Yup. Rare's best work is long behind them. The founders left in 2007, most of the original talent since they were bought by a vast sum by Microsoft have left. They are a shadow of what they once were, reduced to creating kinect sports titles? Really?? You think thats what they actually want to make?
Microsoft want to keep the name but have seemingly lost faith in the company and the people now working for the studio.
The point wasn't about comparison between the console versions. I think you missed the point talltony.
I have played both but this whole link is about drawing a comparison between Crysis 2 settings on console and on PC. The point was that outwar claimed Crysis 2 is unoptimised for console.
Clearly its optimised rather well for a multi plat as you said so yourself talltony, it looks good, for console standards even as a multi game.

Yeah i cant. Cos it doesn't. There is no way anyone would walk into a room with both games running side by side on identical HDTVs and have their eye drawn to the Killzone 3 display. See Crysis first hand. Not screenshots, low resolution, low bitrate youtube videos.
Actually SEE it maxed in 1080p, running fluidly on a HDTV or monitor etc. Then come back and say that without feeling retarded. No one with good eyesight would.
No one.
...
You really believe that? Its one of the better looking games on console compared to other console games.
The REAL reason is that the PC version is in completely another league as even aging PC hardware is considerably better than what is in the consoles.
Dont be utterly ridiculous Ju. You are suggesting it is to be set in a crazy sci fi city even though the events of the first game and thus this take place in the next 10-20 years.
The game is about more advanced experimental human technology but not human ray guns and flying cars. If you think that all of New York would be utterly transformed into this sci fi city in the next 15 years you are going to be disappointed. This game is about the blend of aliens, sci fi and the c...
What i like is that you think those killzone 3 screens are gameplay screens. Didnt you notice how massive the resolution is? LOL
They are clearly being rendered at a high resolution with post processing, then downsampled. In other words, they are simply not gameplay. Whereas these Crysis 2 shots in the lowest render path....are
All these people saying its generic, environment is generic etc
ITS SET IN NEW YORK CITY YOU IDIOTS.
So you walk around a city pointing out buildings saying ooooh thats generic, look at that generic water tower! Generic! Generic! If we can build a spacecraft why aren't all these boring historical brick and iron buildings be flattened so we can build new ones out of carbon fibre and titanium? Why even have Grand Central left with dated old stone, lets ...
Awwww but you had no point! Except whingeing. Whingeing is not a point. This game will be intended for PC, you'll play a similar sort of game on a console that wont be as good as the PC version which the developers targeted and fulfilled their vision on.
No worries, just dont get upset by that fact and truth and moan about it.
My computer IS better than your console for this game though. Thats not PC elitism, its just a simple unadulterated fact. PC gamers aren't arrogant. Just better. If you dont want to hear it dont read it and respond to it that it annoys you, the truth is annoying to you? No one will apologise for that.
Battlefield 2 PC IS the best game in the series, general consensus and reviews would agree with me. That is how battlefield should be, and if you haven't played it on ...
Its Blizzard. Says enough!
They dont do schedules.
Bad company was never battlefield for me. Battlefield is 1942, 2, and 2142.
2 is still far and away the best of the series. You haven't played a Battlefield if you have not played 2 on PC.
I think the handling is just a bit of arcadey fun. If they get so many complaints then its an easy tweak to patch.
Yup i have played the PC version. I have the final version of it here. I played it for several months way back to October of last year with the beta.
Its not the best looking PC game ever. Is it still miles better looking than these versions? Oh yes.
And the winner is....by a huge country mile....PC! Yay!
Lol silly comparisons
PC is the platform this game was meant to be played on really. The console versions only exist to make EA more money, the PC version exists to push the boundaries and satisfy the developer's wishes and ambitions.
Everyone knows the PC version is the one you want to be playing for the full experience of how Crytek want the game to be seen and enjoyed. At its very best naturally!
If you cant play it on PC? Fine. If you can? Jump in already!
Im actually certain they are not the PC version. The PC version of oblivion even back in 2006 has better shaders for water etc than these shots. As has been mentioned also, they are not very high resolution and there is little anti aliasing.
I would be disappointed if they are genuinely PC screens, however i am confident they are console shots
The power of PC is what this is.
It seems developers have totally thrown anti aliasing and anisotropic filtering right out the window on many of their console titles to achieve better shading effects etc. Overall it just ends up looking messy IMO.
Gotta have my 4 x MSAA at least i must say. When you get to the point where an 80 pound low end video card absolutely obliterates the consoles then you know they are pretty aged
The North Koreans couldnt invade a closet these days anyway
Who is Ken Block? Isnt he the guy who finishes near the bottom in the WRC? Anyways.
The game looks great, i had hoped it would devolve a little bit back into the old CMR games, more serious rally titles. The series seemed soooo americanised to sell to the states it just lost all of its charm. I dont mind the Gymkhana stuff as long as the series returns more to its roots.
It was sloppy. It barely ran with playable minimum framerates without a kickass quad core at a time where most people had duals, absolutely gobbled video memory at a time where most cards were 512mb. Just to add insult to injury it didn't support anti aliasing.
Crysis actually managed to run better on weaker hardware half the time and although this is a good looking game it aint no Crysis in the visual stakes.
Luckily Pc hardware has moved on and most...
