This exactly, I don't understand why people can't just enjoy a game if it's meant to be fun over esthetics. We all know that the WiiU isn't the strongest hardware, but it still has some great games and this generation more than any has people arguing over visual effects and specs.
Keeping with the times would be for them to re-release every Wii game on the WiiU... The remastered generation!
Well the whole optimization for consoles made sense when consoles had custom hardware. But they are just using PC and laptop parts now, so it doesn't really make sense anymore that people still use this.
The specs on paper don't mean much when the games look the same on both! I don't understand why people are so hung up on selling the specs of these consoles as if they're high end or something...
If Nintendo is willing to let me choose if I want a disc drive or not and sell me a cheaper console in the process, I am all for this method of buying. Options are never a bad thing and if I'm not forced to buy something that I generally don't use anyway, I'm all for the options...
Actually it sounds like Nintendo wants to be more like Apple and release their products in their own time line outside of the traditional generations. A unified software environment similar to Android or iOS devices would allow developers the ease of knowing what they are going to get OS wise and what hardware Will be compatible without any major overhaul on their end.
It's fun discussing speculation and all but people should take it as that... Everyone talks about how great the PS4 Is but now it's a bad thing if Nintendo specs the NX closer to it. Of course we would all like to see Nintendo just raid the bank and put out something cutting edge technology wise. But look at the software Nintendo is putting out for the WiiU and imagine their games running at PS4's level, they could do some amazing things with that level of hardware.
I agree, most people under NDA would never disclose this much info. Most of the time when things leak it's something specific about the product, like when the 6" touch screen of the WiiU was being rumored. It sounded so crazy that you knew it had to be true...
I completely understand your comment, but your post reads as if this is officially confirmed info! It's just rumors people and what is listed is very general at best. Saying that the NX home will be close to the XbOne and PS4 is just extremely vague, nothing remotely insider information on that.
I don't think that many are just out right denying what it could be one day. It's just most of us that know better and what it should be understand that to have an impressive VR experience requires a bigger leap in hardware...
I think Sony renovates alot of ideas, not innovate! Plus that's what most of you love about them anyways is that you know what you're getting from the company
Why do you think Sony hasn't revealed it yet? If it was highly affordable, that would have been the first thing they touted. But my guess is its going to be a few hundred dollars starting price. My point still stands that there are very few add on devices that sell extremely well. The kinect and wii ballance board were 2 such devices that had a great attach rate and look where those are now. Price will keep morpheus from being a critical success. Yes the hardcore Sony loyalists will go out and buy it day 1, but add on devices don't do too well in this market. The fact that VR is difficult to demonstrate live will make it nearly impossible to promote to the mainstream media.
Tomb Raider is probably what comes to mind first. Some of these movies that try to stick to close to the source material come across very cheesy...
Because the people who are complaining aren't remotely interested in buying the game! Not to mention this is being developed by Platinum Games and what are they most known for, "challenging games". So yes many consider this stealth trolling!

On top of it people don't like to read here so to see some of the senseless theories coming from N4G sound ridiculous. Anyone who has read the patents know that it sounds like Nintendo isn't ruling out anything and will most likely sell multiple versions that appeals to what each customer wants. But who knows I just got all of that from reading for myself instead of trusting the psychic network here on this site...

The Playstation gamers should not be worrying about Nintendo's money and status in the gaming industry. Sony is in dire straits right now and Playstation won't save them, so focus your concerns on that Japanese company. Nintendo has already come out and stated that they are going to continue to be Nintendo, so if that doesn't suit your taste then get out! They aren't forcing you to buy their products and most of you are content with buying broken 3rd party games at launch, so ...
