hardware doesn't suck but its game library is lacking. Sure there are some solid games available but nothing that really convinces the masses to get a Vita.
I so wish Sony would price PSN content more aggressively. Why are we still paying more for digital downloads than phtsical media at retail!?!
and you can now even easily sync a ds3 controller with tablets.
I agree with what you're saying but nobody would buy a 360 just for netflix would they. Being able to access Netflix is just an insensitive for paying for the Gold service.
If we want to complain about something off topic, why not moan about how Sony charged an upgrade fee for their PlayTV app....whatever happened to that add-on by the way.
So how exactly is the app better on PS3 than on 360? this blog was nothing more than he preferred the ads on one than the other. Do the different apps charge differently for the content? is the quality different?
I don't think anyone is disputing that the majority who buy a Vita are advocates for it but the problem is not many people are buying the Vita. You can list its specs and the games already released and those coming soon but it still is not swaying people to buy it.
If its so good then why has it only sold 3.2 million to date?
yeah, cause sitting on your a$$ playing games on any platform is a good way of meeting woman.
For months I've been reading posts from Vita supporters stating that its fortunes would turn around in Japan when certain games were released. Well, I would have thought now would have been the right time for those games to have been released as those weekly sales numbers are abysmal given the time of year.
In NZ the Vita is now cheaper than the 3DS and it also comes with a free game, its an incredible deal and I'm sure its helping sales but it has me worried about w...
@sik
I was about to ask if 10mil sales in a year was good or not for a handheld.
Looking at Sony's combined sales for its handhelds does not make for great reading considering they had forceast 12mil in sales for 2012. Sure 6mil is ok (I guess) but you can't deny the impact that smartphones and tablets is having. I'm not sure the Vita will last 10 years but it will probably be the last true next gen handheld dedicated to gaming released.
If what you say is true then is not the opposite also true in terms of people attributing violent acts to gaming?
that quote is almost as dumb as this one:
"PlayStation Network to hold the crown for offering the best network to PS3 and PS Vita owners"
This is like saying Microsoft offer the best network to Xbox owners...duh.
honestly, these types of posts are funny as it brings all the fanboys out of the woodwork to show everyone how far they can pi$$.
I'm open to whichever system provides me with the capabilities and games I'm after. But I will not buy any system day 1.
Gamers care about the game and not all the politics or fanboy antics. They may get annoyed that content may arrive late or that a patch needs to be released to make it work as intended but they usually in the end shut up and enjoy the game or walk away from it. Fanboys on the other hand bitch until they believe someone is actually interested in their opinion.
A price drop never saved the PSP Go. Vita needs a price drop plus a bunch more must have games!
how many tablets and smartphones were sold during black Friday week?
did they tell you they weren't?
I don't know either way but one thing is for sure, very few games seem to he selling in numbers on the Vita meaning that profit margins must be extremely tight at best on the platform for developers.
Vita still underperforming in Japan. Some stores in NZ have dropped the price of the Vita to being the same as the 3DSXL! Great deal!
how many units were you expecting the Vita to ship during black Friday week? personally, given how there was so much chatter about price being a factor I was expecting it to shift 400k.
Or maybe the demographic wants an all purpose device as gaming is not their only interest. Oh, and yet another generalisation of phone/tablet gaming all being about Angry Birds, really?
Yes, but look at your list. Barely a title that's not available on the PS3. There is no killer must have Vita exclusive that really raises the profile of the Vita to the masses.
Honestly, if the Vita were a portable Xbox and the only big games on it were Gears and Halo Sony campers would say there is no reason to buy it.
