They probably are one of the most efficient developers around when it comes to time management. Just look at how many games they've already put out on multiple consoles no less.
People really do need to calm down a lot, this game is basically a remaster or retelling of what is considered by many to be the best StarFox game in the series. They weren't trying to break the bank with high production values, it's more of a fan service than anything.
Clearly you don't understand business, you can't even buy a new 360 or PS3 for $80. How can Nintendo sell the WiiU for that price and be happy with the loss in profits?
I don't think thats fair because splatoon isn't Mario but it's selling well. I just think Nintendo didn't push it hard enough, but considering the install base it still has a high attached rate.
Are people still crying about this? Wow...
I'm actually hoping that Nintendo and Valve partner to bring steam to home consoles. I know that it's not a popular opinion in the gaming realm, but what better advantage could a Nintendo console have by being able to offer steam sale prices on 3rd party games.
I'm pretty sure that next year we are not only going to see the NX handheld, but at e3 they will probably show the prototype home console and how software works between both devices. Nintendo is going to want to present this message as clear as possible when unveiled and generate as big of buzz as possible leading up to the home console. Hopefully they wait until next year to finalize the home consoles specs, but pretty sure at this point that the next handheld is set in stone with what t...
Nintendo has more money in the bank than Sony and profitable now. Why pull a Sega, Sega doesn't look that healthy! Sony and Microsoft should just let Apple and Samsung make consoles while putting their games on those platforms. Arguments that you pose go both ways in business and only the fan boys post such comments. It's even more insane when people say the PS4 & XbOne when we already know that Nintendo is working on their next hardware already. You guys can get a little creative...
Here's an article on Miyamoto talking about how Pikmin could benefit from 4k resolutions.
http://www.gamnesia.com/new...
Many people think that Miyamoto would steer the company into a more of the same direction, but his comments on wanting Nintendo to arrive in the HD Era much sooner than the WiiU kind of proves that he gets where Nintendo needs to ...
The sad thing is that many will claim excitement just for N4G sake and won't bother spending a dime out of their pockets this game. The style of play for this game is very niche at best and for those that are expecting Star Wars level of action and fast paced space combat will be dissatisfied in the end. Other than that hopefully people will vote with their wallets and support developers that put such passion into games like this.
The sad thing about your comment is that amiibos are purchased once and interact with multiple games. No dlc around offers this level of interaction with other games. How does one even begin to complain about free dlc? Splatoon has been extremely fun out of the gate and Nintendo is only making the game better. My guess is that Splatoon is a very different game from what Nintendo is use to developing and Splatoon will be a game that keeps evolving over the life of the WiiU. I have many games t...
I was thinking about the very same thing happening with Nintendo's mobile games as well. I believe that their mobile games alone will be such a lucrative business that it will offset what they need to spend in the portable and home sector all together. Maybe such a money cushion will bring about the very aggressive Nintendo of the nineties.
Calm down it won't be anytime soon over in Japan. Home consoles just aren't that popular there. The NX might be out before the PS4 passes the WiiU in Japan for that matter
That would be way to many egos involved for that project to happen. Kojima needs to be the sole vision in development, that's what makes his games work...
Here's the list of things that Microsoft changed at the launch of XbOne and it was way more to it as to why people were upset. It wasn't just about a digital console ecosystem.
"Microsoft will announce what amounts to a complete reversal on its DRM policies for Xbox One today.
What does this mean?
:No more always online requirement
:The console no longer has to check in every 24 hours
:All game discs will work on ...
There's a reason that Nintendo chose not to go with the Galaxy theme for their Mario outing on WiiU and it's probably because all it would have been is a HD adaptation of what the Wii gave us. Now if the NX is multiple times more powerful than WiiU, Nintendo can play around with more advanced physics and effects to take platforming to the next level.
People really should stop spreading misinformation on N4G. The main factors that upset many during the XbOne unveil had more to do with the always on DRM security check that they planned to use. This is a different issue totally and if the console manufacturers can provide something as enticing as Steam on consoles many would choose digital over physical. As it stands currently there's no benefit to choose digital on consoles though...
Here's what you guys have to consider is even if Sony does research a new bluray format, it's not going to read fast enough to play games directly from the medium. Also will it be a format that only Sony primarily uses and who's going to eat that cost? Not to mention what size hdd are these consoles going to need if we expect games to grow between 100-300 GB for next-generation. These games are going will need to be mandatory installed to even have a remotely good playing experien...
They probably will make a new bluray format, but you will have to install everything onto the hard drive right after you buy the disc because the drive reads to slow! This is where drives are headed, they just aren't advancing enough to stay relevant in the market. The next consoles will need to come with 10 terabyte drives just to store an adequate amount of games on there.
Yeah I know it's not a remaster, but people seem to be more accepting of that when it's in front of most games. Not to mention since Nintendo is planning on going full swing in the NX direction soon, I would much rather Nintendo have Platinum work on Bayonetta 3 or something new for the NX launch!
