Neonridr is far from anti Nintendo, just check his post history. I think what he said was just misinterpreted, but yeah companies that have strict PR policies in place. This will most likely always be the outcome, due to sensitivity of information is important to how they conduct business. But then again when you are an employee of any company you should definitely understand the rules and regulations that you agreed to upon being hired.
Nintendo wants to mimic what apple has done so well but on the gaming front. It's not just the hardware that sells iphones, but the ecosystem that apple has created to keep people loyal. So most Apple product buyers feel that they are investing into a unified seamless environment where they have access to all of their forms of entertainment on multiple iOS devices.
My main thought is that it maybe in Nintendo's best interest to partner with a much larger company that...
Some of us like to read and actually have intelligent banter back and forth.... just saying
Publishers and the console manufacturers needed something to push people out of their old consoles and into the new ones. So talking about how powerful the hardware is and how pretty the games will be, makes consumers feel like they are getting more than their money's worth. Look how long the cell phone giants have been pushing this yearly upgrade your phone bs.
The 360 & PS3 had install bases of 80 million plus each, so the NX facing the PS4 and XbOne isn't remotely the same situation. If anything this is Nintendo's best time to show that they can put out a impressive console in the face of competition. These other systems are still very new and currently selling to their core fan bases. Many people have not moved from the PS3&360 yet because of many different reasons, but by the time Sony and Microsoft are ready to give up on this g...
I couldn't agree more with you and not only that but many fanboys here want these executives to detest the competition they way that they spend their every waking moments on N4G trashing consoles that aren't their favorite.
If one cannot afford to be a multi console gamer then I can understand the need to find every reason to uphold that manufacturer of choice.
But to those that can afford to own multiple consoles, you are doing yourself a disservice as a ga...
Actually Sony only has the Move at shipping 15 million not 25+ as you stated. The kinect and wii ballance board are the 2 most successful add on devices of the 7th generation. If Nintendo can get most of the important 3rd party games their next console will look miles better than the WiiU has. The NX won't be nearly in the same position either, because both the PS4 and XbOne just released a short while ago. Neither Sony nor Microsoft are going to chop off their current success to start ta...
If Sony's TV division were doing so well they wouldn't be reporting losses. Why do fanboys ruin everything with this brand is better than that one talk!
16nm won't even be a mature or reliable process by the time the NX goes into production. Until we actually see mass production of high powered gpu's on that process, no company like Nintendo is going to try and use something that isn't tested and proven in the marketplace. And forget about a Intel/Nvidia combo, there's no way it would be reasonably priced with those two...
Nintendo is heading the way of Nokia with billions of dollars in the bank, no debt, dominating the handheld sector and making profits again each quarter. This comment really makes a lot of sense... Does Nintendo need to change things going forward with their home console business? Yes, but people are getting a bit crazy with these comparisons these days.
No such thing as future proofing!
These new consoles already don't seem that impressive anymore. Primarily because the graphics aren't going to magically get leaps and bounds better on the familiar hardware.
I can't agree with you enough! Every day there's some new NX article with no official information about the system yet...
Nobody knows anything about the NX right now except for developers very close to Nintendo. Maybe early next year we will actually get legit leaks of info, but until then everyone else is just trying to drum up traffic to their website.
VR will be as successful as 3d was, it's too expensive right now for it to ever become a mainstream thing.
This is my point entirely! The only developers that have final specs on what NX is are in house Nintendo developers at best. So everything else is just rumors at this point...
So realistically you believe that the PS4 will sell 25 million systems by next year? Sony is not dropping the price anytime soon.
The way that the NX could be a major threat to ps4 is if Nintendo is targeting a mass market appeal. That will be the final crowd that Sony needs to catch PS2 numbers.
Listen I'm willing to give Sony their props on PS4 being extremely successful, but at $399, $350 or $299 the PS4 will never catch the PS2 in sales. It simply comes down to mass market pricing and the current buyers are still under the early adoption fanbase. The PS2 will probably go down in videogame history as the ultimate console because of its lock on software and the price it launched at and for how expensive dvd players were back then.
My guess is that PS4 can probab...
I really think that Sony and Microsoft plan on making these consoles last just as long as the previous generation. As more years go by they will make even more of a profit on the hardware and by the time the NX launches I think that both rival consoles will still be at $299.
So far Horizons and Uncharted are the only games coming soon that make me want a PS4. The rest of the games sound aways off! KH3?, FF7? Shenmue? We will be lucky if we see these games by the end of 2017 at the rate square is going and Shenmue is way too early.
