lighting, canned lighting? Nope. Proper HDR moving from light to dark areas? Yep. Full SSAO? Yep. Subsurface scattering of all the foliage, skin etc? Yep. No game this console gen even gets close to that sophistication.

However it has to be bad for a reputation if a company the size of Microsoft or Sony decides to eliminate a lot of people from their potential sales market.
