When Nintendo first showed the vitality sensor off, that's what came to mind. But with even more capable consoles now, imagine how interactive Ai could be with this input. CPU characters could change how they respond to you based on your heart rate and if you're nervous or scared. Or if you are doing a mission in a game and have to prove that you are trustworthy and they can tell if you are lying or not based on your pulse. Ai interactions definitely need to get much better in games a...
I simply cannot agree with you anymore... People that have these personal issues with hardware must not have been gamers that long. I would never in a million years go and buy a console because it had decent specs on paper. So now a console isn't worth the purchasing price of a dozen must have games? Let me tell you, as a gamer I would gladly pay $300 to Sony, Microsoft or Nintendo to have the pure sense of entertainment that just 4 games on the N64 gave(SM64,Zelda TOoT, MK64, and Smash B...
I really do think that the goal post moving for reasons of not owning a WiiU need to stop! Every positive article about a new great WiiU exclusive reads like your comment. "This is the only game I was interested in, but a console isn't worth owning for just one game." So all of a sudden the system has never seen games like SM3D world, MK8, Splatoon, DKC Tropical Freeze, Bayonetta 2, Smash Bros, Pikmin 3,Super Mario Maker, ZombiU, Wonderful 101, Zelda WW, or upcoming games like X...
Your comment really makes no sense because I know many people that bought the Wii for just that Nintendo games/different experience and they owned either PS3's or 360's first in most cases. Hell even Nintendo was positioning their console last-gen as the best companion console to the other 2 and it worked.
It's not that only casual gamers bought the Wii and now they left for iPad land. Many core gamers bought either the Wii and PS3 or 360, or all 3 last-gen and j...
I do think that people's biggest misconception is that they keep getting hung up on the NX hardware and whether it's a handheld, home console or hybrid and how well each will sell. People should start realizing that this isn't what Nintendo is concerned with going forward. Nintendo’s path to gaming lies in them creating an ecosystem of multiple devices over generations that run on NXos and this is what will bring major publishers back. It becomes a completely different selling poi...
Nintendo made a custom mess with the WiiU and the price it cost to manufacture the thing is what hurt it initially. Now if everyone can get off of this hybrid console nonsense, if the WiiU had launched for $250 and could share the library of games that the 3ds currently has plus the WiiU titles. We would be looking at a totally different situation with the WiiU install base.
So many games on the 3ds could have made the WiiU library a different game machine,(Luigi's Mansion ...
The fact that they are still an independent developer is why they are taking on so many diverse projects. Many people only think of Platinum Games as a hack-n-slash game maker. But if Scalebound turns out good, then it makes them look that much better when big publishers are shopping around ideas and which studio will be the best to handle such work.
I'm almost betting that after Platinum's next few games are finished, we are either going to hear of Nintendo or Micro...
Square Enix is the publisher for Nier 2 and they chose Platinum as the developer. It has nothing to do with Platinum as this choice of the game being exclusive is that of Square Enix and theirs alone...
The game looks really good just not Pixar level yet! Sad thing is that many PS4 owners won't even bother with this game because of it's colorful aesthetic...
That would make it a failure in every sense of the word when a company has put R&D behind it and has games in development but never releases it. That's like if Sony after all this time and money chose not to release Playstation VR, it would be considered a failed release product...
Most of the games you listed aren't Nintendo properties at all!
Just by naming it the Nintendo Success! Another NX article a new day...
This is the biggest problem with the current remasters or remakes. The games aren't that old for people to even miss playing them...
I couldn't agree more! What Nintendo has shown of Zelda U looks more appealing and it's running on a console that supposedly can't handle UE4. So I can only imagine how much better Nintendo’s art style would look with something along the lines of PS4/XbOne.
For all of the people that say they hate gimmicks and 3d, I really hope that this VR fad fades away as quick as motion controls... Wait until technology advances enough and people don't look like they're wearing bicycle helmets on their heads and then it might be interesting to the mainstream consumer.
Just because a console sells 150 million units doesn't mean that one companies system will have the same software attach rate as it may have across 2 individual platforms. The ps2 to PS3 and 360 years should have taught you guys this easy enough. 3rd party developers last-gen saw a much improved sales margin selling to 2 different installed bases than 1. Not to mention that going from PS2 to PS3/360 saw more studios close shop than I can ever remember in gaming history...
But last generation all of the companies sold extremely well and that is what seemed to promote growth the mostime for gaming. I know it helps console enthusiasts sleep better at night that their favorite is selling so well or dominating the others, but we will see more publishers close up shop before this ever becomes a good thing. It just never ends well when the options are limited in the marketplace...
One console being dominant will only lead to more 3rd party publishers closing up shop. These developers need more than one platform to spread their games across to be successful, just look at what Konami said recently. MGSV needs to double it's sales in order to break even! These companies aren't looking to break even on these expensive games and each company paying for short term exclusivity isn't really paying for the full development and marketing that it cost to push these ga...
Happy birthday Nintendo!
And if being doomed since forever means 126 more years, stay doomed... ;)
That's what I was gonna say! lol
