Yeah I definitely agree with you here. With all of the new partnerships that Nintendo has coming up and the pushing of their IP's to TV, movies and other forms of media. I can only see them making more money and not less in the near future, not going the way of Sega as many here would wish for. Most Nintendo fans would like to see the company return to the ways of its earlier years when it fought tooth and nail against sega. But at the rate Sony and Microsoft are going, one will be out of...
What's so funny is how up in arms everyone is and no one even knows what the NX is! It could be their next handheld for all we know.
Not true at all, the Xbox 360 had the better gpu and Nvidia was not willing to lower the price of chips that it sold to sony. Its one of the main factors why Microsoft went with Amd instead of nvidia, because of their prices... everyone knows that watt for watt nvidia makes better gpu's than Amd, but Amd tries to make up for that with competitive pricing.
This console would be priced like the PS3 was then... Intel and Nvidia are the market leaders of their respective segments and don't really value the console business side of things.
1St party software wise the WiiU is an amazing system and the major dissatisfied feeling I have with the way that Nintendo handled the system. Is the whole concept of WiiU was asymmetric game play first is what they talked about and almost no title uses this at all. The Wii from the very beginning had software that showcased why the control method was innovative. The WiiU on the other hand feels like Nintendo was being different for the sake of being different. Which is the worst possible thi...
I think Nintendo gave him a bigger influence in console design after he helped conceive the N64 controller.
Meryl, what are you talking about though? The WiiU was revealed in 2011 and launched in 2012. If the Nx is just unveiled next year but launches in 2017, that's 5yrs of WiiU being on the market. Which is well within a normal console life cycle for Nintendo. GC had 5yrs on the market too, not any longer! Mario Galaxy 3 would be much better suited to launch for the Nx and let Zelda be the WiiU swan song.
Since e3 though Nintendo themselves have almost come out and said themselves that it's the next home console.
I have no clue why people think the PS4 Is so powerful. If Nintendo can wait on finalizing their specs until AMD gets the Tonga pro on finfet next year. That gpu alone puts out 3.4 teraflops for $200 retail and big manufacturers like Nintendo never have to pay full price because they buy in bulk. Not only that but on the newer manufacturing process, the Tonga pro could probably easily be modified to get 4 tflops and stay under or around 100 watts. Of course this isn't saying that Nintendo...
I don't, I actually want Monolith to get started on the next great open world RPG for the Nx. The Nx needs a great year one RPG out of the gate and these guys are definitely the ones to bring it!
Here's hoping that it's made with the western gamers thought in mind first, since we play a bigger roll in the buying public for home consoles. Western gamers don't mind owning multiple consoles if there's something that really piques their interests.
People have to stop listing get 3rd party support as guarantee. If you guys remember, when the WiiU was announced it had all of the major 3rd party developers listed on stage with them. That doesn't mean that they will commit top notch projects to the platform. Nintendo needs to take a page from Samsung and create a sophisticated enough piece of hardware that gets the industry excited about it. It's not always just the hardware that gets people excited about the latest phones, but wh...
You got disagreed with because the Wii and WiiU are the first Nintendo home consoles to not be cutting edge. Their previous systems were generally the most powerful or produced the best visuals. People need to let go of this Nintendo always produced weak hardware thing, that's not true. Also, why do people equate Nintendo hardware with going Dreamcast? Sega was broke when they launched the Dreamcast and filed for bankruptcy shortly afterwards. Nintendo is nowhere near that same situation,...
I think the big difference from what was said in 2012 and 2013 is that Nintendo making HD games realizes what it can offer to their franchises. Miyamoto himself said that he loved pushing Pikmin into the HD era and wouldn't mind seeing the next installment utilize 2 or 4k visuals. Even Nintendo's obsession with 60fps in their games proves that they see and understand that better hardware can afford new experiences. Seeing how Sony and Microsoft are going very hard for VR, I think Nint...
What Nintendo needs to do with the NX before finalizing specs, is find out what kind of hardware that developers would like to make games for! I guarantee that if Nintendo could get the industry buzzing behind them about their hardware once more, it in turn will excite the gaming population. This is why I still believe that Nintendo should partner with Valve and have the NX run SteamOS for its 3rd party games delivery. The timing for this next console should be perfect because these gpu manuf...
The very frustrating thing about Nintendo's Digital Event was that it was 3 steps backwards from what they did last year at e3. So just when fans feel like Nintendo is listening they go and do this! Don't get me wrong as e3 coverage has gone on I feel less burned by the Digital Event because they are actually showing good portions of games that we've never seen before. But e3 is all about hype for the future and the picture that was painted by Nintendo is that WiiU doesn't ha...
It's says this game is coming out this year, so I wonder if Nintendo will show more of it during the Digital Event today
I just want to see the game on as many platforms as possible...
I Hear You On That, But It makes no Sense when Platinum is already making projects for those systems as well. You can't fault Nintendo if they like Platinum Games quality and want them to make 5 or 6 games. People should be blaming Sony and Microsoft for not hiring these guys more to create unique games for their systems. It just gets old seeing those types of comments, I can only imagine if Nintendo does announce a new Platinum project N4G will go nuts!
I don't think anyone is discounting Sony's success with the PS4, but more of how quick they were to abandon the Vita and Sony fans aren't riding them for that. Sony needs the PS4 to be a monster success more than even Nintendo needed the WiiU to be. Both companies were reporting losses for years, but Nintendo has managed to turn that around in the face of one of their worst selling consoles ever. Sony is still reporting losses though and something drastic will needed to be done if...
