So why are everyone so concerned with game sales instead of new possible content coming to the WiiU. Nintendo has money and if they want Platinum Games to work on another project, well that's what they will do! I don't understand the countless people that spend so much time on these sites drumming up hate for companies because they don't operate the way you want them to...
I know I've stated this before in another article, but I am kind of glad that Nintendo is struggling with the WiiU. When there backs are against the wall we get a totally different company and I for one welcome this Nintendo that is expanding its business reach by leveraging their IP's and seeking new business opportunities.
What did you watch, because most major publications all claimed that Nintendo's approach to e3 last year was the best out of all three companies. I'm sure the Tree House is what really won most people over, but if Nintendo expands upon that idea, they can just hold some game announcement and reveals for the Tree House segment.
So let me get this straight, Nintendo is profitable again, just announced a major partnership with Universal Studios for Nintendo based attractions and doing more with their IP's now than ever. So how does getting rid of the man now serve purpose? Sony is still posting losses but I don't see a call for the president's head every fiscal quarter.
PS5 won't be 10x the power of PS4, people need to get off of this fantasy that every generation is going to be some multiplier of a leap. People actually think that in 4 years Sony will put a gpu with the equivalent power to the Titan Z in their console.
I don't think that Splatoon needs voice chat to talk with randoms as much as the WiiU needs a system party chat application so that you talk to your friends. this is the area in which Nintendo needs to address, not a method for us to talk to strangers but to our friends. A system wide party chat application would solve this from being a issue of topic for every game released.
This is a huge step for Nintendo and Universal! Universal needed a big draw from a wider demographic and Nintendo's IP can do that. Not to mention the amount of merchandise they will sell in these parks will be insane. I'm betting that this is just the start and Universal will want to be primary in the creation of Nintendo IP related movies.
What I'm most excited for is the future of this franchise. If Nintendo is willing to let Monolith go all out on a game like this for WiiU, what will Monolith's next game look like for Nintendo's next console? A series like this could easily be as big as Zelda and Metroid and this is what I'm glad to see from Nintendo. Hopefully we'll get a lot more of this from the company in the near future.
To me I think any name is better than dolls! But just how amazing would a Xenoblade/Metroid crossover be in the future? Talk about epic, the possibilities are endless for a crossover game like that.
You guys can whine all you want to, but the Tree House stream actually showed off more parts of the game that we hadn't yet seen in previous Tree House streams. Also describing the game as a mix between Metroid and Zelda is a pretty good cross of what players can expect from this game.
This kind of repeated poison is what fuels wrong thoughts about a company. Mario Kart and Splatoon probably are going after a similar age demographic. So why does Mario Kart feature some form of chat lobby but not Splatoon? I do believe it was the developers choice, if he stated it was.
Yes Nintendo is still a very Japanese company, but they do allow some colouring outside of the lines every now and then. Does the company need a lot of work, yes! But I don't think they are a...
Omg, hype! If they announce a closee release date for this game... just wow
I think people are arguing for the wrong features. What the WiiU needs to incorporate is a custom Skype app where players can video chat after matches or voice chat while they're playing whatever game they might be playing(not just individual titles). Just allow these functions to only take place between friends and that solves everyone's problems. I personally don't really care to talk to strangers on the Internet, but I can also see where matches in splatoon might be too short t...
What's funny about your comment is that even during the GC years Nintendo lost 3rd party market share and it was mostly due to Microsoft pushing money around. PS2 was already selling like crazy so 3rd party companies started to see that when desperate, console makers will shell out cash to receive equal support. This is one area where they haven't been able to break Nintendo into. Nintendo's next console could be twice as powerful as the PS4 and it wouldn't receive the same su...
Let's see how people try and spin this as negative news!
I had to give you a bubble up, because Lol-Wut is such a troll when it comes to anything Nintendo. As you have already stated, are we imagining that this is a bad score or something... because it isn't! People are acting as if there are 6's and 7's in that review score.
Well you guys can be disappointed but I'm not in the least! It's not about giving Nintendo a pass, it's about the amount of content this game will contain and the depth of all the game play elements. As many others have stated this game wasn't sold to the public solely on its visual flair. It was the combination of game play, graphics and scale that made this game so ambitious. So if that's what people choose to complain about, then let em...
Once again, for anyone who doesn't understand content creation, royalties and copy rights reserved. Go read up on it, because this isn't anything new to the movie or music industry... We aren't talking about fans that went out and purchased games and systems and just want to share their experiences in a live stream, like people do on twitch. As soon as you bring money making into the equation, that changes things drastically.
The entertainment industry as a whole works like this! The video game industry is just behind the times. Think of YouTube personalities as radio stations, now radio stations need content to play in order to reel in listeners, in order to book ad spots for the station. It's one big circle of pie, but in no way shape or form do they get access to music for free! So why are people defending the fact that there are big YouTube personalities that make way too much money for discussing or pla...
To be honest he shouldn't be anyways... let the producers, developers and the Tree House do the E3 stuff. Iwata should be focusing on more deals like the Universal stuff and expanding the overall product reach of the company.
