At this point Nintendo is more concerned with being profitable than selling a console at a loss for a minor uptick in system sales. Their focus will be on changing things with the NX, but people shouldn't hold their breath on them trying to win western 3rd parties back. The game definitely looks like a fan service to Transformer enthusiasts. The only issue that I see with game play is how the robots scale to each other. They make optimus seem like he's an average size robot, when he's really on the big side. Other than that it looks like a different take on the series over what we're use to... Most won't even try the game because of it's cell shaded graphics, even though it looks amazing like a Saturday morning cartoon.
I really do hope that it's a Platinum Games made character. Bayonetta is probably too extreme, but Wonder Red would be a great fit. Not to mention that the final Smash would be boss!
Listen it's very simple actually, it's not about whether you enjoy Nintendo hardware or not Nintendo isn't going after you as a gamer. What they want are the people that make up their core audience in the console and handheld market to buy more Nintendo software. They are more interested in the gamers that are just getting into gaming to choose a Nintendo device as their 1st console than to try and convert Sony or Microsoft's fanbase over.

I really do think this is the weirdest thing to ask of an independent company like Nintendo to be a 3rd party company. Nintendo like games don't sell well on Xbox or Playstation systems, just look at Sunset Overdrive, PASBR, Little Big Planet, Knack, Rayman or anything that may remotely be colorful or for everyone. I don't have alot of hope that this project will turn out well then. No one wants a half hearted Shenmue game showing up! I still feel that the game being announced at Sony's e3 is a misleading one and hopefully Sony does the right thing and just funds the game... Put your money where your mouth is on this one Sony.
This is how I feel, it shouldn't even be a question of where he should get more money from. If you need to ask the public for money, then the game should be coming to as many systems available on the market. I'm not a fan of these crowd sourced funded projects of late. I never understand why people complain about how much Nintendo’s games cost years later. Have you ever taken a Nintendo game back used to GameStop and witnessed how much they're willing to give you. I took Skyward Sword in early this year and they game me $35 for a game that came out in 2011. Their games hold their value because people don't normally trade them in that often.
