a lot of people are making some great valid arguments, but a few points are being lost in translation somewhere so ill try to clarify in a more direct manor.
Its a very cinematic/story heavy game and thats what i enjoy most about the series. Not just uncharted, but i like narrative heavy games as a whole. Yet there are better ways to tell a story than how its portrayed in uncharted. Its does a good job, but nothing special. What i mean by that is uncharted feels more like a m...
well no matter what, people are gonna view any negative feedback towards uncharted as whining, complaining, nitpicking, etc. Anytime i would have a different opinion towards the series i would get bashed which lead me to this "wall of complaining text." i decided to get it out in the open that its not my point or goal to just plain nitpick. is valid criticism and opinion towards a franchise i like not acceptable?
There are things i like about the game and things i h...
thats what you mean, but i have no idea what you actually mean haha. what i described IS medicore, how is it not? i dont think im misusing the word for just a hyperbolic effect. it has mediocre qualities that aren't taken into account because the bar is set so high in all other aspects that encompass the game. the guns need tweaking as they're mediocre. we should be able to control the platforming, not just hit x, which is mediocre. i mean i hope i dont have to list everything with a ...
if you read the entire post im sure i stated why i thought it was medicore. linearity is not the defining factor holding it back for me. guns are awkward to control and feel weird, the platforming is cinematic, its more of a movie than a game, little player control, its a go here do this game, i find it repetitive and of course the linear "hold up" aspect doesn't help. bad game? no way, its awesome. just not next level awesome like its portrayed is all im saying. it exceeds just...
i dont wish for uncharted to turn into an open world game in that sense, but if they had multiple paths with various enemies and choices for each it would be nice. it wouldn't really fit for a lot of the scenarios that they try to portray, but if you're just running to "point A" let me climb the building, blast through the checkpoint or sneak around. something like that would be pretty neat and can be accomplishable by naughty dog. i mean it does have the potential to do tho...
well mr kojima. you sir have secured a purchase from me. i also have twin snakes on gamecube so i cant wait to buy the hd collection and play all the games in chronological order.
you make a valid point that i didn't really think about......the shareholders. they are the ones that want to see that bottom line so you're right. they have to protect the business and keep busy doing something about it. what kind of bothers me though is that you have the pass and if that fails to bring in profit like expected we'll end up seeing other ridiculous implementations on top of the pass. you'll have to register your pass but the last half of the game is locked unle...
i haven't gotten around to shadows of the damned yet but a definite yes to the remaining 3. most of the time the underrated games are the best games.
i agree. they say the cut content is pretty unimportant so why even lock it begin with?
sweet. i was kinda thinking the same. im not really whole heartedly into 3d yet, but when i tried out the 3ds i liked it. i have an xl and a lite so i was thinking about trading the lite in and my older games to get it for free essentially. youve given me more reason to follow through now.
@mrbeatdown
yah i wasnt very clear but what i mean is that new buyers need to be rewarded with content that used purchasers dont have access to and will never have access to. everytime you buy a new game there is a code that allows access to play. well with that code there needs to be additional content. whether it is already on the disc or not its fine but when i enter the code give me 2 free maps, new weapons for single player, new areas that can only be accessed with my co...
if i buy used i dont see it as punishment because they already got paid for a copy. a used copy cant exist without a sold new copy. i will gladly support devs but new buyers dont get any rewards except for the content that used purchasers have locked. all im saying is there needs to be a better system in place. you cant constantly punish the used market as i often buy a lot of my games from the trade value of used games. Thats really the only way i can afford to buy bf3 day one. i know im not...
yes you're not paying extra if you buy new but the system is ridiculous. there should a reward for buying new not a monetary punishment for buying used. the incentives for buying new aren't even incentives they're just punishments on the used game market and gamers are caught in the middle.
im really stoked to play cursed mountain. I bought the limited edition on amazon for 8 dollars a few days back so it should arrive sometime soon. heard it was a pretty decent game.
well, thats a little different than what most publishers/developers are trying to do. i really hate all these "buy new incentives" though. i feel like they hurt more than they help. thankfully they did not implement the online drm model that they are so supportive of. that would have killed it for me.
what i enjoyed most about ww2 cod was the authenticity and the atmosphere. sure older guns are not as reliable in a sense but it had authentication and that is something that have absolutly lost. the reinvention of the series into modern warfare has been pretty cool, but they have been unable to match the heightened adrenaline rush that came with the ww2 experience, at least from a single player perspective. the modern warfare single player has been lackluster at its best. now its kinda flipp...
i surely hope we dont move to a cloud only system. i dont think im ready for that just yet. i mean i feel like there is a huge over saturation in the game market. way to many AAA releases month after month. bundle that with the 65 dollar price tag and you have a combination for a no buy, at least for me. if we could get retail releases at 40 i feel like they would make more money and sales would sky rocket. im probably wrong as thats just how i feel but i cant even remember the last time i bo...
thats great news. i had feared catherine would be a total flop. its an awesome game though. good for atlus.
i just assumed it was hahaha. the article mentioned the price in U.S dollars so it made me think it was. i haven't really been hearing much about this title so im still a little lost.
it makes perfect sense. i refuse to support a pass that is so blatently forced upon us with all the other mess that encompasses "great features" of next gen games. plain and simple it does more harm than good. what they are basically saying is "hey, buy the game new or were locking content for 10 dollars" um ok, i have always bought your games new so why do you have to force something so ridiculous upon me? thats fine. 50 to gamestop and 10 to the developers for their pass...
