This is why our generation will die dumb and Ilinformed, people these days don't like to read for themselves... you have done what every other person on the Internet that reads a headline does. Take it as the truth and never look to see if it's actually legit. The patent that Nintendo filed says nothing about its future hardware as being digital only, or no storage medium at all. But misinformed people spread uneducated propaganda... This is everything that's wrong with the curren...
3rd party companies aren't magically going to bring games to the NX because it's x86. Sony and Microsoft have both conditioned these companies that they are willing to pay for meaningless dlc or timed exclusives, so they want Nintendo to pay up also... People don't want to talk about this because it seems like dirty politics. It's easier to chalk it up as Nintendo's fault and they have bad relationships with 3rd party companies. The bad relationship is that Nintendo just i...
What you fail to understand is that life moves on and people do to. The primary reason that Square hasn't revisited games like Chrono Trigger is because most of the talent behind Square's prime years have been long gone. Capcom is ni different, the talent that brought success to their IP's aren't there anymore. I'm sure movie studios would release major blockbusters every year if they could, but things don't work that way and life happens.
So translation is Nintendo needs to pay all of these 3rd party companies to port their games over to their system... As much as you guys don't want to admit what's right in front of your faces, the WiiU would have every 3rd party game out right now if they were lining these companies pockets.
See you're the minority "gamer" that Nintendo isn't trying to go for. The way you come across is as if Nintendo hasn't put out any good games since their 8bit and 16bit era.
It's weird how people want Nintendo to go 3rd party when Sony will probably end up that route much quicker than Nintendo. Toshiba has brought itself low and the whole of Sony will be the cause for its ship sinking. so maybe we would like to see Playstation games as 3rd party tit...
Sony and Microsoft's loyalists don't play Nintendo games, so where would the business sense in that be?
Well I see many people complaining but have already bought into this ecosystem with their phones and tablets that they own.
Don't people play games on all consoles? So the term "play" signifies something only a child does I guess...
I think most Nintendo fans actually want Nintendo to return to a cart/flash medium for their games because 1. It's definitely leaning towards buying one game that plays across multiple devices and 2. Optical drives are slow and a bottleneck. Nintendo already said that they would never go all digital, so people can stop listing that as a negative.
So let me say this, many of you who started gaming in the last 2 generations. Nintendo use to offer a service where you could download games to a cart from a kiosk way back in the day. My bet is that Nintendo will offer multiple options to get new games. Full purchase of the games to which you will own physical or digital copy or a subscription model similar to Netflix, where you get games but not necessarily new releases.
At the end of the day people should reserve judgment...
Funny that you as an industry insider for N4G says it doesn't look good after knowing next to nothing about the system and yet Nintendo plans on shipping 20 million units in its first year. They've always been a company that reports sold units and not shipped, so they obviously feel that what they're cooking up will sell as fast as they can make them or close to it.
What makes no sense to me is the level of "concern" that people are generating when the 3DS uses a form of SD card for its game cartridges. It's nothing like the N64 back in the day when no one else was using cartridge technology. SD cards are the primary standard for removable media across the industry. The positives far outweigh the negatives when it comes to Nintendo using this as an option for the NX.
Seriously optical drives are becoming a non factor, most people are becoming very comfortable with streaming devices and the future is moving towards this delivery system anyways. On demand is going to be the future of gaming
There has been no advancements in optical media as of late and that is currently a major bottleneck from having a seamless experience. SD cards currently read, write and store more data than dual layer blu ray disc, while being cheap. So it's not such a bad idea for Nintendo to think outside of the box and make the NX have virtually no load times.
I 100% understand what you said, but at this point that's a very big assumption to make. One can just as well assume that many of the Wii gamers bought PS3&360's and won't be coming back. Sony would like us to believe that majority of the early PS4 owners never owned a Playstation system before. If most of you who have one say there's plenty of reasons to owning the console, then where are the Sony loyalists and what are they waiting for? Should Microsoft never of release...
You guys are excellent at math, so 30 plus million consoles shipped of PS4's and XbOne's equals most of the buying public who bought 7th generation consoles... Nice
Out of the 160 million potential owners of PS3&360, Nintendo just shouldn't even bother going after the many who are on the fence obviously of buying both Sony and Microsoft's current offerings. It's nice that people try to paint this image of hardware and company loyalty, but think back 1...
For $299 Nintendo can build a equal or better system than PS4. I wish people would stop acting like Sony chose bleeding edge tech or something. The most shocking thing that they did was putting 8gb of GDDR-5 in the system, which was a last minute decision.
You know what I can't seem to understand, you guys all make it sound like the PS4 and XbOne have like 80 million consoles sold! I just don't understand this way of thinking and none of you guys should ever be business owners with that mentality, ever... "Well so and so has already released their new product so we shouldn't even try." That's what you guys all sound like. Imagine if Apple listened to everyone who told them the iPhone was going to fail? (I'm sure th...
Elite Dangerous says Hi!
It pretty much did what No Man's Sky is seeking to do. Not trying to take anything from the game, but let's not be so quick to say it's the first of its kind.
If your WiiU was covered in dust then that's more of a testament to your housekeeping, not your videogame consumption...
