Black Tusk , as they were known before becoming The Coalition, Lion head before they Shut down, perhaps even Rare. They could also have teamed up with a third party developer they trust like Nintendo did with Platinum and Ultimate Alliance 3. They had options but chose to focus on their own stuff which is fair enough.
Because making cross gen games is difficult, less platforms less problems.
Nothing has changed, I see Forza, Halo, Flight sim and Age of empires on that list. The usual suspects bar Psyhconauts 2.
The Xbox App makes the experience so much worse than it should be.
The Alpha is playable and everyone can see where the space sim is now. They also have a development portal where you can see progress or lack thereof. Star Citizen is being developed on a AAA budget and is going to have detail and fidelity the other games will not be able to attain as greatly improved as they are. Recall the stories about RDR2 and fact that in cold weather the testicles of horses would shrink. This is a totally superfluous detail but it is in the game simply because they coul...
The final nail in the coffin of the Arkham formula. It can now become the open world action the publishers want it to be.
As I understand the community that plays the game want "the best damn space sim ever" to quote Chris Roberts.
They are seemingly willing to pay for it too no matter the cost. It behoves RSI to take advantage of the unique situation they find themselves in even if it ends up in failure.
Sure they are still good but nobody is making turn based RPG's on a mainline FF budget. A turn based game is not going to reach as many people today as it did before. Either way they are still going to experiment with the battle system of any one FF title, it just won't be turned based.
There is also pressure from other developers as what they make can also shift the market. Games like The Elder scrolls, Dragon Age, The Witcher, Mass Effect, Fallout etc have leverag...
1.5m is pretty bad for a game that probably exceeded 100m in development costs. It is a shame as GOTG is good a game. Given how often both CD and Eidos underperformed according to SQNX their sale was inevitable.
Yay, back to moving Lara like she is a Sherman.
This was inevitable, I don't think Eidos nor Crystal have ever released a game under SQNX that did not disappoint them. Now they can disappoint the Embracer Group.
I think any studios that released games last year, in 2020 and even in 2019 would be hard pressed to release anything significant thing this year. The pandemic has certainly compounded this even more so that games that would have released this year will release next year. Ditto for games that did or will come out this year lest we forget Forbidden West, GT7, Ragnarok, Gotham Knights, Hogwarts, Saints row, Dying Light 2 among many all had 2021 release dates.
Undead Labs from...
When you can actually sell 20 million copies of your games as opposed to just attracting the players in you can understand their hesitation. When you take that into consideration. Halo Infinite for example reaching 20 million players is not really much of an accomplishment from Sony's perspective and certainly not the number Sony would be looking at to justify putting their production in at Day one.
Who knows what type of Fable game Lionhead would have made if they had remained open? Look at Rare, they made games like Conker, Jetforce Gemini, Banjoe, Perfect Dark, Star Fox Adventures etc and now their flagship game is Sea of Thieves.
Lionhead were as unequipped to make a AAA Fable game as Rare is now to make the kinds of games they used to make. Had Fable legends been as much of a hit as Sea of Thieves they could have been open making live service games.
I don't think people would be calling it great business, Sony have built a particular reputation where PlayStation is concerned. Their fans live and die on the perception of the brand and the people that work for Sony know it and exploit it to great effect.
I think if the Sony made a purchase like this the prevailing conversation would be about how it could affect Sony not the other way round.
It sounds an awful lot like a Drivatar system which also uses a neural network to train AI agents in order provide AI that behaves more human like for players to race against. It works in GT sport so they probably have developed an agent that uses the training model provided by the network in order to drive a car's behaviour. Maybe I am reading to much into the description of Sophy as a network trained AI agent.
"GT Sophy aims to deliver new AI-powered gaming exper...
Sony have announced GT 7 has a Drivatar system. Lol.
If I am not mistaken most of the actual story and narrative was written by Todd Stashwick and Allison Rymer. I remember Whitta mentioning on a YouTube podcast Hennig and himself were mostly involved in world building. Similar to GRR Martin's involvement with Elden Ring.
I expect the game to be an evolution somewhat of FFXV. There were barely any npc's or wildlife roaming about on the map. Entire roads were practically empty of any other type of vehicle other than yo...
Respawn made Apex and Fallen Order. The latter of which is getting a sequel.
Bioware continue to support Swtor and are making new Mass Effect and Dragon Age games.
Bethesda support Elder Scrolls Online, Fallout 76 and make single player entries in those franchises. They are going to release Starfield this year which is not only a new IP but not a live service.
I'm sure Sony's studios can pull it off.
Game pass is a cool guy, He passes games and doesn't afraid of anybody.
