If releasing cross platform games was easier it may stay the same but chances are longer development times, increased costs across the board (I.e. personnel, electricity, marketing) will likely drive prices up.
The 3DS is a beast!
as soon as its released for Android I'm getting it. This game is a must have for RPG fans.
Good review of a great game. Touch screen devices perfectly compliment this type of game which is by no means the "casual" type of game that tablets and smartphones usually get stereotyped with.
some good games there and all for a few dollars each.
What exactly about the business Sony, MS or Nintendo are in isn't based on greed?
I pay for my satellite TV service, I still get ads with that. Its how you would like it to work not how it might work.
its difficult to guage just how well or poorly the Vita is doing at this momemt. Sure its sold less than projected but are the low sales still within an acceptable threshold to make the Vita a going concern.
Some of the stores in New Zealand have heavily discounted the Vita to a rediculous, lower then 3DSXL, price however, I'm unsure if its to just clear shelf space for more popular products or if its a genuine push to help the Vita gain some momentum. $299 for the wifi...
@cmpunk53:
reviewers should give scores that reflect their opinion of a game. Giving higher scores cause a system may need it is just as bad as marking a game down because you don't like a system.
Doesn't matter what score is given as long as it is honest, backed up with examples and reflects consistency.
I hope next gen consoles have better AA as jaggies should be a thing of the past.
well, you need to take another look at the app store as there are some quality games already available and more on the way that actually offer some real depth to smartphone and tablet gaming.
wow, looks like 3 people don't care about better AI. Would love to know what games they have been playing where the AI actually made the game a challenge.
Fantastic game and easily some of the best visuals on the 360.
As long as next gen provides the horsepower for better AI then I'm all for it.
This is looking fantastic and this style of game really suits a touchscreen device.
Hicken, why should my comments bother you? you're obviously enjoying your Vita so just pass my comments by. Let me ask you a question however. Did you vocally support the PSP Go like you do the Vita or were you unconvinced it would succeed?
My needs have outgrown what the Vita can deliver and tablet gaming has come a long way in the last 2 years. Bards Tale an Baulders Gate are prime examples of how far tablet gaming has come. With the release of the Tegra 4 next year you'll also start to see some of the best mobile visuals yet!
There is simply nothing yet available on the Vita that I can't experience better on other devices, be it a console or tablet. But my needs are also about apps and media playba...
maybe its the games catalog they are more interested in. PSP has some great games for a fraction of the price of Vita.
No matter what people may think of the Vita version, it should have been the same game as that on its bigger sibling. Treyarch should have made the Vita version like they did the one for the Wii-U.
Even if it is as you say the best FPS on a mobile platform, doesn't mean by proxy that it should receive a high score. Regardless, 2things are certain:
1. More people will now be put off getting the Vita than will get a Vita because of this game.
2. In 6 months time when the online community all but dries up what reason will anyone have to buy the game.
COD on the Vita had the potential to be a game changer but its yet another opportunity gone begging.
Sony fans may not but gamers who platform on the PS3 might.
