Nintendo put some new IP's together on all consoles throughout the years. Were not talking crazy numbers here, but I can think of a few off the top of my head like wave race, pikmin, xenoblade, sin and punishment, 1080 avalanche and so on.

Its hard for me to give up on Nintendo when their core gameplay experiences are so refined and fun to play. I enjoy great gameplay above just about anything else. Nintendo has that down to a perfection that and I just cant turn away.

Most people hated the game because it was linear and repetitive with no towns and nothing to besides battle.

"Hey guys, we added free exploration, towns, mini games, full areas to traverse/explore and monster collecting"

"Well, um, I still hate 13-2 because its dumb"

Thats pretty much what I'm seeing some of the responses boil down to. People dont want 13 or 13-2 to succeed even if it looks like it has improved. I hate...

Right, good job with your personal attacks because you dont agree with someone else's opinion. The game isn't even out yet, let it go.

"some publishers"....actually I think MOST publishers, if not all, abuse dlc. Thats being rather general though, but pretty common. Capcom is just more notable and uncaring about dlc than others.

Very rarely do publishers use it for the intent of expanding content. For the most part its about reselling content or "unlocking" content. We still get that quick new game thats thrown together and still has DLC on top. DLC is absolutely one of the worst things t...

Reviews are very much sugar coated. Seems every one is scared to tell the truth for fear of backlash. Like you said, its the readers who ask for this sort of style. No one wants a site to rip apart a game or franchise they have personal attachment to. Even when they do, which is rarely, people quickly dismiss those opinions as "false", further feeding into the cycle. Everyone already has a preconvieved notion that should be met and anything other than that doesnt exsist.

Great blog post. Reviews are 100% opinion based no matter how you go about it. Generally speaking though, I dont like the idea of setting a numerical value as a rating. Its a great general gauge, but its sporadic at best. Gamers take the individual number way to personally and skip right over some reviews because of it, which is a shame. There is always someone who thinks "game x" should have been scored .01 points higher or lower and, as such, will argue that fact to no end.

Well of course you may not want to do it and it does work fine as a stand alone, but its just an option. The more platforms and ways for users to access the game, the better. Nothing wrong with that. It seems to be working out quite well though, which is almost surprising. I wasn't quite sure how it was going to turn out when I first heard about bastion being offered as a browser game.

Definitely, I mean it should have a nice balance. Story is still important though and the main driving force behind rpgs, at least for me. Without that engaging connection, it makes the exploration and leveling seem slightly less important to some degree. Lame story or not, that's practically the only thing that will keep me going even if I dont like the game.

On a side note, I really liked the story in 13 and the battle system was interesting, albeit, a little constricti...

Little King's Story was ridiculously fun, so this would be an instant buy for me once the vita rolls around.

I honestly can't tell if you're praising the game or criticizing it.

Yah, for 5 bucks its not that bad. Full price, now that's another story.

No way. Thats like saying sony should scrap uncharted and gran turismo and microsoft should scrap halo and gears. zelda and mario are great games that are still fun to play.

I agree. Although I enjoy skyrim and TES in general, the combat is pretty underwhelming and lackluster. Especially after playing demons souls and dark souls it becomes more apparent. Swinging wildly with a sword and spamming magic just isn't that fun compared to the rest of the game that's a blast to play.

@NathanExplosion

True as that was also my point. It gets criticism for things people like which is viewed as "nitpicking." There are a lot of things that I dont like about uncharted that gamers absolutely love. Am I nitpicking? No way, I just dont like games that fall in line with Uncharted. Although its better than most cinematic games I just dont like the style (linearity, hand holding, repetition, etc)

Its by no means a bad game, but those who de...

Plenty of people nitpick zelda and mario. Windwaker, sunshine and TP are good examples. No game is truly perfect and will always have major and minor complaints, uncharted is no exception.

But then again when someone doesn't like something about uncharted its viewed as "nitpicking". If someone doesn't like the game or a certain mechanic then so be it. Doesn't necessarily qualify as nitpicking to even bring up months before it even releases.

Well of course. Isn't that the case for every single game ever created?

True, but at least we'll have dead souls and yakuza 5 to fall back on.

hahaha that was the best. I really liked the morality system in KOTOR. So much fun.

This sort of news gives me hope that the ps3 version can still be fixed. Although, this is just a PR statement and, as such, should be taken with a grain of salt. I'm optimistic to the situation, but I'll wait till I see some real resolution.
