The only way I see that happening is if its a 3rd party exclusive, not that im disagreeing with you or anything. I just really doubt nintendo will create those kinds of games. Not something I really see them doing. If its a new IP its probably gonna fall in line with their style they've accustomed to for many years.

Im ready for them to put it out on the market though. Cant wait to pick it up and see how it actually functions.

Im not defending them or saying bethesda is correct, but even with all the issues they've had with the ps3 (oblivion, fallout, fallout NV) gamers STILL demanded skyrim on ps3. You would think most would be a little cautious. Yet, every time its the same thing with complaints, bugs and glitches. At some point you have to be a smart consumer, I dont mean you, just generally speaking. People expect their games to run at a functional level, but this is not a perfect world.

It...

@thespaz

Yes, you're correct. Which was what I was inferring to, even though I wasn't 100% clear. Its engine related in reference to how the saves work with RAM, thus being constricted on ps3.

@refocusedman

Your entire argument is irrelevant to the situation. My point was, how can they fix it? The game keeps track of every single item in the world and the ps3 doesnt have the RAM to handle the capacity in the long run. Its not Bethesdas fault that the ps3 constricts the game. This also goes for the 360 as well, although it can manage for a little longer. Some people are running into lag and some are not.

Its not a disregard for the consumer in the l...

Kaveti6616 is right. Could you honestly imagine the insane amount of backlash they would have got if they did not release the game on ps3? This lag issue would pale in comparison to that angry mob. Honestly, Bethesda did the best they could in comparison to what they were working with. The engine has to remember every single detail of the entire world and it puts a strain on the ps3. Im not sure how else it could be fixed unless you upgrade the RAM.

Basically gamers will comp...

Your last sentence sentence explains the root of the problem, which is also tied to the engine. A lead dev stated they would have to redo the entire system of saving in order to truly fix the problem. There might be work arounds, but factor in the limited console ram and it just adds more constraint.

Getting rid of the dead enemies, item drops, etc would definitely help though. Its kinda cool how everything stays put. The issue that is causes is not so cool though.

Yes, hopefully the cost will go down and not up. Something I'll definitely be keeping an eye on. I think 299 is the sweet spot for consoles, give or take 50 dollars. The main reason behind that is because the ps3 launched at 600 dollars for the 60 gig. Any gamer could have taken that money and put together a pc that would easily out preform the ps3.

Im not discrediting the consoles though. Gamers are very interested in hardware. Yet, a high price tag for old, non upgrad...

Yes, I know consoles were quite expensive when they first came out, but that only applies to this gen. What im saying is gamers want to talk hardware like it means everything, yet pay 600 for tech that is far behind that of a pc. I personally waited till I could afford the 299 model. It just doesn't make sense to spend that much when you could build a 600 dollar pc that would be light years ahead of the ps3.

Basically, you would pay that amount to play exclusives and that...

I completed this quest on ps3. Now every time I go to markarth the guards are still locked into the quest. They tell me im under arrest and when I select any of the dialogue options nothing happens. As soon as I exit the dialogue it pops back up saying im under arrest. So yah, basically the entire city is now broken for me. No longer can I step foot in markarth because the broken dialogue locks me into place or every single guard attacks me repeatedly. Extremely frustrating cause I had just b...

No way. Rayman Origins was one of the best platformers I've played in a very very long time. Heck, its one of the best games to release this year.

Well not all the fault lies directly on bethesda. What more can they do really? Like he said, its difficult for the engine to remember every single detail of the entire world when the memory is limited. Puts major strain on limited resources.

That was actually really interesting to read. They gave really good insight into how the system for fallout and TES function.

Also, it sort of confirms my fears that the issue is more related to the engine more than anything. Well not so much directly the engine. Its the engine combined with the split memory of the ps3 that's really the root of the problem.

The extended play lag did go away after the latest ps3 patch though, at least for me. Hopefully the...

True EA is not alone, but the expiration date is set to the physical code before entering and before going online. Happened to me when I bought dragon age for ps3. I bought brand new, but the actual code for the single player content was locked because it had already expired. Did I get a brand new code for buying new? Nope, they could care less. I should have just bought used to save myself five dollars.

It kind of makes me hesitant. I dont get to buy every game new around la...

Well its good to see that the online pass is now combating the used market AND the new market. Maybe now gamestop will think twice before selling a new copy for five dollars cheaper.

Yah, dont expect the sales to skyrocket once it hits the states. Its a shame really, but Nintendo can only blame themselves for the way they handled the release of this game. They chose to ignore their fan base instead of keeping the idea open. Its a very frustrating situation.

Personally, I was going to hack my wii to play an import copy, but I'm glad I didn't. I dont have to go through the trouble now. There are a lot of people who have been waiting for this game an...

All that information is meaningless. I just want to play fun, creative, well built nintendo games in hd. If they can pull that off with lower specs then so be it. Outdoing nintendo specs (which they probably will) wont have an effect on gamers, such as myself, who want to actually play the games.

I remember that the dragon age pass had an expiration date, which I was unable to redeem. This just goes to show that the pass ordeal has nothing to do with the used market. Buy new or buy used, you might end up having to buy a pass anyways. I doubt the publisher will give you a new, working pass, just because you bought new. The online pass is a new way to generate profit under the scapegoat of used games.

@PirosThe4th

Ah yes, the good old days when walking and aiming were two completely separate game mechanics.

I did watch a few preview videos and saw that the aiming locked you into position, only allowing you to rotate. Very much an old school, eastern design mechanic. Im sure not many people will like that. Personally, I dont mind. I played resident evil and dino crisis for many years of my childhood, so at this point its second nature for me.
